landsat 8 is also working in this regard but less spatial details. will be better to improve it to 15 meters.

I thought the statement var area = mask.multiply(ee.Image.pixelArea()) should be var area = mask.multiply(ee.Image.pixelArea().divide(1e6)) in order to get the area in square kilometers? thanks for the comment.Originally it is square meter, but in case .divide is done, the unit is square kilometers.
