Well, she's inspired by him -and by Heiter too. After all, it was Heiter who said that he saved Fern because it was what Himmel would have done, and that made Frieren decide to try to do the same. It helped seal her determination to take on Fern and its been guiding her on her journey since -though, apparently, an old lady dropping her basket doesn't quite make the cut!
Land, Ubël and Denkin are my favorite characters in this academy arc. Land and Ubël are insanely strong and that reveal he never left home is epic. Denkin has all the power he can get but he just values the little things. His reason for being a class 1 is also sweet yet sad.
That ending song of this anime feels like a movie ending. Probably because of the black bars, but honestly. It felt like when I just finished a really good game and just stares blankly at the screen rethinking my life choices. lol. It has a really huge impact. Definitely one of the anime I won't forget in a long time.

I love the, Tearful goodbye is not our style, it’s a parallel to the end of the season. They end it quietly without a grand episode. It would be embarrassing when we meet again. So hinting to a new season 😁 Altho it didn’t work on your part, the tearful goodbye part 😁🥰
This is such a fabulous series, I can't believe how many times I got emotional in this episode. And it didn't even have really emotional stuff in it but they created such a wonderful world. And such amazing characters.
Land's reveal will always be this funniest for me in this arc. Boy was a genius. Who knows? He probably was doing some commissions while doing the exam as well 😭 He really maximized the utility of cloning.
Serie giving Frieren a 1000-year ban can also mean that: from now on, not only Serie herself, every mage visiting this academy and all the staff members will also remember Frieren's name for the next millennium.
I cried towards the end seeing that final flashback of quick goodbyes and having it be embarrassing when we meet again.. It's crazy thinking that the show is also referring to the audience as well because we know Frieren is easily getting another season. Serie's joy lies in striving for greater magical heights and in her perspective, all of her students have that potential to be at her level but they all leave her before she could share that moment with them. This is why she unconsciously tries to distance herself from them with harsh words, and it's heartbreaking how her logical brain can't comprehend why she still never regretted taking them and remembers each and every one of them vividly. Even their favorite useless spells. Rewatch all of her scenes, all her actions betray her true feelings. I love how her character was written.
I think serie passed ubel without questioning coz even though ubel knew she would die if she tried to attack Serie but she still had thought of fighting Serie. She had courage to challenge even if it resulted in her death So serie passed her@@nanassalaxy356
One of the best series that have come out in a while imo. A true masterpiece and I'm sad to see season 1 finished with no more Frieren Fridays :( My favorite episode had to be the 10th, so well done with world-building, pacing, music and one of the coldest lines. You knew what was going to happen at the beginning but that journey to see how it unfolded and all the reasons behind it all was so satisfying. Much like this series as a whole. Although in the manga it is more noticeable, both serie and frieren have that behavior, it is more like friendship and respect, both know that as time passes due to their condition of almost immortals, they will be the only faces they will see, since due to the human condition and During our lifetime we will all leave and only they will remain.
I just remembered Ehre promised her group in the first exam she'll introduce them to her first class mage grandpa. And then we have a scene of her introducing Wirbel and Scharf... to Lernen. LERNEN IS HER GRANDPA.

An underapreciated little joke is that Laufen is probably someone random that Denken bought some sweets for and now she just sticks around and gets a treat everytime. Weirdly wholesome because we can guess that Denken does it not only because he is nice but also because of his own desire to treat his own children if he had them and projects a little bit onto any young folk he comes across.
Great details about the flowers , it's the same species as the one Frieren created in a field where Flamme grave is , and the same flower species is un the Garden of Serie that we in today's ep learn she fcking grow herself using the spell ! so not only it is the famous spell but also the favorite flowers of Flamme . As understand it, Serie's only remembered accomplishment was Flamme, the Legendary Mage and Founder of Humanity's magic (not that Serie is remembered as Flamme's Teacher, but that only Flamme is the one people can recall.) He wants Serie to remember him and also for Serie's existence to be more known than just Flamme. It's convoluted and I'm not quite conviced that it's sufficient motivation to make an attempt on Frieren, but also very Japanese.

Frieren is the only anime for a long time where it got me excited every week again waiting for the next episode. Before, I'm pretty much tired of anime for many years now because i've watched so many(i've been watching continously for almost 20 years and probably have watched 1000+ animes). Especially when almost all of anime are following the same trope over and over again. That's why even popular animes now like MHA, JJK, solo leveling, demon slayer, etc. I can't even finish those because of how much generic tropes they have (i mean it make sense, why change it if it still works right?) I can't even finish most of anime now i just ended up just watching 2 or 3 episodes and get bored and i immediately stop watching. That's why I'm happy that watching frieren somehow made me feel the joy of watching anime again.

I can't even finish most of anime now i just ended up just watching 2 or 3 episodes and get bored and i immediately stop watching.
That's why I'm happy that watching frieren somehow made me feel the joy of watching anime again.

i heard that the second season will have way bigger and more difficult fights, i'm hyped
for me the ending seems like two things, they'll meet again in ende
and frieren will be embarrassed since she ugly cried at himmel's funeral
like for frieren, the time she met himmel, adventured with him and then his death, is fpretty short for her
its like crying over his farewell but seeing him next week 😂

It would be great if Daken's home town Arc can be made as movie, he's definately my favorite character in this show.
The arc is more than 20+ chapter means more than 10+ ep . So, it can't be adapted into movie.
