Buckle up! This is a thrill a minute look at how to add Zoom calls to your video production. This is the method we've chosen to show you for vMix. Sure there may be other methods, but they might explode your CPU while you're trying to do a production. That might not be ideal.
Maybe there will better methods in the future and we can make another video about that.If you've found another awesome way to do it, that's great!

Please add more than one vmix call line for the HD package. We've tried skype but the audio send via skype does not work. It is there for a minute then drops. Zoom is even more convoluted than the skype setup. We cannot afford the 4k package and we do not need 4k streaming.

Vmix call is FANTASTIC! I just wish my version allowed 2 callers instead of 1 :(
Why not use the external output in Vmix and then just select "Vmix Video" as the video input in Zoom? (to bring the video from Vmix to Zoom)
This is what I can't figure out with any of these tutorials, and, for some reason, they never address it.
vMix has functioned as a virtual webcam for years before NDI. Why is the NDI better? And, if it's not better, why overcomplicate that which has been built into the software for ages and is as simple as just clicking a button?

I have a serious question so how can I fix a problem the I been having when I playing a video live than I click another video the in need to have on preview automatically deactivates the audio from the main video the is currently playing also happens to my main audio device?

Great video! Is there a reason why you're not just selecting vMix Video as the video source in Zoom (without using NDI Virtual Input), which is the method that's been working for years? Wondering if you're anticipating issues with that method in the upcoming release of Zoom given the additional security measures they're implementing?

i'm using 2 pc's and the vmix Video method didn't work for me
I've been trying to do this set up, but it seams like you must be running zoom on both 2 computers in a 2 computer setup. Otherwise there is no send from Vmix system back to zoom. Is this correct? Also I'm noticing that my resources go through the roof on Vmix when I use 2 computers. Could you explain this deeper?

Can you have the audio to be the one audio channel as default without adding the audio as a input?. Obs has a least one audio as default. That will help us to have an additional input in the production that does not include the audio.
I don't run a NDI system. How do you run zoom with just the vMix software, USB Mic and capture card system?

How do I split the audio so the person in the studio with the Ear-in will not hear him self.
What happening now is he can hear him self from the Zoom call and from the Master output?
Will need to isolate the audio channels ? how?

newbie to using zoom in vmix... if I'm attempting to use vmix as the client for POE PTZOptics, will this procedure help kill the audio feedback loop I'm experiencing?
I'm not exactly using it for livestream, but to show a zoom call in a sanctuary. I'm getting a feedback loop through the mixer.
In zoom, I selected vMix as the video monitor, and right now I have selected "Computer Audio". It is coming back through the channel in the board, creating the feedback loop. Should the virtual audio inputs correct this?

I am an HD subscriber so only got the 1 call option...If you guys can just make at about USD 150 cheaper I can assure you many will not even consider zoom cos as far as I am concerned VMIX is the best option for all my broadcast needs

@Nopakorn Theinsiri That's actually pretty simple. Have your mic and webcam directly connected to your second computer and capture the video output using your capture card into vMix. :)
Or capture the second PC via NDI
@@inotopia I'm actually set up that way currently. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow for return feed back to the Zoom participants.

This was working perfectly fine, but recently the video is not being displayed on zoom using Newtek NDI. Tried reinstalling Vmix, Zoom and Newtek NDI tools but still facing the same issues. Used the settings as recommended but I'm still not able to find a solution for the same. When I turn the video on, on zoom all it shows is a blank screen. It doesn't pick up the video from VMix. Anyone else facing the same issue? Can anyone help me out with a solution for this?
Wouldn't be easier connecting laptop in the same network and take audio and video via NDI (NDI virtual input. 2nd monitor if you want a pinned person in zoom) to vmix? should it be even less stressful for the cpu?
I'm asking just to understand if there would be some problem using this method.

Great teaching Tim. Quick question for you. Do you guys know how to do audio ducking in vmix? I feel too busy by manually lowering the volume when i stream. Help please.

One thing the video and guides doesn't make clear, which messed me up. When you're setting up the NDI Output channel in vMix, the "Audio Outputs" setting under "Additional NDI Outputs" must be set to "NDI On", or the Bus A etc audio doesn't seem to get to the NDI channel and Zoom. Somehow that setting was switched off in my vMix.

i do have the 4k vmix which allow 4 guest to be on my streaming but sometimes i need to get more than 4 guest in it .

I plan to use the two computer setup. This may be a naive question, but what is the purpose of bringing the Zoom screen into vMix? Is it so that you only have to look at the vMix display or for recording the Zoom meeting using vMix. I seem to be missing the big picture.

thank you very much but there is a bizard thing in the zoom monitor I see the texts reversed the vmix output in zoom the texts are reversed what can I do so that my guests in zoom can read the texts coming from the vmix output
Check your video settings in vmix and make sure Mirror my video is not checked and you should be good.
On a side note, im having issues getting the zoom display on the zoom laptop to show up in vmix on my vmix pc. Any suggestions on how you got yours to work?

Curious about the window capture. I have been doing it for about 2 weeks and it has been working fine on windows 7 ( yes I know we will be changing that as soon as budget and factors allow).
So just to clarify NDI is less resource hungry than using the external output route?
Another suggestion would be to make triggers for audio routing. Once I figured that out it changed the whole game.

If you could please help me, my microphone doesn't work on zoom, I did exactly what you said and set the audio in zoom with those 2 virtual cables, I can hear what others say, but I can not send my audio from vmix to zoom. I have a wireless mic connected to my pc and neither one work.
If VMix Call supported local desktop sharing without needing Wirecast Virtual Camera out or OBS Virtual Cam plugins. That would be awesome. For a control room or a setup by someone technical. The NDI, VB-Audio cable setup is fine. We need remote non-technical presenters to present live. And if VMix Call could do that natively it would be ideal.

hi, actual zoom seems has changed somthing. last weekend we had production as usual: vmix pc and a zoom pc. We connected both as usual like: vmix output 2 ndi active with bus C for audio; zoom pc: ndi input, choosing vmix output 2, choosing in vmix ndi input for video and for audio, also used vmix desktop capture tool with audio settings "loop". From there on, I should have had zoom window in vmix (actual I had), had audio from zoom pc (I actual also had) but normally I turned down the zoom pc windows volume to 1, to do not have sound via the laptop speakers but I just hade audio, if I volume up the windows sound, if I turned it down, I did not have any audio in vmix (but in former productions I always had - I know that, because we did countless productions that way). And another strange thing was, that I got the audio, that is sent to zoom via ndi, came back to me and that never happens.
So maybe you have an explanation, what went wrong last time. Thanks a lot. Maybe it is time for a new vmix/zoom Video?

I think the easiest scenario, is to separate computer for live streaming and vmix computer, especially if you going to record it will be way much easier. We use zoom to connect those two computers.

hey there,... i want to stream a speaker via zoom who is coming over a zoom call. via screensharing or obs virtual camera it is not working fluently.... what can i do to stream diffrent external persons from a zoom call and a in-room-cam via zoom, using obs or vmix. i have a nvidia 3090 graphics card and 64GB RAM, so is there a possibility to stream fluently without breaks? thx stephan
The method in this video using NDI should work fine. We have many customers that do this on a daily basis.
The tutorial is really helful. But i want to know : how to put a zoom link on the youtube streaming ? By clicking that link I can be able to pick up the video call followers on my streaming?
I did a live stream and added Zoom to vmix. Streamed and recorded simultaneously. Zoom participants complained that the audio was very low. I was using Tim's Window capture method. The audio in the stream and recording are very good. Anybody else faced something similar ?

However, this has nothing to do with vMix or StudioCoast itself.
can't download NDI tools, kept saying "Sorry, a browser extension you are using is preventing the form from displaying. Please disable and try again."
already tried different browser "Edge and Chrome" any help?

if vmix offer vmix call setup and its working great then what's role left for zoom conference ? So zoom conference is useless now? Please Compare vmix call and Zoom call setup!
They're different things. vMix Call is meant for adding remote guests to a production. Zoom is meant for video conferencing with a lot more people.
I use External 2 NDI for the output to zoom

would be great if the VMIX Call would include screen sharing in the WebRTC adding Zoom can be a real hassel when it comes to audio.

Hi Tim, I was using a 4k HDMI capture card which just stopped seeing input, then I got another capture card but this time it my input into vmix is very slow, I mean the videos input from the capture card.
I don't know what to do and I tried the card on obs it was working fine but vmix is delaying the video.

VMIX Call is great, and we were going to use it to get a caller on the program... but then she indicated that she wanted to show some images or slides from her computer. IS there a way to do a screenshare over VMix call? If no, I would definitely vote for that as added functionality. :)
You could get your caller to use advanced.vmixcall.com for screen sharing.

You're only able to screen capture whatever is on your montor/window.
Hi Tim. In a vMix Production for a Zoom webinar, can I overlay PIP photos or titles while a participant is screen sharing? When I output NDI Desktop Capture I can easily make overlays, but not when a screen sharing is on.
For example, if I have a speaker sharing a PowerPoint on his screen, may I overlay his title and his picture on his Power point presentation to make it be visible to all other participants in the zoom meeting? Thanks for your support!
