small correction: odile can perform crafts of types other than paper (her main type). mirabelle is actually a split type of scissors and paper, which is why she can use both. great video, this game is my all time favourite and it makes me so happy to see positive reviews
her main type is actually scissors
The ludonarrative harmony i felt with siffrin as i got sick of the grindy and backtracking was great.
as i played SASASA:AP, i had an idea of what i was in for, and i was not disappointed.
The game tore me apart in six directions and kicked salt into the trauma.
There are very few games that so perfectly manage to unify character and player; even fewer of those manage to remain emotionally impactful the whole way through
I'm both excited and terrified for when I end up replaying it!
I just finished a playthrough of this game with a friend yesterday - we played a few hours a week for a couple of months. He started to get tired of the game a lot more than me, but honestly, for this style of RPG game, I found that it was relatively dense with story throughout the game.
The biggest trouble we had was a 3 hour day where we got lost at what to do and only managed to near the end get a meaningful scene at the end of a sidequest.
Also, thank you for pointing out Siffrin is a defined character rather than a player avatar. I found a review that seemed to critique the game for limited input into how Siffrin relates to other character, but I feel the character is there(they also said something about not connecting with some of the characters- and I honestly don't get that part though)
It's awesome to hear that you enjoyed the game!
I totally get what you mean by some of the sidequests being a bit confusing! I was never able to figure out how to complete the beautiful woman quest in Dormont despite spending hours trying to figure it out on my own.
Im so glad this game is getting more love!!!! It was worth every second and has become my favourite game EVER!!!!!!! Hope more people discover it!
This game killed me! Twice!
And then it spat on my grave and pummeled me further into the dirt after i even DARED to get up.
...overall a pretty enjoyable experience thank you for covering it !
im currently waiitng for my friends to finish the extra thign in the ending so i can rant about it to them. its spilling out of my form rapidly.
anyway. goodbye. i disperse forever. now/
Wait, don't tell me I've missed an extra ending. I was so excited to make the review I rushed to scripting right as the credits rolled. Is there something I ended up missing!?
@1cegrim i think they might be talking about an optional encounter at the end? tutorial from one of the isat discord members below keep reading

Interact with the silver coin in act 3 or 4 (the chance is much higher in 4) until you see a scene
then interact with the coin in front of the favor tree
then just go to the tree in act 6, and you should be good to go!
@@slobfern Oh, so that's what the coin is for!
I absolutely love this game.
It's so good!
We can agree on that
@@amazonthesushi4265 just to compare the initial designs of each franchise? I'm not sure I fully understand the comparison
@@1cegrim Sorry. I got ahead of myself as i may've already found a recent video of it. Sorry about that.
The games pacing isnt good but it is close to perfect. The joke of "the game really makes you feel like batman" is a fairly well known one in the gaming space. I have never felt like i was on the same wavelength with a character more than with my time with siffrin. When hes getting frustrated you are. when your lost and confused and a little desperate to speed anything up so is he. Thats why i say the pacing is basically perfect. Not good because it needs to be bad at times to create that connection.
I recently just got this game on christmas and it is such a hidden gem of a game it is so good and very well made
It's really cool to hear that you enjoyed it!
@@1cegrim I'm not even done with it I'm still on act 3 💀💀💀 but it really is such a great game
@@1cegrimI just finished the game and uh Holy shit the ending part had me in tears
@@Zero89098 there was nothing that could've prepared me for that final section, it was so good
@@1cegrim Ikr!! That ending left a huge smile on my face
i guess rpgs based on webcomics are the keys to sucess
Checks out honestly, never thought of that lol
this was a great review and i loved the art you did for the inserts! i love this game so much and i'm glad you did as well!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the art, thanks for watching!
I remember seeing something that made me realize Siffrin died to a huge rock… if it was a huge book would he have survived?
Something tells me the creator would come up with a way to make the book take Siffrin out if the joke was funny enough
@@1cegrim If he died to a book it was just a hard-cover
comment to appease the algorithm gods
I like how you included a second like/subscribe call to action right after reaching the first loop in the explanation, was a clever touch.
I'm glad you appreciated the detail, thanks for watching!
Just found this youtuber and is super under-rated
WE GOT ANOTHER ONE 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Give me a play through, I’d love to watch you play this now that I’ve seen you talk about it
If you still havent seen a playthrough I’d recommend jelloapocalypse’s playthrough. They have a whole group of people voicing all the characters
Ive started act 3 and i cabt continue, help
Literally or emotionally?
