Welcome in my country !
You may know Versailles near Paris or The Mont Saint Michel but have you ever been to the Loire Valley which was the region for french Kings in which they built prestigious Chateaux and Castles from the Middle ages to the Renaissance and later on.

Here we come in Chinon which has Hosted Joan of Arc, a beautiful preserved city with old houses, and amazing wine and cheeses productions.You can also go to Vouvray for its Sparkling wine close to the town of Tours.
Tormis Band gives you an insight of Traditional music in the court of an Old Town House in the streets of Chinon near the cellars.
If You come to this unique area don't forget to Visit Amboise which has hosted Leonardo da Vinci until his death.No one knows for sure but he is supposed to have drawn the blue prints of the Royal Chambord Magnificent Chateau with its Masterpiece Double Stairs.
Loches is another town in the region which has preserved authentic castles too...and bear in mind Azay-le-rideau,Ussé with the sleeping beauty castle or even Langeais bordering the Loire River.If you want to finish your tour with a walk,visit the amazing Gardens of Villandry.
I hope you have enjoyed this band with great music.

Love Chinon and Joan of Arc, Love the Band , love the Music and Love France and the Loire Valley especially #Amboise and Chenonceau and Chambord because I love leonardo Da Vinci who spent 3 years in the region.Thanks for this great band to give us an history feel.

@@igniteyouraccountnow je n'ai jamais dis le contraire.
le nyckelharpa est le type d'instrument qui s'intègre très bien dans la musique médiévale, je le sais bien, je joue de l'épinette des Vosges. faut pas être extrémiste.

@@alexjepousseuncri7307 en fait, hormis la musique religieuse, on a assez peu de traces et d'écrits sur la musique populaire médiévale. pour les instruments, on rapproche plus les folklores ruraux plus récents (XVII, XVIII et XIX èmes siècles) parce que ce sont des branches d'instruments qui ont dérivé des instruments médiévaux différemment et moins vite que les instruments des orchestres classique qui sont passés par l'instrumentation baroque (par exemple, si tu prends la contrebasse, elle dérive de la viole de gambe baroque qui dérive de la vielle…). en plus, il n'y avait pas d'orchestres, donc pas de standards pour les instruments, pas ou peu de luthier….
pour résumer, la musique populaire médiévale, c'est un peu compliqué et un peu fourre-tout, mais du moment que ça sonne bien, que c'est fait avec brio et passion, ça marche.
je vous conseille la très sympathique chaine '' l'instrumentarium de l'insolite '' qui a justement fait une vidéo sur le nyckelharpa il y a peu.
en espérant avoir donné quelques lumières, bonne journées à tous.

Sympa le groupe ! Cornemuse, vielle à roue, vièle, tambour et ... vuvuzela médieval 😁 Ce qui est dommage c'est qu'au niveau de l'équilibrage sonore la vièle, la cornemuse et la vielle à roue sont pas très fort. Probablement parce que les tambours sont très forts et que le son a été baissé pour nous préserver les oreilles ? 🙂
