If installing cladding to a small area say 8" by 8" then only install the edging to two sides of the room as its very difficult to bend in such a small place. Use paint or wallpaper scrapers to make job easier to fit boards into edging. If you have difficult small corners then cut the edging down the middle with a saw first and just stick it into place with mastic. Same with the first and last pieces of edging. I used the boards to cover up an unsightly artexed roof in bathroom and used lots of mastic to stick the boards to the ceiling. Looks brilliant and very professional now its up.
A nice clear video and the corner technique saves fiddling with mitre joints. I use small screws instead of staples which means the cladding is easier to remove at a later date if needed (e.g.) for change in lighting, fitting new services - pipes, cables etc). Is there a video on making the fitting of h trim techniques as I do find it is hard to install.
I had the same problem with the staple going straight through the edge of the panels but a tiny piece of T-Shirt fabric placed over it first sorted the problem perfectly.
It's amazing how am opportune to how how to achieve pop ceiling from the beginning to the finishing process, this is a good avenue to learn more of other handmade stuff like this
thank God for youtube i have to get this installed and people wanna charge me 5 flipping thousand for a simple job like this let those money houng depart from me thank for this awesone video😍
I having trouble with the staples shattering the tongue of the cladding. Either the staples are too big or the stapler is too powerful? I'm using wickes cladding, 14mm staples and a Stanley TR250 stapler.
What type and size screws would you use to secure these PVC panels into walls and ceiling? into wood battens ceiling and hollow plasterboard for walls please?
What's the best way to remove some panels without damaging them. There a drip coming from above and I need access to investigate but want to try and use the panels again.
I'm looking for a way to do that myself, got some visitor(s) running around up there a will, have no idea how to remove 1 & put a trap or 2 without destroy the seamless finish?!?!
Hi, they dont join on the ends you can use a H trim www.celplas.co.uk/product/h-trim-chrome/ or if your local to our store we have some 4 metre lengths.
This is one of the best lessons on practicals

Screws take more time. Staplers are faster ,especially if you are a man and wife doing the work 😊

I tried stapling both the edge trim and cladding, and both just shattered. I ended up screwing the cladding through the hidden lip 😒
It's a term called secret nailing 👍
Next time try a tiny piece of cut off fabric on top of the plastic.

Use a little piece of fabric, from an old T-Shirt between the staple and the plastic.

Great video! Helped me lots!
Hope you like it
Thanks, great simple video. Do you sell your products in Costa Rica?
What adhesive did you use? My ceiling is falling apart the screws I used are left on the button wood .
Why are the starter trims left square and not cut to a forty five joint angle and why staples when screws give a more secure fix ?
Yes lad..i would use Staples just to get it in place then I would put a few screws on it along with a drop of silicone for good measures lad
@@shaunharrison1028 yes lad
@@shaunharrison1028 2 man job lad lol
So you don't see gaps if your corner is not true 45

It suitable to install at bathroom?
How much spacing should there be between the battens?
18 - 22 inches, but depends on room size. small room 18" large 22"
Is it necessary to add air vents to an outdoor ceiling when using this product?
No need to vent unless originally vented before
Thank you, best work.
Why they doing in the corners stright??? Is not proper job,i always cutting off...1trim and above i leaving normal at every kind of trim in ceiling.
What is the life span of a pvc ceiling? ...and can i use it on my eaves where it will be close to the zink roof and receive alot of heat?
I believe it lasts long years. I've been in houses where this kind of ceiling was over 20 years old and still in good quality.
nice demo
easy job... now l can fix these things. thank you.
Wont the staples rust??
We always use stainless; video is seriously lacking so much detail and very rough work, and where was the fourth wall?
What if your ceiling is more than 2.7 metres does it join at the ends Thanks

What will happen with this stuff is that after a couple years black mould will form in the joins and be next to impossible clean.
Nice
