I don't have issues with distances. My issue is when testing new drivers on simulators. My swing gets super flat, I can't close the clubface, and I hit huge push fades where my normal miss is a snap hook. I've given up on indoor club testing/fittings.
@@GolfersAuthority No, I don't own a personal launch monitor. I demoed the G425 Max at a big box store a few days ago (on a GC2) and couldn't hit the ball in any reasonable resemblance of the ball flight I see at the range or on the course. I left without buying, but came back the following day and purchased one with the same shaft I tested. I played two days later and absolutely love the driver....nothing like the results I had indoors.
This makes perfect sense but I've never seen it explained. Thanks Paul! I played my first ever sim round last month and absolutely smacked one ( I thought) and it was only 285. But at the same time I smashed some of my irons due to delofting and hitting off a perfect mat. Going to be a lot of swinging indoors coming up here for me in NY.
I never thought of the difference until now. When I’m indoors I get nervous on my swing that I’m gonna miss the simulator and smack a wall. Need to get outdoors more
I'm an old guy who hits driver on the course 190-210. My two sessions at X-Golf I can't poke one farther than 140. My on course 135 yd 7iron is maybe 110. I know it's all on me as everyone else I play with hit their clubs at their usual distances!

Are you using a Rapsodo now? Yeah and testing driver on simulators is hard, especially if you are trying to a bunch at once.

I think I hit an 8 iron 205 or something, normally it's 155 🤣

Very interesting information. Never hit balls indoors and now I'm glad I don't. 😃
