I remember when I first listened to this song in the 60's (a was a 5yo kid) through a tape recorder.... I couldn't understand what kind of "noise" it had, never listened anything like that, initially I thought that the tape recorder was broken, then maybe the track was misrecorded? Now it's one of my favourite song to play on guitar :-)
I just noticed something - if you watch the Ably House Podcast where Neil, Andrew, and the host of the podcast (I forgot his name😅) Neil eventually talks about the construction of a Gibson J 160 and how the modern ones have an X bracing, whereas the vintage ones have a ladder bracing giving it a dollar sound when they’re not plugged in that’s giving off the Beatles sound and at this angle you can see clearly that the J160 that Andrew is playing which is vintage has that bracing. Just struck me as interesting.
@@DavidMoviez I'm pretty sure in the original it's one of the first times George Harrison used the Indian instrument known as the sitar. I haven't looked it up, so I could be wrong.
Excellent...............For guitarists your videos are extremely insightful...........Look forward to many more........................... Could you show us a video on how you film the videos, cameras, lighting ect.
Another great job. Nice Martin 12 string. Thank you for showing the different parts. Very helpful. I know the six string part, but now will learn the 12 string part which I assume is George along with the sitar part. George did use a real sitar but the “sitar guitar” is pretty cool.
On the 12 string using the capo at 2, are you playing an F and G on the bridge instead of a Dm and G which is what Beatles sheet music and UG show. Or, are you playing a Dm but it just looks like an F?
I once had a girl Or should I say she once had me She showed me her room Isn't it good Norwegian wood? She asked me to stay And she told me to sit anywhere So I looked around And I noticed there wasn't a chair I sat on a rug biding my time Drinking her wine We talked until two and then she said "It's time for bed" She told me she worked In the morning and started to laugh I told her I didn't And crawled off to sleep in the bath And when I awoke I was alone This bird had flown So I lit a fire Isn't it good Norwegian wood?
Alexander Enderson - No thats just the best I had. George used a real Indian sitar he picked up in London after seeing it on set during the making of Help!
Very good attention to detail I'm on shrooms
When the acoustic, 12-string, and bass parts are all put together, it is one of the best versions of Norwegian Wood that I have ever heard.

John may overlooked that his early beatles songs made with great riffs.

The doubletracking on the sitar really makes it
It's a fucking guitar.

@@DavidMoviez it's an electric sitar David Eurasian
@@DavidMoviez no.
@@l0serrr.r yes it's a just a guitar with sympathetic strings and a dampener under the string that you strum
Could u make a cover of Tomorrow Never Knows or Within You Without You please? Those are both 2 of my faves!!
I am doing a Rubber Soul cover project now and this video is the best Norwegian Wood lesson by far on you tube, and its not even close.
Thats a beautiful looking and sounding guitar
Love your videos. I never miss one.
Great.. first time I see someone play de 12 string guitar part right... keep rockin!
Nice job! I remember as a teen learning it from the LP Rubber Soul. After a while though the popcorn from the vinyl wearing out made it tough.

Great sounding guitars and great playing:)
That sitar looking like a machine gun lol

George Harrison plays both parts
Andrew Ribaudo John plays the 6 string, George plays the 12 string and sitar
Brilliant!
Nice! I got a pretty convincing Sitar sound with a Strat with incredibly old strings, a "Leslie-type pedal" and some delay.
I have begun to practice this with y 12 string. I also have a bass guitar. What I don't know how, is to lay each instrument track on Garage Band.
Sounds so awesome
Really excellent job. Thank you.
Pretty hard to do if you don't practice for many years but the sound is so nice !
Hi Andrew 👋. Are You Guys Planning To Do Rock And Roll Music From Beatles For Sale Anytime Soon ?.
Anthony Marcano - When I borrowed the rick325, I missed that one! So probably not anytime soon, great song and we’ll get too it eventually
Ablyhouse. I Apologize 😞. I Was Thinking The Rickenbacker 325 Was Yours. And, Take Your Time No Rush.
@@theawesomeantonio4471 - Thanks, we appreciate it!
What a beautiful J160e, what year is it from?
I want a Rogue Electric Sitar so bad. They’re so expensive nowadays
I imagine Reiko played it like this
Within you without you please!!!
I play it linke that, but with the capo placed so there is a loose E string.
you use electric guitar strings on the gibson j160e guitar
That's exactly how I play it. With the capo.
Awesome tutorial! I have a cover of this song too! As well as tons of videos extracting John Lennon's parts

I think it’s an F6 chord, which also can be considered Dmin/F
Must be arpeggio on sitar during refrain. Isn't it?
can i use the sitar part for a cover?

The J160E actually sounds best when plugged in w/ the Pickup.

James Dibden rogue str-1
Yogscast Seagull I have one as well it’s a great instrument.
Is that a J-160e?
Che de qué sanja sacaste esa guitarra.?

YO CREI QUE EL SOLO DE ESTE TEMA ERA. . .UN SITAR HINDÚ
You should just gotten a Real Sitar instead of a Guitar Model Of it
