I was at that game and a lot of good people were saved that day by Stokes Naughty 40 who got on the fence to stop the Brum coming in. They were well outnumbered that day but stood and defended that fence like life depended on it and it did. Don’t go in for football fighting but a big thanks to all you game Stoke lads that stopped them at the fence. It stopped a lot of very innocent shirts getting badly hurt for doing no more than turning up to support the team they love. Also well done to the police and some but not all the security staff.
They didn't want to leave the ground, once it got abandoned. There was a building site opposite the away end, full of bricks and scaffolding. Stoke shit it, on the way back down Garrison Lane and into town. One of theirs was in hospital for weeks and eventually lost his eye. They got hammered after their brave little show on that fence line.
Brum backed off??? You for real? 300 to 400 blues on the pitch, how many stoke come on??? None. So don`t say fair play to to stoke, not one of them come on the pitch.
@@standrewsSH About 3,000 Brum invaded due to crying over a good goal as in 1-0 up and you fucked it up. A few Stoke did jump on, they climbed down from the upper seats, in the Main Stand. Only about 6 of them, but fair play they were as keen as mustard. All them along the fence had the opportunity to back their mates but decided to leave them with it. Stoke didn't want to leave the ground 🤭 and they got tormented, all the way back to New Street.

Just took my like off for liking my own comment one year ago. The Zulu firm do have to be commended in the context of creating inclusion of black and Irish immigrants of which both of these groups were marginalized by society in general at that particular time period. I now also believe the time is right for a firm or football club in England to be kind to the Muslim community in 2024. Allah akbar God is great.
