- Malot temple chakwal also famous as Malot Fort is a historic Hindu temple located in the village of Malot in Chakwal district, Punjab, Pakistan. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to have been constructed during the reign of the Hindu Shahi dynasty in the 9th or 10th century. We are highly grateful to Discover Pakistan channel for selecting our Travelogue of the Week to play on channel.
Malot Temple Chakwal sometimes called Malot Fort is the landmark and iconic historic building of Chakwal in salt range like other famous buildings e.g. Kusak Fort, Katas Raj Temple, Amb Temple, Chambal Temple. There are two buildings of Malot temples. One of them is ruined whereas of the large building of Malot temple is relatively in better condition but still need serious attention of govt to restore and renovate Malot temple Fort in accordance with its original condition. Katas Raj temple, Bhaun Temple, Chambal Temple, and Amb Sharif Temple are some well known temples of salt range Pakistan.
Today, the Malot temple Chakwal, Pakistan is open to visitors and is an important symbol of the shared cultural heritage of the region.
