Candyman (2021) isn’t actually a remake, it’s a direct sequel to the original. The main character, Anthony is supposed to be the same character as the baby Helen saves at the end of the 1992 film.
I will never ever part with my GT Media DVD release of Night of the Living Dead. It has the true original poster artwork sized to the DVD cover, it came with a collectable lobby card, and it is the only time Night of the Living Dead was transferred as is, in low resolution. The low resolution actually made the movie scarier than it actually is.
I also bought the 2-disc Synapse blu-ray of Suspiria, and I thought it was the best-looking blu-ray I'd ever seen. But I bought the 4K on a whim, and... wow. Yes, it's even better, and not just a little better either. It's worth the upgrade.
For all of you who missed out on the original VHS tape era, there are so many to choose from. I have the Hal Roach Studios VHS tape, which i believe includes the semi-lost ending to the original Night of the Living Dead.
The 4k fright night is one of the best. I've got it signed by Tom Holland. Best feature is a whole reading of the script with the original cast but Mark "fuckin" Hamil as Peter Vincent which is only on the 4k release.
There is a chunky 4k boxset of the Suspiria remake that was just released. Only problem is it’s prohibitively expensive for a single movie, with prices currently ranging anywhere from $86 on Ebay to $150 from Walmart online. Ridiculously overpriced.
That Pet Sematary lenticular one is cool, I generally don't care for slip covers but ones like that I do like. I missed out on that cover when i got that blu ray years ago.
Please make the Night of the Living Dead video!! I love the 1990 version yet have heard so many mixed things about every Blu-ray release I need to know which one to get 😭
I just can't get into "doll" horror flicks. Chucky, Annabelle, Dead Silence, Leprechaun, The Boy, Meagan, etc. I do like some of The Puppet Master series.
4K is easily the best format, the quality of transfers are just better, 4K transfers on blu ray are still good but they still fall short and they are fewer and far between, Blu ray is still in a place where they put out tons of crap movies with crap transfers
Start buying extra players if you can. LG has announced that they’re ceasing production on all 4K, and Bluray players. Where is physical media headed? I don’t know for sure, but i’m betting that at least one major studio will announce that they’re leaving the scene completely. My best guess, is Warner Brothers….
The true horror historian would pull out and compare and contrast every version he has on DVD of 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.' This is the movie that birthed the horror genre way way back in 1908. The first film adaptation is completely lost. The 1912 version is only on Alpha Video DVD, but a lot of horror experts would agree the horror genre didn't really take off until 1920 with the one starring John Barrymore. Yes, it's true I really know my horror history, it's so fascinating learning about horror movies made 100 years ago.
I have the 1920 John Barrymore bluray and the Fredrich March bluray. Both are invaluable to me. Spencer Tracey version is okay too. Haven't seen those earlier releases. Did pick up the 1911 Dante's Inferno bluray which is really cool.
@@Teddy-t5h I ordered Dante's Inferno on day one of Terror Vision's announcement. I love that movie, it's a yearly watching for me. Now I can rest easy knowing this 113 year old movie has a nice solid blu-ray restoration.
I love this idea. I love watching the original and remakes fairly close together. And I firmly believe that A LOT of horror remakes are way better than they get credit for. I think most people hate on remakes without actually giving them a chance.
I just watched the Hills Have Eyes Part 2 last night....it's eh. The remake of the original Part 1 was.....eh? I wouldn't have bothered...the original is perfect. And honestly....ALL ORIGINALS are better. Otherwise no one makes a remake of it...that's totally my opinion. I gotta be honest that version of The Thing is not great, color timing is junk...you should try to get that 4K Steelbook from Scream Factory, their 4K scan is from the Arrow version.
NOTLD 90 perfection. These types of videos are the best man. You seem excited to be dropping facts and having a damn blast!
Suspiria on 4K is one of the best 4K discs ever, I have that Bluray, but I’m glad that I upgraded!
your at your best doing videos like this christian really enjoyed it some great titles and releases love blu rays : )

Synapse's bluray of Suspiria was like seeing the film for the first time again

Night 90! My favorite movie of all time!!
Go ahead and make that Living Dead video. That Umbrella release is what I have and I believe it has the brightest picture of the three.
I would love a DVD deep dive like you mentioned at the end. :-)

You spoiled my bloody valentine remake by saying it wasnt actually Harry warden
I know why I purchased it years ago and then I sold it. But yes, Christian do the night 90 video.
Christian, please make the Night of the Living Dead video, as I am unfamiliar with all of the releases. Looking forward to it!🤙

I saw My Bloody Valentine in Cinemas in 3D the intro is awsome in the carpark 😂 10min chase scene in 3D ....I think it better than original.

I only buy Steelbooks from Scream Factory as most of their 4K releases will go there next.

The Suspiria ultimate edition is probably my favorite release ever
How many copies and versions do you have of Army of Darkness? Were you ever able to see the TV version?
All pet cemeterys is on 4k
Blue-ray is the best overall I think
Please make the Night of the Living Dead video!! I love the 1990 version yet have heard so many mixed things about every Blu-ray release I need to know which one to get 😭
Umbrella is the way to go for that one.
I don't hate the remake of Childs Play, but I doubt if I'll watch it again.

Make the living dead twilight video
Candyman isn't a remake it's a sequel to the first
It's just like the evil dead
Can you do an underrated sequels video?
Like Pet Semetary 2 which I think is better than the first
I could not get into the last house on the left the original version because it's too dated. I think the remake is a lot better.

The CGI for the prequel of the Thing ruined the movie! It was horrible
Make the living dead video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pet Semetary isn’t a remake. It’s merely another adaptation. Movies based on books aren’t remakes, they’re adaptations.
No 😂
I hate it. I got rid of it years ago.
Got rid of what
