Wow, Helen, how inspiring and brave you are!! Age is nothing but a number, and it's what you make of it!! Im 53, and feel like my time is running out!! I live for adventure, and watching this video has made me realize that I still have time, and to definitely make the most of it!!!
@@DeaneParkerAdventureChannel I’ll hold you to that 😀 I want to go back to ride some of your trails, there seemed to be cycle trails everywhere, and when I do, I’ll be coming back to this thread to let you know 😂😂
Great Video again and funny story of Helen. 😆 I am still a little skeptical about how the boat can be steered with the bike on the bow and what happens if you capsize. But if a 68-year-old lady master with bravur I should also somehow manage. I'm so exited to do my first Bikerafting Trip this year. Wish me luck that I don't drown. 😉🙈
Choose a waterway with low level of risk of capsize firstly, secondly watch how I reright Roses boat on Fluid Trails, with mates it’s not that hard. The boats a little harder to steer but you’ll get a feel for it quickly. Enjoy it!
Love the video and story. I’m between buying the expedition or the Gnarwhal. For hiking or biking white water trips mostly in Idaho and Ecuador. Any suggestions? I’m 5.10 Ft and 175 lbs . Cheers
@@DeaneParkerAdventureChannel also my wife and I are planning on coming to New New Zealand next January for biking and hopefully bike rafting . Are you having any trips at that time ?
hey, i am into bikepacking since about 2 years and now i want to add a raft and go bikerafting. Now i wonder if i should get the Gnarwhal or the Caribu. I have read your review and you pointed out that the self bailing is also making it more save in the event of a roll over and it's easier to go in/out. Now the question for a complete beginner, ist there anything next to the weight and price for not going with the gnarwhal as the first raft? Since i am afraid at one point with the caribu i would want to "upgrade" and would have to spend more. What are your thoughts on this? And love you content mate! Greetings from Germany
Any Alpacka Raft will last for years. If u aspire towards white water go the Gnarwhal or wolverine. If you want to carry large amounts of gear on flat or easy water go the Caribou
@@DeaneParkerAdventureChannel hi, Iam asking myself the same question, but in this cool video cant tell which boat model they are using, it seams like they are managing ok through the rapids. To be able to carry the bike and some cargo...
@@DJhunta i have none yet, but if so i would buy an ANFIBIO REVO. (which wasnt released back then). It's a german brand. Maybe i will buy it next year but my focus shifted a little at the moment.

Helen you are an inspiration! I hope that I'm half as cool when I'm in my 60s. I'd totally go bikerafting with you!
This is my new definition of epic 👌🏼
Helen you're a real legend. I'd surely go packrafting and or bikerafting with you any day if you're ever in the UK or I ever get down under.
This is so cool, would love to try it! Helen you are amazing, hope I'm still adventuring at your age.
This is such a cool story about Helen and Bikerafting! Bikerafting had just been added to the bucket list 😁
Looks like you’ve got enough on ur plate w adventure by the looks of your channel 😂
@@DeaneParkerAdventureChannel You can never have too much adventure! But yes finding time to everything is very difficult!
Come back to NZ we’ll do some #thisisbikerafting 👌

I thought I better subscribe so I don’t forget 😂 it could be a few years away!
Lovely film Deane! Really like focusing on Helen and see that age doesn't prevent you from doing adventures
Cheers, age better not prevent you from adventuring otherwise I better take up golf 😂
@@DeaneParkerAdventureChannel 😂 you should! low age should not prevent you for playing golf either

Gnarwhal if your intention is white water. The expedition has minimum outfitting to make it lighter
Thanks for the advice, Deane ! Follow up questions Self-bailing or skirt ? My background is rafting guide. 😊
@@chrispacker5242 self bailing for sure.

Easy access for scouting, deep water re-entry, a little colder than decked but they’re a raft after all 😉
I have been doing this for about 15 years ago.
Awesome :)
Cheers Ben, it was an awesome story to tell 😊
