Two filmmakers take to Americas original highway with two goals in mind - follow the historic route as much as possible, and film everything! In this episode, Garrett and Piotr push through the last bits of Utah, then through Colorado until rejoining Route 66 in New Mexico- also we get pulled over for trespassing, meet a pissed off bird, and Piotr takes flight!

Hi, Garrett! I like your car and I'm curious... did you just buy it or is there any story behind your bus? Did it belong to someone from your family before? :D I suppose driving a pretty old car like this one is not cheap at all, so I don't think you own it, because you want to save your money :D What engine does your VW have and what's fuel consumption?
I bought it off a hippy, I do in fact own it XD, it's got what is called a "Pancake motor," and fuel consumption is a little hard to gage since its so old. Yes owning a classic car can at times be expensive, but depending on what you find and what deals you can make, it can be all the more gratifying too. You never know where a broken part will take you!
