had a quick question. last week we spoke about the OLB being your force player in a 4-4. at 1:03 in this vid you said End should be force player. does this change depending on a specific game plan? or did I misinterpret
Not sure what you're referring to in the video (definitely not at 1:03!), but no. Absolutely never the defensive end except for a very small number of Cover 0 blitzes that are very different.
@@andrewhaley1051 Oh, what a lot of youth coaches will call a 6-2 Defense is really the same structure as a 4-4 or a 4-2-5. In a 4-2-5, they're overhang safeties. In a 4-4 they're outside linebackers. In a 6-2, they're defensive ends. But that person in the structure should nearly always be the force defender
Just volunteered to be a youth coach for 10 year olds.. can’t decide what Defense to run.. the league will be balanced between run and pass.. any suggestions?
10 year olds you're looking at either a 4-4 or 5-3 Defense. Which are the same as the 4-2-5 Defense or 33 Stack Defense we teach in Joe Daniel Football. SO, my self-serving suggestion is get a JDFB Insider subscription at joedanielfootball.com/membership and that gives you access to both systems, then you can check each of them out in depth and decide what fits you best.
I really enjoy your podcasts. I'm a new Defensive Coordinator and I'm always eager to learn.
Thank you coach!
Hello coach. How do you teach the "block destruct"? Ty.

My high school team runs a 33 stack and I play SS. What stance do you recommend me getting into?
Good stuff coach. Just subscribed to your podcast. Keep up the good work. Good luck this season!
Thank you coach!
Thanks Coach!
