Here to learn, wondering why rhodium plated platinum such as 0.0003 mm thick but mostly wore out after a year, why do jeweller manufacturers still doing it ? Also want to learn, if just 950 or 990 or 999 pt , is there any new technology which allow the most pure pt to craft with diamond/design ?
You seem to be a sweet man! Thanks for the info. Malleability and density aside - would a platinum ring be structurally stronger/weaker than the white gold?
If we are talking about white gold, certainly as good but no real difference in the look of the ring. In yellow gold, 18Kt has a different color than 14kt. It has, to me, a richer color.
14k gold is probably a better choice, because it is usually more durable. 18k gold jhas more gold and gold is a relatively soft metal. So even though 14k is cheaper, it would be more durable than 18k.

Amazing education 👍🏻 regarding diamonds
Thank you.
Platinum is about 2x as dense as silver, but only about 10% denser than pure gold or 50% denser than 14k.

White gold is harder but platinum is heavier. If you have the budget, go with platinum.
@@afs580 Thanks for your reply :)

Would 18K gold be as good as 14K on the engagement ring? Thank you for the response

just wanted to say thank you for your recommendation, its better to focus on putting the budget more on the diamond its self instead of the setting.
most welcome
