Since i have a abundance of fast ram on the Amiga,i turn off the min. chip ram to OFF and set it to use all fast ram. Ibrowse works with amitcp, miami(dx) and Roadshow. Turning off Javascript from the pull down menu can speed up some pages exponentially..if they can live without it. The A4000 with cyberstorm 060/ppc,Picasso IV and x-surf was my main machine up until around 2012 and i did banking and credit card payoff etc.. With CSS and all that it made the net pretty bad to view on Ibrowse ;/
Q! To maximise your windows… in MUI, add the drop-down gadget to MUI windows. You can then “snapshot” an iBrowse window, and every time a new iBrowse window opens, it will be that size. This isn’t a global MUI application snapshot, it’s entirely local to the application itself.
Back in the day I did put my Amiga online, first it was for BBS's then I ran my own 3 line (it think it was 3) BBS (A2000 with a couple of cards and an external Modem) then got on the internet before there was a GUI had an amazing time just going through sites that had zero security (I got some crazy stuff from some US police departments. I still lived in the UK back then) Then when I moved to the US I left my Amiga in the UK for a number of years before getting it back. Ages ago I bought a PCMCIA network card so I could put my Amiga A1200 online, never did. After I bought a Rapid Road I bought a USB network adapter so I could put my Amiga A1200 online, never did. Bought a plipbox so I could put my Amiga A1200 online, never did. I even have a MODEM in storage but to be honest everytime I think about putting my Amiga online my brain rebels! When I'm using my Amiga I like the fact it's quiet. Now I'm not talking actual sound after all I play music constantly, but I mean there are few to no distractions. I can write documentation for hours and not once have to concern myself with some update, YT notifying me of a new video from Hold and Modify, someone pinging my IP, emails incoming....the list goes on (just writing this on my PC I had 4 notifications) I find I'm more productive on my Amiga than my PC. One day when the kids leave (please let that be soon) I will set up my Amiga in a permanent place and it will be glorious.
Great vid “Q” 👍🏻 I own both 68K and PPC versions. Looks, nice and runs fast with a 68060. Works nice even in a 030. Don’t forget you still need a TCP/IP stack like MiamiDX or even Roadshow to get the network card side to work 😉
I try to construct all of my web sites as static HTML. Especially the ones that I host. That makes it fast to render, imposes little compute load on the server and reduces the attack surface for malware if you use the least server necessary.
Some guy did retro computers a huge service by setting up FrogFind and 68kNews. I think he originally did it for macs, but it's browser based and works on any computer using any OS. He came up with some kind of algorithm that dumbs down web sites so the old computers can see them. It's great for text heavy sites because no ads and also it gets past a lot of paywall sites so I even use it on a win10 machine...
Because they are slooowwwww! On a 68K setup. Also OWB only works on a AGA setup. Couldn’t get it to work on a RTG setup properly with P96. Also OWB is not fully supported like iBrowse is.

Thank you for these details. Pinned!

Oh wow! Thank you!!! I love the community we have!
@@HoldandModify Ha, no worries! It's one of the benefits of MUI really handy feature!
Love the latest iBrowse as all my favourite Amiga forums run great on my A4000 👍
That’s great! It’s super fun being able to stay Amiga side when you can.

I agree with the "Maximize Windows on open" comment. It would be really awesome if we did not have to manually resize the windows every. Single. Time.
Would love if it did!

I’ve got some XSurfs coming!

We need more like you! Thank you!

I believe that’s the guy at Action Retro channel that made that. He also has a Minecraft server running.
Is javascript canvas2d or webgl is available in amiga browsers, some example of javascript games and demos on me channel for tests.
There some JavaScript support but it’s limited and due to size and complexity of some scripts it will time out to protect system
Nice browser, but a little too much on price.
It’s not cheap. True.
Was that Werner Herzog or Scotty? :)
I think it was Herzog…lol
As far as I know, nobody has EVER read a manual for a web browser
Hah! Well that makes me feel a little better. :)
same thing happened to me with buying a WHDLOAD key. 🤣
Lol! Gah! So many years I waited, then. Haha.
Why dont use NetSurf 68k or OWB ,modern browser for old Amiga. 🙄

Reasons, many. Heh.
@@cullmaster7361 that’s shame that’s it does support TrueColor modes on a classic Amiga, it should lot faster if did need to do dithering.
do you need to buy MUI and iBrowse?
If you want full features and no nag screens, yes. Both are still purchasable. Maintained.
Yeah white should be called shine, never liked white backgrounds it is way to bright.
We need the dark themes. Heh.
@@HoldandModify always used to set windows and the browser to grey background like Amiga, but win 8 and forward ruined the UI customization.
