The thing about some of these beautiful journals, is that I like the covers so much, I want to use them over and over again, and just put in new signatures. I saw someone use elastic cord similar to how the travelers notebooks are set up, to make a cover with removable signatures. That would probably be a good solution for me. It probably goes back to my old planner days when I had a nice leather cover for my planner year after year it got softer and more nice to touch, but the inside guts were current and older stuff was stashed in a box. So I only carried with me 2-3 months of whatever year I was working in. My planner didn't have cords though, it had vertical pockets on the covers so I could slip the cover of the monthly planner into that pocket.
Gorgeous! Journals in miniature - delightful 😊 Love the tea bag covers. They did look much better painted black in this instance, but I want to try using some and keeping the natural colour. Just need to find the right theme.
That is so weird . . . I am working on a very similar project this days. I went to a Wild Life Park a couple of weeks ago and held on to the packaging for the animal - treats, and right know working it over in to a smal album from that trip for photos and stuff. I left the outside much the same, because it says the name of the park, but I even used stamperia paper on the inside, though I chose the Forest - Theme 🤔I´m a bit spooked right know 🤨Tough you did a lovely job as ever 😉
AWESOME !!! Amazing ;) It's like having a journal book nook ;) btw I don't know if you or yt has control over subtitles but I hope they come back to you videos as well as other channels so I can hear whats being said ;( Thanks for sharing ;D
Fabulous as ever - everything you make looks sooooo easy to follow - but in German there is saying "Kunst kommt von können, sonst ist es Wunst (wünsche statt können). Art comes ability, otherwise it is wart - want it to be art. ;-)
In this case probably not but I usually use it for covering up anything I don't want to show through, in this case the packaging. In the end it didn't matter as I painted it black but it would have shown through the tea bags. You could also use plain acrylic paint
Too bad you didn't have a gold or copper colored thread. That would have been awesome, but they finished product is still attractive. Metallic threads are not terribly expensive either, but it depends on the material. Obviously silk or specialty threads can get pretty costly. I've priced some embroidery threads and they can get pretty ritzy.
I 'inherited' 2 boxes of embroidery threads when my dad went through a divorce. And then I have these large spools of crochet thread that I generally like to use for my journal bindings. I can probably pick some up if I see some but I don't like the scrunchy feel of true metallic threads though. They don't make the best thread for binding a journal unfortunately.
These mini journals are just exquisite Chantal. You wouldn’t believe that they had been repurposed from soap boxes if you didn’t know! Lovely!
Thanks Hazel! They are quite cute, aren't they!
These are my favorite tutorials. Creating the three journals are so inspiring and the slipcase is beautiful. ❤
Thank you so much!
These would be fun to gift as kind of friendship journals. Great as always!
Darling journals and box
Thanks so much 😀
That paper pad is gorgeous. I liked the look of the tea bags before you painted them black. I'm sure they'll turn out amazing
Beautiful.💖
This is glorious Chantal . Love love love :)

I did make a journal like that not too long ago, you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/YlA6T75fp6o/v-deo.html
I’ve made books out of soap boxes and gelatins boxes, etc, but I do love your trio!
It's much fun! Thank you!
I love iiiiiiiiiiittttttt!!!!!! I think I’ve hoarded just above enough materials ! ❤

It is so gorgeous!!! A pretty little box. Thank you very much for sharing, it's a great video.💜
Thank you so much!
Thank you for doing this!!! I love the Alchemy papers but have been too scared to use them for fear of "wasting" them. Now I feel inspired.
Awesome! just remember that you can always buy another pack!

Oh the natural color is gorgeous too! It would probably be good for steampunk or general vintage
great looking trio of tomes 😀

for every video you should be able to press the CC button. they auto generated subtitles.

Thank you !
Could you have used regular paper for the initial coverage rather than the tea stained paper to save on it?
I'm sure you can 😀
What number sewing needle do you use on your machine??
Not sure as it's the needle that was in my machine when I bought it 6 months ago. So I suppose it's a standard needle. I have a Janome DC2150
Hello, I have a question about Gesso. How important is that step for you? I see it’s a primer but does it do something else of value in the process?
In this case probably not but I usually use it for covering up anything I don't want to show through, in this case the packaging. In the end it didn't matter as I painted it black but it would have shown through the tea bags. You could also use plain acrylic paint
