The 15 year archaelogical study of the Jordan Velley at tel el Hammond did more than identify the place of the 'well watered plains of Jordan' where the cities of Sodom and Gomrroh lay. They provided us with a DATE. On Abraham's 100th birthday the whole valley was destroyed in an air burst, splintering bones, tearing stone buildings apart and melting pottery and bricks. That date was ca 1650 BC. Same aprox date, BTW, that the Hyksos, or Canaanites overthrew lower Eygpt, preparing the way for Joseph to be elevated by a fellow Semite.

That's one move- he moved - then stayed. Gerar is in the Negeb. Shur is the desert to the west of the Negeb and Kadesh would be to the east of the Negeb.
Hey great video, I believe Abram was called in Haran, not in Ur. In Haran, God told Abram to leave the father's household and go to the land of Canaan. Other than that great video, it's helping me with my studies!

No dear Brother, according to the Scriptural account, Abraham was invited by God in Ur, not in Haran. The statement was very clearly given by St.Stephen in Acts 7:2-4.Kindly follow this reference.

But in Acts 17, Stephen said something else. In Genesis it even says that the Lord told Abram to leave his father's household. It's not of any real importance... But it's an interesting find. Also gen 11 describes how Abram arrived in Harran. Which is a little different from Stephen's account. Perhaps even in the Bible, one needs to be a Berean

@@donhay8796 I believe the Chaldeans are the descendants of Chesed, the fourth son of Abraham’s brother Nahor (Genesis 22:20,22). The qualifier ‘of the Chaldeans’ to Ur (Gen 11:31) was probably added after the descendants of Chesed multiplied and become a tribe. I see no reason to believe Ur refers to Urfu. Possibly the legend comes from the idea that Urfu is near Harran, which may have been the place where Terah died after leaving Ur.

According to Genesis 15:7, repeated in Nehemiah 9:7, God called Abraham out of Ur. It seems then that Terah decided to join Abraham, rather than Abraham joining his father. That Genesis 11:31 states that Terah took Abraham, I take as the Eastern way of honor. Abraham receiving the call to move, yet allowing his father to take the lead in the actual moving.

The oldest reliable manuscripts do not mention Abraham building the Kaaba. There would be no reason for him to do so because he met God personally several times when God appeared to him in the form of a human. True worshipers of God do not worship in or toward a certain place on earth, but they worship in spirit and in truth.

Sorry for a late response. Abraham sent the sons of his concubines to the East. This would be the children of Hagar and Keturah. Both of them are called wives in other places, but in the context of his son Isaac from his wife Sarah, they are called concubines. My understanding is that Ishmael had a close relationship with his father Abraham and half brother Isaac after Sarah died and therefore he was present when Abraham felt his time had come and was present to bury Abraham within 24 hours, together with Isaac. The sons of Keturah lived too far away to be there on time for the burial.

Thank u for your comment. The movie is based on the oldest and best preserved book in the world: the Bible. The stories can be found in the first Bible book named Genesis. Abraham became the father of a number of peoples in the Middle East.

Isaiah 19:23-25 teaches about how Egypt, Israel and Assyria (part of today’s Iraq and neighboring countries) will serve God together. God’s interest is about people worshiping Him, not who owns which land.

Ishmael was supposed to be the sacrifice and then as one of the gift from god, Isaac was promised.
There is great significance in the sacrifice. It had to be Isaac, the son who was born miraculously at the age way beyond child bearing. Note when you read the story in the book of Genesis chapter 22 in the Holy Bible that Abraham said to his son God would provide in a lamb, while a ram was provided. Also the name that was given to the mountain where Abraham bound his son Isaac: God will provide. These were prophetic messages that one day God would provide the one and only Lamb as a sacrifice in Jerusalem

June Newton good observation. There are no travels mentioned of Abraham during his relationship with Keturah. Based on his age he probably didn’t mover around anymore. I do mention Keturah in my book Rejected and Loved, but that, sadly, still hasn’t been published in English yet.

That is a long story. Archeological and literary research points to Mecca not even being the first holy city in Islam. See thesacredcity.ca. A lot of what is found in the Quran and Hadith suggest attempts to make the events of the ancient prophets fit an Arab context
