How can people say that Jesse sounded bad? fucking hell he's hitting F above High C that is ridiculously high and he's hitting it every single time props to him. Obviously it's not going to sound the same as when he's in the studio, no one ever does.
jesse's vocal inspiration is cove reber ex saosin. and if you've ever seen saosin live or videos (not counting the autotuned ones) you'd know jesse's style and technique is miles ahead of where cove was at
Ugh seeing that they played this song makes me so bummed, I went to see them where I live but they weren't able to make it cause their van broke down. They literally never play this song live. Sounded sick though
In Montreal this year Jesse was fantastic. One of the things I heard from a lot of the other people who went to the show was that if we had taken Jesse and put him into Fit For A King that night, they would have stolen the show between Jesse's vocals and Fit For A King's screamer's stage presence. I think maybe the whole camera recording combined with shoddy audio equipment and a really loud venue might have affected his performance. Again, in Montreal ERRA was spectacular but a highlight for a lot of ppl was Jesse's amazing vocal,
There's just no way around it. Bands nowadays are writing parts in the studio that are totally impossible to sing live. Some of these comments are hilarious, covering for the vocalist like "oh it's not a great quality camera." Nope. It's an outrageously high part that this guy can't sing confidently. It's not a knock on him (I sure as shit can't sing that high) I just don't get why bands set the bar so impossibly high on their own albums! Just my opinion.
+Garrison Turner Impossible for him, yes. Impossible to sing live in general, no. I come that high, you just need to know how, but thats another story. Also there aren't as many "good" singers in the metal scene, only a few like daniel gildenlöw until 2011, are real gods. greetz

Omni Codex I'll give you that he sounds better singing on the album than a shitty cellphone video, but a.) he's singing higher than any pop diva out there (which is awesome) and b.) he fucking wails on guitar live. I think he's one of the most talented and creative metal guitarists out there right now. And half the time, he's playing complex guitar riffs while singing.
