To summarize to people. The go is better as a super light indoor portable / table top speaker with its more bass, just like the sony is with even more bass.. now if you need something for outdoors, bass get muted by cars/ buses/ outdoor ambient noises so go and sony would be muted, jbl clip has a better chance of being heard outside while being active since its “LOUDER” but the right type of loud for outdoor activity which is treble/ voice.
Did you bother using the jbl app to adjust the eq and try to tune out the harshness of the clip 5 but also still benefit from still having the louder speaker?
Yes sirr. For outdoor like riding a bike/scooter , you wont hear the bass anyways with cars, buses, ambient outdoor noises etc. so what you want is loud and clear voice / vocal and mid with nice crispy treble.
Only these people will say having more power is a negative. Use less power then, you have control over it. Clip is obviously more versatile, from setup to more range in sound and battery life. I feel the Go would be useless outdoors and with more people listening.
Having more power is NOT a negative, getting louder is NOT a negative. However there are reasons for the GO 4 to exist... I want a good looking, tiny speaker I can bring to play a low to moderate volumes in small rooms like a hotel... portability is key... for me the GO 4 is perfect, I can stand it to be more directional, up fire it if I want, its smaller and better looking IMHO for travel... the Clip looks cool but is more limited in how to position it, its bigger, and I'm not sure for me the differences in power matter because I can't play it that loud. If I want outdoor sound I typically can bring a bigger speaker like a Flip, Charge etc. (sticking to JBL but there are lots of alternatives obviously).
When doing audio comparisons in the future, it'd be really beneficial to hear podcasts/audio books to compare differences in clarity. Thanks for the review, still unsure which I want.
Clip all day! The go sounds muffled compared to it. higher volume and close to twice the battery life is a win! Also, there is an eq if you want to customize the sound.
Normally I would be fan of JBL Go 4. However I find Clip a better option for me because of battery and louder speakers. Since I'm freeriding on rollerblades in the city it's huge factor for me.
The go 4 does have some nice warmth but I like the wider sound stage of the clip 5. Plus the form factor of the 5 clipped on a backpack can’t be overstated
I actually have the JBL clip 4 and the clip 5. The JBL signature on the clip 5 is best outdoors. JBL clip 5 will blow Sony away outdoors. You can adjust the EQ and yes the EQ makes a huge difference on the clip 5. Indoors if you adjust the EQ on the 5, it will sound better than most small speakers including Sony. So, want a true test, adjust EQ indoors then compare to Sony. Then take outdoors put it on JBL signature and watch it blow Sony away in sound and volume both.
how is it possible that the go 4 sounds better than the go 3 since they have the same driver 4.2w RMS speaker (l m thinking of upgrading to go 4 from the go 3 but l m not really sure if it's worth the upgrade)
I also listen to podcasts/interviews so hoping you can maybe do a quality test for this type of content/voices for future comparison tests. I'm going to go with the Clip 5 just based on what you said at 9:40 and trust the vouch! Thanks for the video!
thanks. i'm just as confused at the end of this video as I was at the beginning. You should have shown us what you mean about podcasts. I'm interested in it for that reason as well. And I'm not sure exactly what practical use an extra 5 hours of battery life is, anyway. If you're hiking or especially backpacking or whatever, you're not likely going to have mobile coverage to play anything anyway. I'm not really sure that validates 160% price tag increase either ... Both cool though.
I used a clip 3 as a shower speaker but the battery died. Noticed the 5 was recently released and just purchased it. Everything is great but wondering why they got rid of speakerphone on the Clip 4/5.
You may need to ship them too me so I can decide!😂😂😂 I like the look of the GO4 and you can fire it straight at you without having to clip it on something. I have the XB100 and I like it.😊
I just needed a pocket speaker to listen to radio and some music occasionally while working in auto shop. My Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is not loud enough and way too expensive for this. Therefore there is no any reason for me in comparing sound of two different purpose speakers. Smaller speaker can't sound better and louder then bigger one which you can't put into your shirt pocket. Thanks for review anyway. I've just ordered Go4 from Japan and was curious of how it sounds.
Go 4 lack some bass frequences but in stereo with another Go4 is the most portable system. Imo, if one want the cheapest JBL with decent bass, should buy FlipEssential4. But 1FlipEss4 is heavyer then 2xGo4.
Hi, do you know if flipessential4 can be use for calls? Has a microphone like Flip 4? I know that flip 5 and flip 6 has not a microphone fitted anymore.
Or just buy both like me today xD the go for lets say my shower and the clip for my bike and also i got the clip 4 and i kniw what you mean the clip 5 Kills the 4
Hi UA-cam community I need your help please. I have got the two JBL Go 4 as a stereo sound and I am thinking of also buying the JBL Clip 5 both of them to connect with my current JBL Go 4. Do anyone of you think is a good idea to go ahead and buy the Clip 5 or just stick with the two JBL Go 4's? Can you all let me know please I'd appreciate it if you do thanks

Thx , cause I want a speaker with me in the forest.
Seems that clip 5 has more energy in lows and better mids. And certainly clip 5 better handles the max volume. So I vote for Cilp 5
This account is extremly underrated dude, the quality is just insane
Did you bother using the jbl app to adjust the eq and try to tune out the harshness of the clip 5 but also still benefit from still having the louder speaker?
Didn't know that you can use eq on these speaker's, wow
you should try to lower the highs on Clip5 thru the JBL app
Interesting,
the Go is warm,
but the Clip is bright
The go 4 sounds a bit more muddy and the clip 5 sounds way clearer it's a hard decision but personally I would be fine with both :)

The review that needs to happen next is Clip5 vs Go4 testing outdoors with a bit of environment noise.

I wonder if it would be better to have two go 4's in stereo mode or one clip 5 and one go 4 paired up in mono..
That is what im thinking about... I have the go4 should I buy a go 4 ágait or buy a clip5?
the clip 5 is difficult to look at
so happy with going with the go4
Performance over looks
@@Hydroy also portability, idk man the go4 is just right for me

I think is just a matter of how they tune them from the factory. Not really sure.
@@NewStuffTV2 yeah, i tossed a quick custom eq to my go 3 and it has much more powerful bass
@@yuding237from the JBL app?
I've watched all of these and they are great, just what I was looking for.
I'm going to order two 4's as a stereo pair with my MacBook Air.
Thank you!
Just got my 2nd clip 5,they sound awesome paired together!

Go is more balanced, clip is more pronounced in highs and lows. Tough one, i prefer go at 50 and clip at 100.
I like the idea of attaching JBL clip 5 to your waistband man. THanks!
Such a helpful review, thank you so much. Cheers🍻
Did you guys use the JBL app to adjust EQ settings?
About to order the Clip 5 now. Cheers!

Great video!
I'm wondering how these compare to soundcore mini 3. Thank you for the great comparisons.
Wind 3 jbl.. sd card slot and am/fm tuner + comes with a handle bar attachment fir your bike
I have two of them. It is a better speaker.
Sounds like the Clip-5 is better for outdoors because it has more volume and the Go-4 is good for indoors.
Clip 5 has nice sound and Go4 is not bad at all. Using them both with auracast will sound great too!
2:29 that was the exact same idea I thought of when I get the clip but having 2 of them one on each side.
You may need to ship them too me so I can decide!😂😂😂 I like the look of the GO4 and you can fire it straight at you without having to clip it on something. I have the XB100 and I like it.😊
I'm with Will ... the Go sounds better and it sounds like it also have less distortion.
for christmas im getting the JBL pure bass headphones, JBL clip 5 and JBL go 4
Wilson is getting a little feisty. 😂
What about the waterproofing???
Both has IP67 - waterproof and dustproof :)
Im done with jbl go. My jbl go 3 sucks. And so it was time to go get the clip 5. And i did yesterday!!! And the best decision to go with clips.

8:45 You forgot about EQ Settings in JBL App
Where are passive radiators located for both speakers
Go4 in front. Clip on back
Clip5 more open.. its ok for outdoor..
None of 'em have a mic which Sony has, so it's the Sony one for me 😳 Thanks guys!
I have to go with the Go 4 100%🤘
Song name? I love it
Now my Go 3 seems to be nothing.... can I get that clip 5 since you have many speakers 😳🙁

I'm really not liking the strap on the Sony..
