Who should have been the Higher Power? I don't completely recall where and what everyone was doing at the time but I can think of a few interesting names to start... 1. Shane? Vince as the HP doesn't really work because of everything that the MOD did to him and Stephanie but I could see Shane going full evil on them for the power grab. 2. Stephanie? So I know she was one of the big targets of the MOD during that run but I could see it being Steph all along if it was explained as partly a power grab but also partly her turning on HHH and, in the subsequent episodes, she turns the MOD against him as revenge for how he ruined her life. 3. Vince Ruso? This could have been an interesting injection of "work-shoot" backstage politics into the kayfabiest storyline the company had going if done with the right balance of tones.
1. Shane was already the leader of the Corporate Ministry at the time soit wouldn't really make sense for it to be him. 2. Stephanie was still sweet and innocent at the time, so it very much couldn't have been her. In fact, the whole reason she married Triple H in kayfabe later that year was because of Vince and Shane leading the Corporate Ministry, and putting her through hell. 3. Russo was a backstage only kind of guy in WWE. I doubt VKM would have greenlit that anyway. Honestly, they never should have made the Higher Power be an actual person to begin with. If it had just been a metaphorical thing the whole time, it could have been great. It's interesting to think about how if they did that instead, we wouldn't have gotten Stephanie turning on her father and marrying Triple H for revenge later that year, which means we wouldn't have gotten the McMahon-Helmsley Regime, which means Hunter and Steph don't start dating in real life, so they don't get married, there's no Reign of Terror, no Triple H becoming the heir apparent of WWE and getting lots of power, so no NXT, NXT Takeovers, and potentially no people like Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, or the 4 Horsewomen. That one moment sent such shock waves through the company, that it may have completely altered wrestling history, and we're still feeling the effects of it today.
I always look at the Katie Vick storyline as the absolute worst wrestling angle (with the dungeon of doom a close second) but the difference between these stories and the Katie Vick story is that the ending of Katie Vick had HBK superkick the face off Trips leading to their great feud.
I'm still very happy that Team WWE beat Team Nexus. Why are you wondering? Very easily. Everyone always says what kind of wasted potential the Nexus is, but imagine what would have happened if they had won? Sure, they would have been over for you in the next weeks or maybe even months, but at some point everyone cools down and do you really believe that the "fans" would then watch a show where there are wrestlers that nobody knows? To put it badly, WWE would then have become an indie league, which now hand on heart: Would the Attitude era have been just as successful if The Rock, Kurt Angle, Steve Austin etc. didn't exist, but only Steve Blackman, Perry Saturn or Val Venis? I dare to doubt that. You can get upset about something in wrestling if it doesn't turn out the way you want, but then please consider another scenario. Unfortunately, there is no telling whether it was positive that The Nexus was defeated or negative. Negative for The Nexus, of course, but for the company? Nobody knows that.
The Ambrose Asylum Match was also a terrible payoff. Other than the thumbtack spot and that bit where Dean grabbed nunchucks, Jericho was like "You don't even know how to use those!", Dean knew how to use those, and Jericho was comically shocked. The former was good and the latter was funny. Which in turn was a little bit of a negative. I mean, if you were going to be a violent match be that, if you were going to be tongue in cheek be that, or if you want to be a mix like Japanese Death Matches be that. Don't be tonally confused and poorly paced.
How did cactus Jack not make the cut for this list I mean okay fair enough Mick Foley was a three-time the end of that feud between him and triple h that was some terrible booking they have a retirement match which triple h went over which meant Mick Foley had to retire but he still went on to WrestleMania to compete in that four-way elimination match that shit made no sense if they were going to have Mick Foley in that title match they should have had him go over and then it dropped the title at WrestleMania

DDP as the stalker was amazing. Shame WWE and Big Mark absolutely buried him cause they were daft old buggers
DDP was much older than the Undertaker. Your argument is invalid.
A bonus? Man you can easily make a second top 10 list about this lol
Rikishis bad man theme song was awesome
So... Where was Galactus when Randy and Bray were fighting in his house?
I always look at the Katie Vick storyline as the absolute worst wrestling angle (with the dungeon of doom a close second) but the difference between these stories and the Katie Vick story is that the ending of Katie Vick had HBK superkick the face off Trips leading to their great feud.
Their feud started before Katie Vick tho
Special mention should go to Eric Rowan's caged spider. That was truly naff.
Top three
1.Sting loses to hhh
2.Ddp as the stalker
3. The nexus
Mfs sayin nice vid like they watched it in 1 minute of it dropping 😂
Can you do every X division championship from worst to best
good video
Rikishi shoulda never been the one that ran over Austin. It shoulda been either Triple H or Kurt Angle. And DDP shoulda never been the stalker
Well, still better storyline then nowadays WWE storyline. Every week they are totally suck. This is why I keep away to watch WWE nowadays.
thanks!
Alternate title: 10 Reasons Why "Just Let It Play Out" Is A Load of Horseshit.
Vince McMahon hasnt been a creative genius in over 20 years.
What was wrong with DDP as the stalker? I thought he did an excellent job.
I don't remember anything about a Higher Power. Do you mean Hower Power?
The Hacker should be on the list
"I did it for the rock"
I heard Rikishi did it for Pacitti
A hand? Sounds like the finger.
I'm sorry but I always find Brey Wyatt very cute looking.
He looks like a teddy bear 🐻.
I don't find him any crazy cult dark whatever.
I had to look up "OAP". It isn't old ass person in case you all were curious
The Mae Young-Mark Henry romance wasn't as bad as Chyna "girlfriend" Sammy
11.15 that's clearly Nesquik and not Coco Pops 🤦♂️
It was the Hower Power!
I liked the nash storyline even though it did end a punk and h feud too early
Bro she gave birth to a hand because Henry was giving her the baby arm uh-huh
Aka The Top 10 Wet Farts in WWE history.
Ddp got buried
You know the excuse the triple h won that match for an eventual buildup with the rock match should we send red flags about the Roman Reigns vs Rock match. Might never happen happened
After seeing 2, I have a hunch on what 1 is.
For sure thought it was about to be Booker losing after the "you people" stuff.
