I've been using Springbars all over my 40 years and as a native Utahn it's fun to see how they all come together. My Traveler 5 has been treating me well for the last 15 years. One thing I wish Springbar would make was something like an Oztent, it doesn't necessarily need to be quick pitch but something freestanding. The staked down design is amazing for so many reasons, but it's hard for one night setups in rocky terrain.
I am here in Wolverine Campground in Columbia Ville, Michigan sitting in my brand new Skyline spring bar tent! I just love it! It is incredibly spacious inside. Awesome job you guys! I plan to take good care of her so she last me a lifetime!❤❤❤
I have a Springbar 'Traveler 5'. Its a great tent! Very stable in a storm. The last time i had it out, the tent withstood some pretty powerful 'feeder bands' from an oncoming hurricane. The park Rangers eventually evacuated the campground. Im 70 years old. And, while its a challenge to set-up myself, I can do it. Plenty of room for a cot, folding table and chair. IMHO, the perfect 'Glamping' tent.
I just ordered my Skyliner based on your video reviews, and can't wait to take it out for its first outing next month. It's so great to see the actual people whose hands actually made it!
I love this. I purchased one of these tents so I cannot wait to break it in! I camped years ago in a canvas tent and then stopped. I have been looking into RV's but the cost and the monthly payments along with insurance and the fact I would really only be doing this about two weeks out of an entire year, doesn't make them worth it to me (not now anyway). I love the idea that putting up the tent is relatively easy. I have seen tents with so many poles and sleeves that it's too intimidating. I like simple, easy. So, I cannot wait to go camping!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And ya, a nice little cameo from the guy who ran that business for years after his own dad did before that. He's still there designing tents and doing the things he loves I suppose. He was the designer of the Skyliner.
Noted! I'd love to do that as well. I've got quite a bit in the hopper right now so I'll do my best to do that in the future. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!
Patents only last for 20 years then it’s released to the public. If there is an addition or an improvement, then the improvement patent will last for 20 years from the day the improvement was patented. Patent pending means the design is filed for consideration and approval of a patent. The allotted time for this process is 1 year. If the design cannot be patented within this timeframe, the invention will belong to the public domain.
I just ordered my Classic Jack 100. Tell them workers that have to work overtime to get my tent shipped asap. I am excited about getting this tent. I’m a living confused about this. You show that springbar tents are cut and sewn there in UT but by your website it stays cut and sewn in china.
I pray Canada and America will start producing their own products. We need to bring back made in America and Canada. Other countries are just ruining our products right now. The saying ‘they don’t make them like they used to’ is true.
I've been encouraged lately as I've discovered some pretty great outdoor gear that's made in the USA, like these Springbar tents. One big hole though is all the materials and components they use. I think there isn't a single mill in the US anymore that makes cotton duck canvas. So even if Springbar or others make their tent here, they have to import their canvas from South Asia or some place. Same for a lot of the little components like zippers, plastic parts like D rings, etc.
They make it all there in Utah and I'm sure they try and manage inventory and costs. But they also only have so many workers and can only produce so much product. When their gear is good and in high demand, it makes sense to me why they run out of stock sometimes.

I love that idea. Hopefully Springbar takes note!
Great job everyone. There’s a lot of pride going in to these tents. I wouldn’t mind owning one to get back in to camping.

I truly enjoyed this video! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was fun to make.

Hope you enjoy it! And thanks for watching. Indeed it was awesome to see people in action making that tent.
I just want to say how very much I enjoyed your video. My next/last tent will definitely be a Springbar.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a fun tour.

That's awesome, I think you're gonna love it! I love ours, great for family camping or solo winter campouts in the snow too. Get out and enjoy it!
I like that during your tour Jack Kirkham Jr comes up behind you. Excellent video.

Cool!!
I've been enjoying your videos! I would love to see a video on your thoughts on cots or other camping sleep systems!

So rad to see.
Thanks for the help!
How come they let their patent lapse? Was it too expensive or an oversight? Would love to know. I'd love to make these in South Africa.
I'm not sure what happened there. I'd love to see some of the tents you have over in South Africa.

Wish they shipped to Canada!
I used Myus to order, you could try that or any other transport companies
@@Cazzo1231 Thanks, got a Kodiak instead since they do ship to Canada and cut our own hole installed the flashing kit with a double wall. Love it

Springbar does both. Their Classic Jack and Highline tents are made in China, but the others are made in the USA.
@@theoutdoorempire ok but if for any reason I need mine repaired they do that in the US. Is that correct?

Well my wallet is going to have a sad face very soon. My face will have a big smile.
😁
Why are they out of stock on some products? Unacceptable. They have a very high end product. High quality. But you can’t sell what you don’t have

Made in usa it had to be good
It's a quality tent for sure.
You can donate that to me I'll use it for a man cave lol
Good to know. 😂
hmmmmmmm
You seem like the contemplative type. Cheers!
@@theoutdoorempire naw, being nice...LOL!
@@huskeriderThanks for being nice man!
Holy Hipster hell.
Committed to canvas.
