“Hurrian Hymn”

This ode to the goddess Nikkal was composed in cuneiform by the ancient Hurrians around 14th century BC(!)
The clay tablets containing the tune were excavated in the 1950’s from the ruins if the city of Ugarit in Syria.
Along with the nearly completed musical notations, they also include specific instructions on how to play the song on a nine string lyre.
I added some drone accompaniment to the original melody.
