Biggest difference between nursing in Cali vs other states is CA only state with staffing ratio law, you have max pts to take care unlike other states no limit..much better working condition here. Cali has much much higher pay rate, yes higher standard of living but mas bawi pa din ,most importantly MAS masaya, more things to do..daming Pinoy resto, mas mura Pinoy foods compared to other states...you can earn a lot of money as an RN in CA, unlimited OT. No regret relocating here in CA
Natumbok nyo po! Good points. At idagdag ko lang din, karamihan nagiging deal breaker yung states na may “Snow”, malaki daw po ang epekto ng weather sa quality of life nila. All you mentioned on top of may mas malaki ka pang maipon, I can see bakit madami talagang nagcoconsider lumipat sa cali. Salamat po..
Been leaving in Norcal for 20 years. My wife is RN and I'm just making more than minimum and we manage to live a decent life. Everything is expensive but if you manage your money wisely, you will be ok. Try these places in Norcal; Granite Bay, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville, ElDorado Hill. These are more than just decent community. If you are an RN you will be more than just ok. The weather is beautiful. The area is close to outdoor activities like the Foothills, lake Tahoe etc. You will be surrounded by several lakes, mountains, rivers. And you are hours away from Napa valley, and the oceans. I like it here because we have both; ocean and mountains.
@@mikeepogeeee 💯👍 Agree po. Managing your finances po talaga magkaka talo. Financial literacy kung baga. Been living in both South and North Cali for almost 23 yrs.
Happy for you po. Priority talaga is you feel safe and secure sa area and glad to hear you found that dyan sa Virginia. God bless po 🙏
Wow,.ang laki naman ng rate if $50 per hour.or above. Sa Bay Area din ako pero indi ganun kalaki ang salary ko per hour but by God's grace, we survive. And, I am not a nurse. I believe, it is the way we live and stick to our budget.
Great job at comparing the 2 states. I moved from NJ to NorCal. Biggest difference: housing and gasoline. Medyo mahal din ang groceries. All other things, pretty much the same. I’m a nurse, too. Thanks for this video!!
Nice to hear po from someone whose been an RN from other state then Cali, hirap po mag compare esp di pa ko naka trabaho sa ibang states.
But there are certain factors: 1. we rent lang. We decided not to buy here since we're retiring in about 3 years. Rent is so much cheaper than mortgage in the area where we choose to live (Bay Area Peninsula). Recent research states that a household has to have a household income of about $430K to be able to afford a house in our area. 2. We're older nurses so we got much higher income than most who are starting out who are younger than us. My income went up by over 100% when I moved from NJ to CA. So it really depends on a person's situation. 3. Place of work also matters. I work in the San Francisco to Palo Alto area where nurses are paid the highest (in our organization). If I worked in other places in Cali, my income would be significantly lower. Hope that helps! Love your family blog. Ang saya!
Imagine more than 100% tinaas, grabe po.. depede po talga sa situation, meron din kasing iba mas mababa ang sweldo pero surprisingly nakaka ipon, meron ding matataas pero nag cocomplain pa din na kulang pa din hehe. Salamat po sa pag share! Happy weekend po 🤗
The key here is make a good money and live below your means. Dont buy expensive cars. Ako and si misis we make $20k/mo base pay sa Norther Cali. With overtime about $25k. Maganda tumira sa California if you can afford it and live a simple lifestyle. After paying all the basic bills we still have $8k that goes to paying off student loan and 1 car. (Malapit na). Also, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND listening to Dave Ramsey Podcast about managing your money and building wealth.
Wow sana all po.. grabe laki nyong kumita! Agree 💯 sa lahat ng sinabi nyo.. Ganda ng mindset nyo pag dating sa pera. if you dont mind me asking, ilan taon n po kayo ni misis? Maraming salamat sa tips! 👍🙏

Aside from sahod if you have Family and kids for me isa sa mga importanteng i-consider when choosing State to live is the dominant values noong State. The values in general affects kung ano ang mga itunuturong values sa Public Schools kung saan mag aaral ang mga anak natin. Assess your own family values and see kung saan kayo better mag fi-fit in kung Liberal or Conservative values. California, Washington, Oregon etc for example are very Liberal state while Texas, Florida etc are more traditional/conservative.
Salamat Jay. Just think that youre one step ahead dun sa mga nag struggle na magpunta and will take any offer at any state basta maka tapak sa US. Bilis lang yang 3 years, get all the experience and finish your contract. Good luck!

It's fun to live here you will enjoy especially the sunny weather, and gardening plus a lot of Pinoy places to eat, if you are a biker or hiker there's a lot of trails on hills and mountains you will enjoy. Shempre madami din challenges o frustrations di maiiwasan but it's a part of life just keep on going. Focus on your goal and the benefits of living here in the US. Goodluck! po sa journey niyo. God bless! po sa inyo and family. I pray i-guide kayo ni God sa tamang decision.❤❤❤
Just transferred from Midwest to SouthBay Cali. Tbh, almost half of my salary napunta lang sa tax and benefits.
Thanks for the information.
If maliit lang difference ng rate l, it would make sense to stay sa state kung nasan kayo, or keep applying till you land a really good rate.
Thank you for making this vlog. I’m a UK RN and waiting to complete my immigration requirements. I have accepted an offer in Lodi for $74 base rate. Excited to move but may retrogression pa.
Wow.. I think po malaki yan para sa Lodi, dahil ang baba po ng Cost of living doon. Good luck sigurado makakaipon kayo dyan.. 👍. Happy for you. Good luck sa inyo! 🙏
California is the only state with a legally required nurse to patient ratio. That's a big deal ! Why ? It prevents management from "working you to death" With too many patients to take care of, you risk being sued, losing your license, etc.
@@estongtotongs7945 Seriously. 1. Is this legally mandated ? 2. What type of patients ? 3. What penalty is imposed on the administration if there's a violation ?
3k a month sa apartment.. that's a lot! I'm here in Minnesota it'[s half of everything of Calif cost.. but as in Med field.. about 25 to 27 hr. ... min. here is still 15.. I believe Calif min is now 20hr!
If youre getting paid $27/hr in MN and offered $90+/hr in Cali. Your pay just increased more than 3 folds tapos Half lang sabi mo lahat dyan. So panalong panalo ka pa din diba? Tulad ng nabanggit ko s vlog, its just more on Housing at Gas lang halos ang difference no Cost of living, groceries almost the same, income tax di namn malaki difference. Sa Cali after 8 hrs you get time and a half. After 12 hrs double pay. I guess sa MN you wait after 40hrs per week before you even get paid 1.5hrs the most? Since $27 lang per hour x 1.5hrs = $40.5/hr and OT? Cali kung $90/hr imagine 1.5 or double pay nyan.
Thanks for this very informative video.. Daming nagsasabi why cali, mataas ang cost of living. The reason kaya gusto ko cali dahil sa weather kesa dun sa nagyeyelong state😁 Hope, this is the right decision, pero kung ano't anuman ang magyari panindigan nalang for 3years 😁 Nag uumpisa palang naman ako, malayo pa pero malayo na😁
Madami po talagang mababasa at maririnig na ganyan, but they don’t really have the actual numbers to back it up.
Sayang, for me if 2 kayo nurse nmn . Grab na. Kc eventually makakapagwork din si misis nya. Lakasan ng loob. Ako mg ako lang provider. Family of 4 . Thinking din lumipat. Pero mas anxious kc ako lang working. Heheh di ko kakayanin. Nice shirt 👕 po sir ❤
Tulad din ng sabi mo lakasan din ng loob hehe.. you won’t know til you try. Basta you know ur numbers at budget din. Importante above all yung rate na ooffer sayo. Family of 4 2bed apatment.. in fact may makukuha ka less than 3K with good schoola, depende sa area kung saan ospital ka din or if medyo willing ka mag drive. Good luck!
In the long run Cali is better. You make more , you pay more into social security so you will get more when retired. You can also afford to pay more into 401k and other investments. 20-30 years of compound interest will be a huge difference.
💯💯💯. I’ll just add, This 2024 the SS contribution limit is when you reach $168,600. After that you’ll save 6.2% sa kaltas, though your bracket will go up but you still end up more take home pay. Salamat po

👏👏👏 Galing ser. Nasa diskarte po talaga, I don’t really care how much you make, pag gusto talaga, may focus sa goal at kayang mag tiis, magagawan at magagawan ng paraan.. If you can maintain same level of lifestyle (pwede naman upgrade ng onti para naman maging comfortable kahit papano) mas malayo mararating nyo.
$80 for electricity & gas - 2010 rate pa yata yan. Eat out (restaurant), mas mahal sa CA. Other relevant expenses: Car insurance & maintenance, gym membership, entertainment expenses
Yung SS at Medicare under FICA po yun.
Anything over that di ka na kakaltasan ng SS contribution which is 6.2% din kada sweldo.

Roseville is a good place to raise family, cheaper than the bay area. If you are a nurse, a lot of hospitals to work. I moved from San Jose to Elk Grove 34 years ago and that was the best decision we made.
Hi sir @taciob. Kamusta po dyan sa elk grove? Been considering to move there since I heard mas mura pa dn po housing dyan. Family of 3 kami and ako lng po nurse
Hi @rapmolaco9987 Elk Grove is a good place to raise a family, very good school district and alot of hospitals, medical clinics and dialysis centers. The houses are still affordable ranging from high 500 to over million. My wife retired from Kaiser and we have rental properties here in elk grove and sacramento so I know the housing market here. Higly recommended.

Hello!
Hindi sya praktikal as of this moment. State tax ang mahal.
This is what we need!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video. It’s very timely for me & my family who plan to move this year to North CA! Godbless you for sharing!
Pwedeng-pwede.. 👍
You have leadership qualities. Be an organizer. Perhaps have nurses in other states write their state representative to adopt the California nurse to patient ratio law.
Lumipat kami dito sa North Cali with $50/hr rate ko (we were still renting back then) tapos si misis part time work from home (she barely work) pero mas nakaipon pa kami dito. Yung utang naman depende sa tao, some choose to buy $60K and others $25K car, lifestyle choices. Sa money management talaga magkaka talo and ultimately sa Diskarte. Opinion ko lang po.
Thanks sa info Sir! I'm now considering moving for the 2 kids n din. My question is (if ever you have an idea) will they consider the experience outside US? Im about to finish my contract from an agency who brought me here.
Thank you po
From a retired nurse: Avoid California like the plague. Residents and businesses are fleeing this state because of crime. too high taxes, crazy politicians, homeless problems.
We moved out from Bay Area after 25 plus years. If you are starting and you have kids avoid California. We have mortgage cars and 3 kids. The quality of life is way better. It’s not that I hate California we have a lot of relatives living there. And that’s the hard part. But long term effects of working driving not good for your body.
First of all thank you very much for this. My family of 3 will be moving to California after 3 months. If you can suggest po sana. Im looking at Sacramento and San Jose area, kaso medyo natatakot kami sa cost of living. It will take about 3 months pa naman mag endorse ng license so jobless pa during that period.

Sorry na miss ko tong comment mo.. Research nyo muna mabuti kung ano price range ng rent makukuha nyo, then use the calculation sa video as reference with your rate offer. Like what I said, its more of the Housing and Gas price ang major na nag didictate ng cost of living sa area.

Hi. I am just wondering if I am currently travelling and earning 2400/week as RN net pay. Is it still worth it to do full time in Cali? My partner and I are travelling right now. Hope I can have response here from fellow nurses. Thank you
Depends on a lot of variables. Nurses here can make that much with no OT (though not all) depende sa rate mo. Factor mo din benefits, the convenience (esp pag may family ka - kids), I know nurses who are travelers who made the transition to part time & full time sa hospital. Depende po talaga sa priorities nyo. Medyo Mahirap sagutin.
Hello sir may tanong sana ako, kung gusto kung magwork jan sa Cali as a fulltime RN okay lng ba na ang primary address ko parin ay Texas. Panu ung taxes and work license? Thankyou
I think kung saan kayo actual state physically nagwork dun kayo taxan. 👍
@@Guzman_Family_Vlogs Ang layo naman ng travel na yan to work. O baka dahil uso din traffic diyan. Worth it ba? Papunta-pabalik.

Or pareho lang? Pwede nyo po sundan yung calculation sa video at i-apply nyo po sa situatuon nyo, then that will give you at least an idea kung makak ipon kayo.

Everything is expensive but if you manage your money wisely, you will be ok. Try these places in Norcal; Granite Bay, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville, ElDorado Hill. These are more than just decent community. If you are an RN you will be more than just ok. The weather is beautiful. The area is close to outdoor activities like the Foothills, lake Tahoe etc. You will be surrounded by several lakes, mountains, rivers. And you are hours away from Napa valley, and the oceans. I like it here because we have both; ocean and mountains.

@@Guzman_Family_Vlogs Yes, mas malaki ang naiipon namin sa Cali. Ang saya!

California is the only state with a legally required nurse to patient ratio. That's a big deal ! Why ? It prevents management from "working you to death" With too many patients to take care of, you risk being sued, losing your license, etc.
💯. Totoo po. Thank you for bringing that up. 👍
1:4 kami sa Minnesota
❤ Good job ka sir.. Salamat sa lahat ng info….
Walang anuman Andrew… Good luck! 👍

$80 for electricity & gas - 2010 rate pa yata yan. Eat out (restaurant), mas mahal sa CA. Other relevant expenses: Car insurance & maintenance, gym membership, entertainment expenses
Yung SS at Medicare under FICA po yun.

Roseville is a good place to raise family, cheaper than the bay area. If you are a nurse, a lot of hospitals to work. I moved from San Jose to Elk Grove 34 years ago and that was the best decision we made.
Tama po. We almost move din dun either Roseville or Folsom.. 😅

Thanks in advancw.More power po.
Hello!
Dont forget if you work more than 8hrs time and a half pay na. So if 12hrs ka yung 4hrs mo time and a half
💯💯💯👍
Hindi sya praktikal as of this moment. Daming tax. Example nalang ang one gallon ng gas dito sa Bay Area to Central Coast ay nasa $4.6 to 5.7/gal
State tax ang mahal.
This is what we need!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video. It’s very timely for me & my family who plan to move this year to North CA! Godbless you for sharing!
Aww.. Glad it helped you po. I wish meron nito nung bago din kami lumipat dito. Good luck sa pag move! God bless 🙏
You have leadership qualities. Be an organizer. Perhaps have nurses in other states write their state representative to adopt the California nurse to patient ratio law.
💯 agree! Salamat po sir Manuel 👍
hindi per hr problems , it cost of living even 6 figures cant rent kasi dami utang
More power! 🫶🏻
Thank you po
