Oh is THAT how AI core farming works? I've seen people use the phrase but I didn't know how it was done. Neat. I guess you could also do it more slowly by just gating into a system with a remnant nexus instead of building a base there, too. Also I laughed out loud at the 56 credit bounty.
I think if you're lucky enough to find a nexus in a gate system then it's doable. Even a system close to your own planet/gate system would work. But then you wouldn't have the help of your station to help break the ordos, which would start to accumulate (again) while you don't cull them. There's also the salvage yards that Rarr has modded in, those work based on destroyed ships in the system so you'd lose that.
an easier strategy is to get the HMI faction mod and then farm the mess fleets in the opuntia system they drop ai cores and are mostly low tech fleets with a lotta junk to chuck at you but its a way easier battle compared to slugging it out with remnant fleets 10/10 would recommend its the perfect mid-game and late-game strategy for easy cores and money if you have the right ships extra points if you have the Auroran faction mod and get your hands on the semibreve missle slap one of those puppies on a peryton for easy victories on a small efficient fleet set-up

With Nex, you can setup a slightly easier method of getting the cores (even if slower than convention Al farming). You invade a world, build a tier 1 orbital station (downgrade if there is one of higher grade), put an Alpha AI core on it, give the control of the world back to the original faction (preferably pirates), and then fight the station. Every time you destroy the station it drops the Alpha AI core (that happens because when Alpha AI core is installed on the station market structure, it causes the in-combat station to have the Alpha AI pilot, and every enemy with the Alpha AI pilot has a corresponding chance to drop the core as post-battle salvage. For a capital ship the chance is 20%. But for orbital station/Nexus this chance is 100%. But destroying the station and salvaging AI core from the battle doesn't remove it from the industry). And since the station rebuilds itself every month or two, you can do this infinitely. You can speed up the process by doing so with multiple worlds and just rotate between them.
i plan on doing that in another lovly space game called avoion but im stictly adding in the fact i can only have my stations the few i would have on the move. ie a shipyard for building more, some science station so i can abuse the random mass of stuff i will be getting from gutting ships and generally just living on the move with a sector becoming a core for that area of activity.
