Hahaaa... "I dunno!?" OK, you're gonna learn today, Ace! Yes Mr Barry White was the OG "Mack Daddy," he and his music were like no other. Barry not only wrote and composed his songs he conducted them with full orchestras. He made it imperative to incorporate the strings if you wanted a disco hit. And yes there were other male artists who took the same approach. Issac Hayes was the Black Moses of R&B. He scored abs performed the soundtrack for the movie, SHAFT! Check out the performance of his Oscar winning song The Theme from Shaft in1971. And I gotta give props to the artist who came before them, Mr. Lou Rawls! His songs "A Natural Man" and "You'll Never Find" were his huge r&b dance floor hits.

I believe since Barry's worldwide brake through an other great artist was also sort of parallel to his music. They did know each other, but in my humble opinion Barry end up to be more succesful. Everything back in those were all real people playing instrument.

Ace! Barry was amazing and awesome! That hairdo I guess was his homage to James Brown? He left us way too soon but weight will do that to you. A constant struggle for me, too. For the most part the sound was real. There were synthesizers then and Moog and stuff. But, it was mostly folks playing instruments. Fun reaction!

@@michaelasay8587 sigh, it had to be so sad. As a Carpenters fan, back then it was all a shock. There was no internet, UA-cam etc. where you’d see the deterioration happening. I see it now in all the videos that exist. Polar opposite of Barry. Both so sad.
