Just finished reading Shakelton's Stowaway. This expedition has captivated me in a way no other story has. Don't exactly know why. I hate the cold yet I was glued to the book...couldn't put it down. Feel like I know the characters. Want to know more about Shakelton. This story defies the limits of human endurance. I can't get enough info about the Endurance and the journey she took to the artic!

My son, Naomis, who passed away in 2009 would have fit the description for the type of men Shackleton sought to recruit. Only a rare breed would seek such a brave and unpredictable adventure. What a legacy those men left for their families and an invaluable contribution to world history!
