So, I take it you're a fan? I, too, sold my original and made way for the new. There's just something about the sound Yamaha creates that is familiar but so unique to other brands, in my opinion

Missing the poly after touch....
btw I' also have Iridium KB in studio with polyaftertouch and it's cool! but not essential to me... I can live without PolyAT with Montage M, and with montage M6 and 7 if you have external gear with polyAT you can connect via the second usb to device and play Montage M sounds with PolyAT ;) without dropping around 5K€ on an M8x and move 28kg of instrument
Motif best
this and old Montage are way better than all motif lineup ;) And I've owned all the Motif's
@@DKS-SYNTH-LABwhat about the overall hardware quality? Is Montage better in this domain than Motif. Sound wise only, I guess that the Motif ES would be the best choice if you search not the huge amount of sound, but some sounds.

The Yamaha Montage is a music synthesizer that improves on the MOTIF series in terms of sound, control, and workflow. The Montage takes some design cues from the MOTIF series, but it's an exponential improvement.
@@fordmanfinis In fact, in Montage, 90 percent of the motif is functional, temporal and external.And also Montage is a classic digital synthesizer, and Motif is a classic workstation with a full-fledged sequencer/
They added more memory to Motif, more tones, added a new FM engine to the classic AWM engine, added a SuperKnob to the control panel, which changes several assignable parameters at once. Added a Touch Screen instead of the usual one, while naturally removing the navigation buttons for it and changing the interface. At the same time, a full-fledged sequencer was removed and the result was a montage. So this is essentially the same old expensive motif in a new form

Yep, you can load your full backup without any problem! It works at 100%

What is the reason to buy workstation when you have DAW? I can’t understand.
Because I personally prefer hardware synths for live and also in studio for a better interaction when I compose music :) I also use VST’s and they are great, but powering up a synth in 10 seconds and play.. well to me it’s better

all sounds are AN-X (synth arp, bass and strings) except drums (external VST) and the lead is AWM2

yes! absolutely a great engine for Montage M :) and combined with other two engines you can create amazing sounds!!
@@DKS-SYNTH-LAB I play live with VSTs and GigPerformer. I will buy a MontageM only if its plugin will allow to use a complete implementation leaving the hardware at home. Waiting for news about that.. Probably Q2 2024
I'm torn between the M8x key version or the M7. I'm a classical pianist, but at the same time I'm wondering if the 7 will be better for the synths.
The Drums sound weak, the rest sound good
I will never understand why small keyboards try to cram everything on them yet these huge keyboards barely use the space they have leave out drum pads smh I feel like equipment is rigged at times 😂

Well, with your instrument you can play what you want :) and btw this is new and not 30/40 yrs old synth with many problems 😉
