Great run. I'm still learning the game casually, with that pixel jump at 08:33 being my worst enemy. I didn't know you can do it standing still on the ledge, as I had tried that without success and assumed that walking adds _some_ momentum to the jump in this game. I suck at the bonus stages, and getting the wings from the Black Turtle ones was mandatory for this part, but maybe not anymore!
Ive only finished this game using save states. That one jump where you have to be pretty much frame perfect and the boss with the wall of enemies always get me
Oh yeah that jump is so precise, instant run killer. Yeah that wall of enemies is so broken, your rhythm has to be perfect and if you have the basic shuriken it's damn near impossible
@@radioactivemanfrommars7298 Funny how everyone seems to say that, because it took me a longer time to learn how to beat the wall boss with the rocket gun, and I still do it faster with the basic shuriken. I think it has to do with the sound effect - the shuriken's gives me a better rhythm response or something (my strat is to jump all the time at point blank range, firing at the two lowest statues once every jump and once every landing).
@@Steambull1 I actually had the same issue. I find it slightly easier to beat the wall boss with basic shuriken but you really need the extra health for the last stages so gotta get it done with the gun
Yeah this game is pretty easy compared to the arcade version. All you need to get is the flying squirrel magic. Use it at that impossible jump on 4-2. Once you do that it's easy.
I remember watching my brother play this when I was a child. He sank MONTHS into trying to beat this game. And when he finally did, it just said GAME OVER. WTF!??! It said the same thing as if you lost. We thought we did---we thought something was wrong with the game. LOL----worst ending ever.

You can beat the shinobi in 12 minutes! When I was a kid I played an entire afternoon and if I finished it I was sweating ink, amazing.
