Bro my hair used to be mad wavy and now it’s so flat and damaged and brittle. My hair is decently long so now I’m gonna have to cut my hair super short
Hey, this makes so much sense! You mention second day hair, and it just really hit me how my hair is always looking its best one day after I've washed it haha! I personally only use shampoo (whichever happens to be inside the shower) and my hair lacks an enormous amount of volume afterwards and is definitely too soft, as you mention. It just falls flat no matter what I do, but this shed some light on how I could fight against it... Thanks!
Half asian ✅ Very thick hair ✅ Long hair ✅ Very soft hair ✅ Only have "silky" shampoo at home ✅ I'm not in a great situation 🤕 I'll try to do something
Bob Jones this is what I’ve been doing, since my hair is longer now I can put it in a bun, but after taking it out it’s still super flat. How do you get it volumized and wavy?
My tip is dont shampoo every day shampoo only every 2-3 days depending on how much it can dry your hair or hairtype. Avoid sulfate products they dry you hair and condition your hair every day but use only a small amount of it because conditioner is like your hairs moisturizer Thats all
As an Asian, I started taking care of my hair recently, and I’m so glad I found this video. My hair is supper soft and straight which makes it so hard to style my hair. Thank you!
This is EXACTLY the answer I was looking for. I was always confused why my hair can’t stand the first day after I shower, but after the second or third day it can be easily styled. I just wish my hair can be curly even after a shower
This was actually great. As I've mentioned many times in the comments I've been growing my hair for about a year now and I definitely have the flatness issue. On work days I'm ok with it because just tucking it behind my ears keeps it professional but I'd been trying to get some more life into it in days I'm not working. Might also need to go to a stylist and get it layered like I believe you've mentioned in a video before.
Hi! I have also the flatness and stubborn hair issue. I’ve been trying to the Cole Sprouse hair but it just goes flat! It’s really annoying, I have to keep managing it every second to stay in place. Do you have any tips?
ive also been growing it out. sea salt spray and hairspray didn't quite do it for me (but definetly give it a try, I'll try every now and then to see if something changed cause of the length) but a styling mousse got me to achieve the results i wanted (its not like a wax or pomade or whatever, its like a foam you normally put when your hair is semi-dry to make curls stay longer but it also makes any styling last longer.
Thank you! I've been so frustrated with this exact issue. I'm growing out my hair long for the 1st time and I was actually contemplating cutting it because it just flops down. I thought it was because my hair was to thin in the front. But now that I seen this video,I realize my hair IS very soft as you described. I'm not gonna cut it anymore. Thanks for the vid.👍
This is the single most useful video I’ve seen in a long time. I’m a guy who’s tried to grow out my hair multiple times, but it always just ends up completely straight and in my face no matter what I do. Turns out I’ve been using the exact opposite kind of shampoo and conditioner that I should be.
I knew my hair was too soft but I didn’t actually think that was the reason. Thank you😂 now idk if I want soft hair with less style or not as soft hair but more styled

Im so glad I came across this video. I've been CURSED with unbelievably straight hair to the point where I'm regularly asked if I straighten it. I'll be trying out all these tips. Salvation!
Honestly I didn't think so many people have the problem I do, I never used to care back when I was 13 or younger and looking back on those pictures of me, it could've looked more flattering if I'd actually been doing something about it lol Hope the tips in this vid work for me

hey boss man, do you think you could redo a video on cutting split ends at home. and what type of scissors to use. my hair has been suffering big time during quarantine. good vid man
I don’t really “redo” videos but cutting split ends is exactly that, cutting the ends and yes I’ve done a video on this with the same in depth tips boss
I'm asian myself and have always wondered why my hair ain't cooperative. About 7 months back, I dyed my hair from black to platinum blonde (which took about 2 bleaching sessions and 2 dying sessions). Yes, I did damage my hair (especially since all 4 sessions were done within a 12 hour period) but I realised that my hair was definitely more cooperative. Jump to the current situation, outgrew most of it and my hair's back to being soft - not so flat since I always run my hands frantically through it after a shower. Products definitely played a huge role as well. My family just goes for the typical hair care types of products
I definitely have this issue. I use Schwarzkopf Push Up Volume powder to help get some volume and grit like you said. My only issue is after using that - unless I'm using way too much - is you can't run your fingers through it after to drag it back or play with styling much. You just hit snarls and knots and start breaking or ripping hair out.
Thank u so much for this video! I was about to cry cuz my hair won't stay the way I wanted but I'm glad I watched your video. Now my hair is full of volume and it looks gorgeous!!! You saved my life for real! I never had this short hair and I decided to cut it that short. The hair artist didn't tell me how I can style it that way. The next day I was so frustrated cuz the hair looked awful after washing it and it wasn't in place and I couldn't figure out how to style it or what products to use, so I looked up for this and u came here, thx!!!!! 😭❤️
This was so helpful thank you! My hair is so fine and I wondered why it was suddenly so flat, this made me realise my new shampoo was way too smoothing!
I found this video very helpful, thank you! I’m about to cut my hair much shorter than usual and my concern was that my hair would look too thin or too flat for the hairstyle I was going for. I think my hair will be fine, but I’ll try dry shampoo first before anything else. Thank you for the tips!
Wish I'd have found thus video the day it came out! I'll be joining soon! As an aging female (47) I never know what to say to my hairdresser. Thank you Salon Guy!
My hair is very thick, dense and soft. It really just does whatever it wants, and sea salt spray really does work to add control and texture to your hair. Use it before blowdrying while your hair is still damp.
Appreciate it. As an asian guy I thought having soft hair was super good and shows im taking care and it healthy but getting some volume or a style was always really hard. I always prefered my hair 2 or 3 days of not washing and now I see why.
Hair after applying product : too heavy, imma fall down Hair after getting washed : too soft, imma fall down Hair after i exercise and sweat a lot : BEHOLD MY TRUE POWER EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. GODDAMN IT
Another thing I've seen that at least works for me is to train your part in a different way. My hair used to naturally part down the middle and I did not like how it looked cause the top of my hair would stick down and not rise but then I gave myself a side part on the left to give it a bro flow my thick hair really showed its volume
This exactly the knowledge I've been looking for. I'm a dude with really soft straight hair that refuses to stick to any style. Long story short, my parents demand I get a haircut before I'm able to actually grow it out so I can style it. Thanks for the tips!
I'm asian and I've got super soft hair -- sort of an advantage, everyone says my hair is so nice to touch, and super soft, always straight, not tangly. "You've got the perfect hair!" but I've always wondered why my hair never really sat the same as other styling tutorials. I'll try to make my hair less soft before I attempt the styles now, so thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I have been struggling with my hair all my life, because my hair is extremely soft, thin, and overall there's not really much hair. But your videos have helped me to understand the basics that I should follow when choosing haircuts or styles, so thank you for that💚
Thanks a lot, this was really helpful! I've been trying to get volume in my hair just from using a lot of product, like pomade or gel, but after a few hours, it just falls back down. Its probably been a few years since the last time i DIDN'T put product in it because of how soft and floppy it is
I have hair like this and I've tried everything. Sea salt spray, volume shampoos/conditioners, curling spray, etc. Texture powder is literally the only thing that has worked.
this seems to be the problem to what I have been wondering about in my hair and why I always wondered why it would always just fall down. Thank you for explining it much more and also I would like to add that I use head and shoulders and I believe it gets rid of most of the oil in my hair so that is why it falls flat after I'm done and also because I always use conditioner. I will try to use the one you recommended now.
I recommend staying away from heads and shoulders. Look for a sulfate free shampoo. I used to use H&S but once I switched my hair became way more healthier and less dandruffy
@@dinkleberg794 I'll take your advice but I onky try to use head and shoulders like once or twice a week just because I feel like it helps clean out the oil in my hair the best
I have a ton of dandruff, plus thick straight hair (currently a buzzcut). How can I use head and shoulders properly to get rid of dandruff? I'm literally snowing when i rub my scalp a bit
This makes so much sense my hair is very healthy and a lot of people like to touch it and tell me it's really soft but its always so difficult to style
FINALLY! I swear this is the only video on doft hair on the damn youtube and when you're searching for more tricks on how to style soft hair they talk about "thin hair" or worse and I am desperate because my hair is thick, but it is so slippery that I can only control it when it is shorter than 10 cm while I would really enjoy meaga long hair to do styles with...
my hair barely reaches my eyebrows and I use thickening shampoo, and then put a very specific kind of gel in it before blowdrying it with hot and then cold air. then I put in some more gel. this is the only way my hair gets any volume and then after a few hours or by the end of the day it’s flat against my head again 💀
You described my hair to a tee. It looks better after not washing it a few days and after I’ve sprayed half a can of hairspray in to it.I’ve been trying to cut it myself during this pandemic and I’m so sick of this lifeless hair!!!
I was always told my hair was really soft. Thought that was a good thing till I tried styling it. Never would hold, would always be flat. Drove me crazy. Didn’t realize I was making it super soft with the products I was using, etc.
Partially bleaching my hair helped me a ton with a volume and texture, I also occasionally skip conditioner and use dry shampoo (batiste heavenly volume)
can u please explain the scientific reason of why bleaching gave your hair volume since i'm thinking to do it but am afraid to because my hair is already very soft and i don't want to damage my hair .
As I got older I stopped doing a lot of things I used to that damaged my hair and I always wondered why my hair didn’t have much volume anymore so thank you!!
my hair is extremely straight, when it’s long it’s always flat and straight, but when i wear a pony tail it stays in that “pulling back” shape, idk how to describe it, then when i cut it short it’s always standing and pointy, it frustrates me
sulfate-free shampoos can do the magic too. Used to have very oily-looking hair on the second day. Now 3rd day is just a bit oily and 4th looks oily (but feels fine, so if possible just might stay home).
Guess I am the odd one out, asian here with mostly straight hair, but if I air dry it, it turns wavy. Also I've got way too much volume, so I actually have to straighten it :/
The way you were describing it how you run your fingers and goes back to the same spot and doesn’t move is so spot on. My hair does exactly that and when I run my fingers through it is really soft. I’m gonna give your products a try let’s hope they work
Actually I if I run my fingers into my hair strands and don't feel satisfied with the quality softness and shine, I just can't function! Believe me good man as if I am injured, I guess you know another freak like me.. By the way contrary to what other hairdressers say about softness and hair washing.. The next day my hair gets much softer.. Freshly after wash the shorter baby hairs tend to stand up... Take care..
I tried this and it actually works, 2nd/3rd day of my hair after shampooing looks more volumized and in the way I want it to be. I guess the trick is don't wash your hair with shampoo everyday, run it down with cold water sometimes

Appreciate it. As an asian guy I thought having soft hair was super good and shows im taking care and it healthy but getting some volume or a style was always really hard. I always prefered my hair 2 or 3 days of not washing and now I see why.
Hair after applying product : too heavy, imma fall down
Hair after getting washed : too soft, imma fall down
Hair after i exercise and sweat a lot : BEHOLD MY TRUE POWER
EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. GODDAMN IT
actually true lol
That means maybe your hair roots got invigorated by the increased flow of blood?
Another thing I've seen that at least works for me is to train your part in a different way. My hair used to naturally part down the middle and I did not like how it looked cause the top of my hair would stick down and not rise but then I gave myself a side part on the left to give it a bro flow my thick hair really showed its volume
Its something about your scalp and the oil distribution.
2:19 corona wants to know your location

That pf doesnt work anymore. We have dark mode

I found this video very helpful. I currently have that same haircut and length and it's fine/thin. I'm going to try those tips tomorrow 🌄. Thank you.
The man has compensated his lack of head hair by becoming a hair expert legend
This man guides people to a treasure he cannot posses, and I respect him for that
Thanks for this video, finally someone who knows what they're talking about.

Its probably been a few years since the last time i DIDN'T put product in it because of how soft and floppy it is
every video of yours are super helpful. Thanks for educating us, no doubt Hair Do is one of a fine art to master.
I appreciate that!
I have hair like this and I've tried everything. Sea salt spray, volume shampoos/conditioners, curling spray, etc. Texture powder is literally the only thing that has worked.
volumizing is the same thing right?
Damn my soft silky hair, no wonder I've been struggling just to keep it up in a bun.
this seems to be the problem to what I have been wondering about in my hair and why I always wondered why it would always just fall down.
@@dinkleberg794 what shampoo do u use now?
@@matthewrickard5050 i use art essentials argan oil shampoo
That hairstyle is exactly how mine is and it's ultra soft... Even with products its just so hard to add volume
Meanwhile me crying on my curls
Try powder
This makes so much sense my hair is very healthy and a lot of people like to touch it and tell me it's really soft but its always so difficult to style
FINALLY! I swear this is the only video on doft hair on the damn youtube and when you're searching for more tricks on how to style soft hair they talk about "thin hair" or worse and I am desperate because my hair is thick, but it is so slippery that I can only control it when it is shorter than 10 cm while I would really enjoy meaga long hair to do styles with...
i've seen that green haired mannequin more times than you with hair!
😂😂😂
Me too, this is the first video I’ve ever watched from the salon guy
my hair barely reaches my eyebrows and I use thickening shampoo, and then put a very specific kind of gel in it before blowdrying it with hot and then cold air. then I put in some more gel. this is the only way my hair gets any volume and then after a few hours or by the end of the day it’s flat against my head again 💀
I should be doing homework right now but here we are trying to get that tiktok boy cut
I have no problem with my hair being flat, this is just in my recommended.
"Asian hair is usually pin straight, it's very thick." I felt seen and attacked.
As I got older I stopped doing a lot of things I used to that damaged my hair and I always wondered why my hair didn’t have much volume anymore so thank you!!
for someone who's bald you've helped me more than every hair stylist
my hair is extremely straight, when it’s long it’s always flat and straight, but when i wear a pony tail it stays in that “pulling back” shape, idk how to describe it, then when i cut it short it’s always standing and pointy, it frustrates me
is your hair fine or thin?
Got the same hair as you 😔
how do i get my hair to stop looking so greasy all the time? like its not even greasy, it just LOOKS SO GREASY CONSTANTLY😭
dry shampoo spray

sulfate-free shampoos can do the magic too. Used to have very oily-looking hair on the second day. Now 3rd day is just a bit oily and 4th looks oily (but feels fine, so if possible just might stay home).
Guess I am the odd one out, asian here with mostly straight hair, but if I air dry it, it turns wavy. Also I've got way too much volume, so I actually have to straighten it :/
Wats ur insta

The way you were describing it how you run your fingers and goes back to the same spot and doesn’t move is so spot on. My hair does exactly that and when I run my fingers through it is really soft. I’m gonna give your products a try let’s hope they work
Do they work ?
I was struggling with my super straight and soft hair since ever, I am thankful for the help
why im watching this ? Im black my hair look like black paint on my head

Take care..
I hate to say it but I’m the exact same way
@@Purple-iz1bd you should be proud..
😀
I tried this and it actually works, 2nd/3rd day of my hair after shampooing looks more volumized and in the way I want it to be. I guess the trick is don't wash your hair with shampoo everyday, run it down with cold water sometimes
