Such an insightful walk through of Pholarchos Tarot! Your observations are so eloquently expressed (Tarot master reader and historian that you are)! Great appreciation Tom, for your taking the time to share the full deck as well as passages from the booklet, along with your deeply meaningful and thought provoking impressions.
I actually see lots of consistency. Aces are B&W faces. 2-10 sketchbook, page & queen painted, prince B&W photorealistic, king smeary portrait! With an artist this talented they obviously can create amazing work so I always assume it’s artists choice. AND THAT TWO OF SWORDS 🤤😭 sooooo beautiful
The Prism Tarot beautifully expressed, Colin! Absolutely. I have this deck and haven’t rushed to publish my overly lengthy video about it because I mistakenly believed it was OOP. Now that I’m aware that it’s not, I will get it edited and uploaded!
I adore this deck! And I use it as an adjunct with a couple other decks to add an alchemical, magical element that reaches into the psyche and soul, illuminating & challenging. Love the walk through - this review adds an extra living dimension to the deck, creative & alive as it is.
It's really exceptional. I've used it a few times and I think it has a meditative quality that I don't see with a lot of tarots. I think it's definitely a class of its own.
thank you for this walk through; gorgeous and challenging deck; find the backs very disturbing; love Arnell Ando; have gotten your beautiful book and started at the back so watched the video of Enrique Enriquez--what a trip!
I really like this deck. I have had it for awhile and it always makes me think out of the box. Thank you for the walk through and NO KEYWORDS lol. Have a great day Tom
RIGHT? THANK you no keywords! (Although keywords just stopped me from spending money on another deck, so I guess I should be thankful for that... 🤣🤣🤣🤣)
I like the minors in this deck, being different from the majors. I feel that the minors are truly portrayed as “minor”, in an everyday living your life kind of way. It inspires me to be more visual with a journal and more interactive with every day life elements. It reminds me of the differences between big essays and thesis type work vs. homework. Another way to see it is to consider the majors as the divine and the minors as the work you do to be with them. I like that the Aces are like exclamation points and the courts feel like people you know and love.
Thanks so much for sharing this deck. I watched your video about 5 times deliberating about whether the purchase it and today I did! Great walk through. Thanks!
I don't mind the art style changes because they're consistent among groupings, so all the aces have the same style, the pips have the same style, as do the dreamers, trails, etc etc
I do! It was one of the ones I thought of when I saw it. Cheimonette is one I haven't worked with much, but I really need to take it down from the shelf.
Hi Ben - I know you made this video ages ago, but I'm just learning about this deck now (thanks to the lovely enabling of @Lady Alchemilla). It does remind me of the Cheimonette - but her work was really consistent and systematic in its tone and crazed beauty... Did you indeed end up spending a lot of time with the deck???
Isn't this the most surprising deck? I've had it for a few weeks, and have enjoyed looking for the layers in the cards. I heard someone say it might make a good majors-only deck, but then you'd be missing all the intense creativity, wouldn't you?

Thanks!! !That means a lot. And thanks for sending it along -- and bringing it into the world. It's a real piece of art!
Wow thank you Tom, your opinion & thoughtful words mean so much to Carmen & me!

You've definitely got an artist's eye for sure, my friend!
What a fascinating deck. It doesn't call to me to own it, or to read with it, but I love how totally unafraid it is to be different.
So true. And that's one good reason to do walk-throughs! Sometimes you don't really know til you see the whole thing.

All of this is so lovely! Thanks for getting the book. ❤️❤️❤️

I got this one when it first came out! Love it! Thanks for another great review!
Yay!! Isn't it gorge? So good! Thanks for watching!
The artwork of the deck is Amazing, thanks for showing this great deck.😊
My pleasure! Thanks for being here!

So true -- and just such great work. I love handmade art!
Great walkthrough, thank you!
This deck reminds me of the Cheimonette tarot. It's provides space for intuitive interpretation that is not fixed by any one style. Do you agree?
I do! It was one of the ones I thought of when I saw it. Cheimonette is one I haven't worked with much, but I really need to take it down from the shelf.
@@thefoolsjournal I enjoy it because it's quite different. Goes well with my Tarot of trees deck.

I honestly haven’t spent much time with it. I think it’s gorgeous but I’m so about deep-diving with decks.
The inconsistency of the art does seem to bother me! But the deck is stunning in the general!
The HP and Queens!!! Alone worth the price of the deck!!!!

I agree. The majors are incredible, but I think it works together like an orchestra!
Woo! Braving the office heat!
I'm so brave.
