There are videos of people and some priests fighting physically each other while celebrating mass. The joy of fighting in SyroMalabar church , it’s been happening in Kerala for the past few years. Jesus is not very important there , culture , ego and fight for power are very important than God there
People from Kerala have made their presence felt in many parts of the world by their professionalism and dedication to their jobs. Now it's time for them to instill back the Christian faith in places like Europe, America and Australia where the faith seems to be wilting in more ways than one. It's time for you to regain control of your faith in the Lord.
whilst you try very hard to nail the faith into eurpeans, do remember that some who believe more in their skin colour, aka race difference, would invariably get antagonised and your life / faith wouldn't be much fun once you come under their radar. Also realise that you're not in India where the chenda kottu paattu muthukuda etc are part of the culture( hindu temples) and most Europeans aren't used to it or the loud noise from places of worship, hence would prefer a peaceful life. Syro Malabar Church is the ancient Church of India and was established by St.Thomas the apostle. Our community is called as Nasranies/St.Thomas Christians/ Marthoma Nasranikal. We follow East Syriac liturgy.
The ancient St Thomas Christians (Syro Malabar)followed Nestorian the heretic and the customs of pagan’s , until the arrival of Latin Catholic missionaries from the Iberian peninsula in the 16th century .

They couldn't stand any other type of Christianity except the latin rite which they followed, so instead of accepting that there could be faithful Catholics outside their political boundaries who have their own culture and tradition, instead of accepting that they imposed the latin rite on to those catholics, causing the many splits in the St. Thomas Christians and also destroying important historical documents and prayer books of the Syro-Malabar (Nasrani) Christianity. But there were some good latin clerics who had reported a lot of these things to the Pope, so finaly the Syro Malabar christians could retrievethe available information from the vatican. In fact would not even blame the Latin Clerics fully because there were elements in the Nasrani Christianity which may have seem to be non-christian or heretic to a foreigner who just landed on Indian shores... similarly first time Indian Christians may see some things in western chritianity as non-catholic.

Lovely and very geartening, but wouldn't it be nice if we could get as many irish, english, welsh and scottish catholics to gather in such numbers. BTW just been to a beautiful LTM mass at St Peter, Paul and Philomena (the Dome from Home) in Wallasey Merseyside followed by a beautiful Marion procession around the local streets singing all the loveley old hymns to Our Lady. I wish more Catholic churches would bring back processions. 🙏

Any Hindu who believes that Christ is a saviour is by definition a Christian and not a Hindu. It's like saying do you know "many catholics believe that Mohammad is the final prophet'', that makes you a Muslim. Hindu scriptures do speak about Jesus, but as a Guru to the "Mlechhas". Mlechhas are those outside of the Vedic fold. So no Hindu believes that Jesus is the Saviour, at best they respect him as a Yogi or a Guru best suited to teach Non Vedic people.
It is believed that St. Thomas came to India 52CE . Assyrian Nestorian Syrian influence Kananaya influence Then 1498 Vasgoada Gama came to India, Which helped in the beginning of catholic influence in India
We were taught about Vasco da Gama in history, in South Africa, when I was young. The Portuguese got around Africa in 1488 and monopolised the route, which is why the Spanish were desperate enough to fund Columbus, 4 yrs later!

BTW just been to a beautiful LTM mass at St Peter, Paul and Philomena (the Dome from Home) in Wallasey Merseyside followed by a beautiful Marion procession around the local streets singing all the loveley old hymns to Our Lady. I wish more Catholic churches would bring back processions. 🙏

Any Hindu who believes that Christ is a saviour is by definition a Christian and not a Hindu. It's like saying do you know "many catholics believe that Mohammad is the final prophet'', that makes you a Muslim.
Hindu scriptures do speak about Jesus, but as a Guru to the "Mlechhas". Mlechhas are those outside of the Vedic fold.
So no Hindu believes that Jesus is the Saviour, at best they respect him as a Yogi or a Guru best suited to teach Non Vedic people.

We were taught about Vasco da Gama in history, in South Africa, when I was young. The Portuguese got around Africa in 1488 and monopolised the route, which is why the Spanish were desperate enough to fund Columbus, 4 yrs later!
