I’m glad to say I have officially watched 2vintage do a full rebuild on a good motorbike
Woop woop my boys finally did a full engine rebuild great job fellas Flippin minty!
The first dirt bike I rode was a kx65 :D love to see 2 strokes restored
my favorite channel atm. keep it up!!
Have to say this guys mechanic skills are getting a lot better great job guys
I feel like this channel has really stepped up since "the real slim shady" has been more involved! 😜 Just kidding Chuck...good work!
Both did a great job, remember break in time and let it brap brap!!! Careful there little monsters and can get ya when you least expect it. 👍🏼👍🏼
I use dry ice on the case bearings, also nice to see you are learning how to rebuild bottom to top. Nice job keep it up
Keep the 65 videos up man lovin them
That bike sounds nice. Between a mechanic and you, I would choose you. Great video. Don't stop making great content
FINALLY!!!1!!1!11!!1! A BIKE THAT DOESN'T RUN RICH!!!
Jay franklin i only run a little lean on track but on street or trail run rich make your bike last longer
the dog was super happy
32:1 for break in, will work best. Good vid, enjoy watching your builds, need ya here in my shop for a while. My projects are stacking up, got a KX 500 to do down the road, top end, clutch, cosmetics.
Wtf happened in the past few months??? U went from ok mechanics to great! Keep up the good work. Dont listen to comments!!! People talk alotta sh $t about EVERYTHING! everyone knows better! 😆👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Brian M I think that he knew how to do it right the whole time,he was just being lazy and cheap. I think he got tired of fixing things over and over again and now he knows that it's better to do things right the first time and be done with it. He must've got tired of being lazy and having to spend more money in the end by replacing parts along with the labor that it takes fixing things multiple times. Some people just have to learn the hard way but,at least now he's on the right track.
Good video boys great job 👏
FINALLY. A GOOD 2 VINTAGE VIDEO. LOVE TO SEE THIS BLOKES. KEEP IT UP
AHHH. I see you found a table to work on. Makes the job look more professional. Well done. I know this bike will come out,"Good to Go". lol Keep it up Bro. Can't wait to see Chuck wheelie this one!
I would go heavier on the oil especially bc it’s a fresh rebuild. I run my yz on 30 1 and it runs great
Yall did a good job with this rebuild. If it was me i would of mixed the gas a little richer off the jump but thats just me. Keep up the good work.
Nice one this is the best vid yet👌
WHHHAAAAAAAAAT?????? Splitting cases AND working on a bench. This could be a pivotal moment for the channel. Good job guys.
Great job guy's, great little bike man😉
Chuck... man of many words...
That doggy is sooo cute😍
Bad bike man love it in it have the power band wow good video
The only bike that has run good out of every bike you've had on this channel lol.
They tend to run better when they have good crank seals and no leaks at the reed block or intake boot!
pretty basic repairs, if at all. The old bikes leak it's just what they do, oil always finds it's way to your garage floor. But he has a good point, the majority of his bikes sound like two skeletons banging on a tin roof.
Good job guys, I mean Charlie. By the way Joe, you said no leaks on the engine and never did a leakdown after rebuild. How exactly did you know that?
Well done lads 👍🏻
Next time use amsoil dominator instead of amsoil interceptor. Dominator is the best for two stroke dirtbike engines.
There's no difference between chainsaw mixture than that dirt bike !!
Make sure you always check ring end gap and the clearance between the piston and cylinder. Nice job tho🤘🏻
Lovly little bike !!Somrlittle Fella /Gal gonna love this !!!! Good job 2V
Be careful with the wiseco cranks mine literally broke and destroyed everything and went the cases in my cr125
Brady Moeller my 2000 kx 80 has crank kit and piston and it runs fine
Wiseco doesn’t have a great name for cranks their mainly known for top ends
yea cuz u didn’t put it in right my cr85 has a wiseco crank in it and it’s been in there for a year now and it runs like a dream no vibrations or anything
Don't believe the internet! Wiseco and golden spectro were given bad wraps by a certain builder. Im an old guy n i can tell u that ive ran both in my bikes in the early 80s and up and NEVER had an issue! Back then, wiseco was probably the only aftermarket co out there (i could be wrong)...
I’ve heard like year and some they’ve been remodeling them I thinks what you can call it. Redesigning might be better Jeff walker on UA-cam just put one on his cr250 so we can see also if it’ll last
You guys need to get merchandise . That will make you a lot of money. Shirts, hats , hoodies, stickers, then you can build a bigger garage and build up all kinds of stuff.
Great video. Is it 500ml gear oil in the kx65 engines?
Good video lad's .
But Wiseco piston in my opinion was not a good choice for a kid's bike not because they're bad but because they are too good. billet pistons have tightest tolerances and that means longer warm up times and faster service intervals.
That alone can take some fun away from the bike where a cast piston you can be a little reckless on warm up times and service intervals because the piston is a little softer alloy
you are proving that you can do a full engine rebuild so please do the same to the yz250
Kx60s are known for melting the rod bearing both mine have done it twice finally went to a hot rods.
Hey!! A work bench !!!
slim shady's motor rebuilds
Great rebuild! Though next time I’d recommend a hot rods crank and a wiesco piston. Just a suggestion!
“Should be good to go”😂😂 says that atleast 30 times each video I love the videos and channel though
If you read this comment I hope you have a good day
i have the same problem with my kx85 and just orderd a new hot rods bottom end kit : )
Try to get a Suzuki version of this bike! '03- '05 only. They looked great.
if you make a shirt that says "it hits the powerband perfectly" ill take 5
Kx 65s are the best 65
Chuck-“thirsty girl” 😂
good build chuck
I was hoping to see how the shift forks and gears were in the case.
Wrench rabbit kitsch are best then hot rods kits, weiseco kits are known more recently for blowing up out the box my local shop won't fool with nothing but wrench rabbit good luck enjoyed the vid as always
What is the tool you used to install the crank bearings? I have to do this on my 03 rm125 would save me alot of money doing it my self instead of paying for it to be done...and does it work for transmission bearings?
Wish I had a motorbike but am in foster care so I don't even get money but keep up the good work shout out from uk
You will 1 day if you work hard for it i new plenty of foster kids they all stole there bikes nicked them apart from 1 foster lad his foster mum spoiled him and brought him bikes if you behave yourself and finally settle with nice foster parents you might be lucky keep your head up and stay oug of trouble mate dont rob bikes or do drugs like most foster kids do
I grew up dirt poor with nothing but crime and drugs around me and now I have a college degree and doing well keep your head on straight and you will get what you want one day
You need to check out the laws in your country. You may be able to be emancipated by law to be considered an adult, once you are labeled as an adult, you can get a job like any other person and start working towards getting the things that you want. I know that foster care is a bitch but,you can get the things that you want with hard work and dedication. I wish you the best of luck in the future, cheers.
Superb guys.....another great job signed off !
One question though excusing my ignorance but why do you need to use your freezer !!!!
PHANTOM DROPHEAD The cold temperature constricts the metal to a smaller diameter,it allows the bearings to slip into place easier when being installed and when they warm back up to room temperature, the bearings retract back to their former size and seat themselves in place properly.
Love your vids!!!! I got a project we’re I’m attempting to put a snow mobile motor on a mini bike‼️
Good vid tho all in fun keep it coming 👌👌
Good Video 💯💯
Why 40.1 on the mix the manual says 30.1 on my 2017. How long did the rebuild take? I know I’m at the point where the top end needs to be rebuilt due to the amount of hours on it. I’m by no means educated on motorcycle mechanic I’m wondering if I should just do a full rebuild and just have the sense of a new bike. I guess I’ll know once I get the top end off and see if theirs is any free play to the cam. And if I don’t have all the speciality tools could be a days build?
Nice job!
Why did you go 40-1 on the fuel ratio. I’m just learning about 2strokes. I just got my daughter a 17 kx 65 and the manual says 30-1. What’s the difference in running more oil in the ratio?
Nice kx 65 brother s 💯💨🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
should have used a propane torch to heat up the crankcase for bearing install. or put case in oven @ 275 for 30 minutes.
punkin71 I agree and they shoulda at least put the bearings in the freezer for about 30+ min so they drop in.
Hey I was wondering if you guys had any advice for starting a rebuild or buying a used XR250r between 1985 -2004 ?
Just rebuilt my son's bike KX65 stroker crank big bore cylinder was ported and polished by PR2 set a reeds thing is a beast now woke it up stock they are turds it's sad Kawasaki has to do some updates to keep up with y z and KTM
since slim shady helps you your bikes are actually running
You still haven't learned to do a leak test. Should always leak test a 2 stroke to make sure it isn't sucking in air making it lean. You always just hone cylinders and put on new pistons and rings. You guys never measure bore for out of round or taper or take to shop for fresh bore. Yes they may run but fresh bore and leak test should insure they run great for a long time.
Like someone else said never hone nikasil coated cylinder, you will ruin it.
Damn hella adds
Looking good
Where did you and chuck learn to work on stuff?
Hello, I’m restoring a Honda CR60R and would like to know if powder coating a cylinder/cylinder head would negatively effect the cooling ability. Love your videos!
Would you be interested in selling the little cr 60.....serious buyer here
No, you should try vht barrel paint it's good I used it on a cr 80 1984 and it's good
Dang didn’t even hit the powerband when u rode it lmao
I am looking at a 1978 xs 400 the looks good but motor and trans seem to be lock the previous owner said may adjusted chain to tite and chain came off it did brake would have any idea of what be the problem with motor please email me with any idea thanks corky in texas
don't those kx carry case sealant between the 2 cases or a gasket......?????????i could be wrong
Nice job guys!!!
that's a baby piston bless it. Mine must be 3 or 4 times the size of that lol
never hone nikasil cylinder it takes it off
Wiseco crank? Why??
Where did you guys get your parts from?
I love u guys . No homo
The only bike that runs good its not even your bike
noti gang
What did y'all use to seal the case halves?
Never use an extension on a torque wrench. Just a fyi
Charlie's hair change color with his mood? Last video he was a little grumpy and it was golden and today he's happy and it's dark colored! I've heard of mood rings but not mood hair! What's up is this a new fad?
nicely edited not one swear word👏👏👏👏
Good video
Yes I finally got it back!!!
Nice bike Jaxson you will have to report back on the rebuild to see how she's holding up! Now go have some fun in the dirt!
Whoop!
Ur boy was very proud of himself what are u the brains he's the muscle kinda situation 😂😂😂😂😂🤣😭😂😂
Maybe you won't short shift a 65cc 2 stroke like you do ALL of the other 2 strokes. 🤭
Sposto use yama bond inbwteen cases
boys with toys
I ain't hatin but why tf did you get a wisco crank!!???
8:43 that truly isnt turning freely XD
The crank will free up once the engine is started, happend to many bikes I've rebuilt and they all ran perfect
Should run a richer mixture for break in process.
Should do a make over
