Just out of curiosity, because I have a septic company in Northeast Illinois, what is an average cost on and replacement system now a days?
    Wonderful work though!

Thought you would have used the Infiltrator drain system. The 3' half round covers. Far superior the the drain pipe which fills up the holes too quickly.

We have found success with both types. In this case, the infiltrator tank was a better option due to access for a set-truck. The biggest thing with either type of absorption field is proper maintenance schedules to keep the TSS levels and BOD levels appropriate for the soil and system design

Just curious why you didn't use the infiltrator leach systems

The homeowner chose a gravel system for the field. We used the Infiltrator tank due to a few obstacles with getting a concrete tank set truck in the back yard.

Since you didn't explain it in your video, I'll assume that in the State of Kansas, you have some kind of design and approval process. I know in my state of New Hampshire, the Department of Environmental Services or DES, has to approve all Sub-surface Wastewater Disposal Systems before the on-site installation of a Residential Septic System can be done. In fact, at the municipal level, usually a local code enforcement official from the building department or health department does a bed bottom inspection, and this is done before construction of the Disposal Area or Leaching Area. Obviously, this is in addition to pulling a permit and paying permitting fees. Lastly, a State Inspector from DES has to sign off on the installation of the system, before the homeowner can actually start using it. To be clear, from design and approval to permitting and installation, the entire process can easily take 6 to 8 weeks to complete... sometimes even longer.

We do. A soil test is performed alongside the county sanitarian prior to issuance of any permit for a new or replacement absorption field. They also perform a final inspection on all components prior to backfilling to ensure everything is installed correctly and according to code

@@salinasepticservice5690 Good Morning, I can't believe it took over a year to get a response, but thanks for taking the time. I find it interesting how different the design and installation process is in every state. Again, I'm in New Hampshire, and we require an Engineer or the Licensed Septic System Designer be on-site for the test pits and perc testing. In addition, the local building inspector or a code enforcement official will also attend to observe this part of the process. Then, the Designer or Engineer can go back and put the plan on paper to submit to the state for approval. It's the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) that approves all Sub-surface Wastewater Treatment Systems aka Individual Sewage Disposal Systems (ISDS) which is just the really long way of describing Private Residential Septic Systems. Typically, we don't refer to on-site system's as Absorbtion Areas or Absorbtion Fields, but I understand that's popular in some parts of the country. I've also noticed that Drainfield and/or Drainage Area is common as well. Obviously, it's all the same thing, but I usually go with Leachfield or Leaching Area. In my state, the design, approval, and installation process takes a couple of months, but can take even longer. However, with winter weather already here, it's snowing today by the way, my season is basically over. I usually don't work much after Thanksgiving, which means it's time to go to Florida!

Don’t you know that friction will course the gravel to eat holes in the tank

Too close to the house IMO. I would locate it in an area where it would be out of the way for any future construction. The house I am in now put the tank 6' away from the house even though the back yard is a full acre. Now, any additions in back will encroach the septic system. A few dollars in trenching and pipe would have been well worth the investment.

The tank itself is right around 20’ from the foundation of the house, with the field an additional 60’ feet from the tank. We utilized the only space available without installing a lift station for the field and still meet all required setbacks (property line, well, etc.). Our minimum requirements are 10’ from the house, 100’ from the well and 10’ from property lines for all components of the system.

if it ate holes they wouldn't sell them if they leaked there be callbacks some series prodsuction runs have leaked athethe seam that was a particular production ruin for a particular production series that has been solved I think it was a problem with the mold and the temperature affecting the weld. concrete tanks have been put out with weak concrete that failed. years later. with no generic company in site to. payt for the tank. the plastic industry backed up and replaced their tanks, labor was not covered unfortunatly but several lawyers probably were able to get paid for labor thees days. that was a particular series and brand. thees tanks don't leak if they did they wouldn't sell them I=f gravel is. tearing a hole through your tank you probably have a boulder protruding off freeze thaw is. heaving your tank on a Boulder itisnt bored deep enough--because of boulders!- now your getting freeze thats on a boulder and the tank isnt thermophilic bet you just buriers the. top half in soil above grade dsoyourself a favor ands throw in a heater. with that variance yo9 got and. set it more shallow for the boulders. regular gravel does not eat a hole in the tank. let me ask you this myth makers if gravel eats a hole into e tank why dong abs. drain lines and leach line piles all have holes in them from gravel they don't even have damage or abrasion how is this happening. no there is no friction in the tank your thinking raw galvanized pipe shallow buried in a driveway in Arkansas- my home- iv seen it all its like the thread world came over and shared all their food ideas for free or something- sheesh im no fan of code butt hers a reason for them its not a good one either because the better original designs that are perfectly fine but illegal some all those probvlenx the code haas wonderful reasons for its to give you a job concrete oil. corn man. your whaytwears a hole in my tank my bank tank
solid wood and an incinerator. perfect building it illegal because wood isnt. recognized as insulation nevermin=d it is and incinerators. arnt for year round use even though they are, so go back to your wonderful building code with all its perfect treasons yeah if your doing it. by the book theres a perfect self interest to do the building code if you don't it probably won't work. or have some cost you don't mind paying but I wonder if you ever will pay that cost more likely someone down the road. that attitude isnt America it didn't build it it didn't found it it destroyed it its from erope after tray came out here with their banks. after we kicked their ass. funny how you won't take an insult to your face but you'll take one to your backside where your wallet and your asshole is, you never met the British before have you, you don't beat them once you beat them over and over Andover again its like football the champion plays and wins every year. not on past dreams and memories. kick their ass a gin America and be who you really are, best time some overpaid dirty on the inside and out slob starts runni9ng their mouth aboutknowlede just. erase there chalkboard they brought with them and go back to your own chalk board. this iOS what it comes down to . we have to all do it together thees no winning one at a time because its a law. we have to defy the law as a group. here's the law the incinerating toilet cost less than a septic system that means less land to by and also. no bank loan is. ever going to go out for a self built house. so now. thatchers a bank loan you have to hire builders and that manes a regular ansi code rated house those code are so that normals don't get ripped off by contractors it gaunateed the ignorant yuppies get their house built right its not necessarily about safety etc,. it about the govt stopping. asshile contractor from. ripping people off with worse and worse houses tecniucaly thats the markets job but they like socialism it curesit cures the social disease called greed, thats what people want it. not because they want to redistribute wealth but because they want to create. collective wealth through taxation and. curtail the. rights of owners without losing the rights of citizens that also wan tots govt to make that collective capital wealth system work and control it through democracy there not dools of making untenable systems not exposed top. the market forces fo rpriocves. they collectively tax and raise money to build an airplane company then that company sells airplanes then they make another. company and it sells train then those trains and planes are int he market theres no different market exposer becaus eat owner title changes and putting your cash into a stock market or being taxed through a democratic vote dissent change much either what it changed
