I was lucky enough to be in the stadium as part of a volunteer gig at this years Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida.

Towards the beginning of the video, you may hear some yelling. That is due to a disorderly fan attempting to go to a location he does not have clearance to go.
I feel so bad for the Weeknd. He was so excited about the performance but there's literally no one to appreciate it. I've never felt so bad for someone's performance ever before. First the Grammy's then this. He really doesn't deserve this. He did so good in this and there just wasn't enough people who would've reciprocated :(
I feel the same for him, but there's still a lot of people who really likes him and loved this amazing performance.
Dude is crushing pandemic with everything he has released and he has had fantastic live performances despite restrictions. I'm very impressed and sad he couldn't do the Red Suit tour last year.
We need to appreciate all artists who were performing, streaming albums and songs during pandemic, that's real artists, they don't care for money

If u listen to blinding lights (in the nfl post) you can hear that he slightly messes up one of the notes which proves that its live even in the official one

It’s seriously lackluster and he doesn’t sound good... and I’m a fan of his. He should’ve tried to get someone to perform with him, someone like Ariana Grande could’ve spiced it up and made it more dynamic as a performance. Instead it’s just him walking around singing his songs.
It’s my personal favorite but that’s just cause I’m biased, but it would have been one of the undisputed best if there was no COVID restrictions

You all saying there wasn't any cheering, poor guy, blah blah. I live in Tampa, 5 minutes down the road from Raymond James Stadium. That music and audio system is so fucking loud, I can guarantee it drowned out anything through this guy's camera sounds other than the prominent loud music playing. Besides, look at the crowd. They're excited as all hell. That being said, the fireworks show from my roof was phenomenal.

What the hell you mean? I was a SB party at an apartment next to the miller's alehouse down the road and we watched the fireworks from the rooftop but could barely make out the music and we are like a 30 sec drive from the stadium 5 min walking

exactly . this is one of the first super bowl performances where the artist didnt interact with the crowd, up close. it wouldve made the performance way more hype. especially since the artist would’ve been right there.

The only reason the crowd didn’t seem energetic and dead, was because The Weeknd wanted the halftime show to be a cinematic experience for the people watching from home.

This has to be my favourite Superbowl performance, the visuals and creativity like with the use of covid masks being the plastic surgery head mask from the Too Late video was just awesome. And then when House of Balloons played and they were all marching, it was legendary. I don't think anyone will top this

Please keep in mind that we are in a pandemic which changes things up about 99% in order to keep everyone safe. Many are saying that The Weeknd had a dead ass audience who weren't really fans. Well Guess what? They were dead fans, actually they were Cardboard cutouts of fans and about 30 thousand of them😂. The other 25 thousand bodies in the stands were actual LIVE humans. Hope this gives a better explanation of why the fans in the stands werent really loud and cheering on The Weeknd. Btw, I was part of his stage crew staff so thats why I know a few things here and there😁

For anybody wondering why the crowd was basically quiet was because the stadiums capacity is 65,890 but due to covid they could only allow 22,000 pepole in so the stadium was almost empty with most of the fans being cardboard cutouts so thats why the crowd is basically dry. Plus basically noone cheers during the show so that is another reason
