I had just watched as someone made this card with a die and was thinking how much I would like to buy one. Now, thanks to you I don't need to purchase one I can make one with the dies I have. I love that card. I also love the owl punch, I have one of those too and I use it all the time. Thanks So Much For Sharing!!!
Hi Darlene, I just love your card, and have lost track how many times I've watched it just to see those owls looking at each other :) Yup, it's stankin' cute!!
Nice! I did buy a flip card die but then thought about making different designs so looked for a tutorial on making it from basics on up. I was SO glad to find this thanks! Don't take it off youtube! I am going to need it.
Hi again :) I just had to watch this for the like....30th time lol. I stopped and rewound and played so many times so I could actually write the dimensions and steps. Good night nurse! It's a fabulous card. I only wish your video was w-a-a-a-y s-l-o-w-e-r for me to keep up with. Am going for it and hope this turns out at least 1/2 as darling as yours did!!! Thanks again Darlene!!!!!
You are AMAZING!!! This is such a darling card...so clever of you to figure out how to create this card, too!!! Thanks for the tutorial...I am definitely going to make this, and now I don't have to buy an expensive die ~ Thanks, Darlene!!!
I was randomly watching videos to improve my technique. I really enjoyed your video and how calmly you speak! I also like the stamp/distressing techniques you shared. I'm subscribing!
i love your owl cards very much they are so cute ,adorable ,sweet i love the owl punch very much keep up the wonderful job you are very creative and talented keep on crafting
This is the cutest owl card, AND easy flip card ever!!! Never made a flip card, it just looked difficult, but, now...I will have to at least try! I don't know how you come up with your ideas, but I love this one! Just too cute! If it's a simple as you make it appear, I am going to impress some of MY peeps! LOL Thanks for the inspiration!!!
WOW you created a masterpiece and I can't wait to give this a try I have several thin dies. Your directions are awesome. Girl you really, REALLY are talented and thanks for sharing your nifty video with your fans. Joan Smith
Another amazing card. You make things look so easy. You are definately a great crafting teacher. Thank you for sharing your talent and ideas with us. :)
This is crazy cute! I will attempt this in the future, I just wish I have the supplies though. Love that owl punch! And all those stamps and dies oh how I wish I own them.
This is brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing this. I was wondering if there was some 'trick' to using the dies we already have to create a card like this and you nailed it! Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Hi Darlene this the best ever I watch this so many times cant get over it I love love this super gold idea hope there more like this to share please love it...
Just made my first flip-it card (thanks to your AWESOME directions/video) and it turned out super cute....yea, so happy!! I can't afford flip-it dies you can buy, and thanks to your video, I CAN make them with a few of my Nestabilitie dies I do have on hand. Thanks for sharing this!! Take care....Jo
Wow, I think this is my new favorite of yours!!! I love the cool way to make it flip and the fact that you used spellbinders so that you could do this technique with so many different shapes! And how can you go wrong with one of my all time favorite stamps (HA Leaf and Floral) and the awesome owl punch:) Great video, Darlene! Thanks for always making my Wednesday (and my daughter's!)
Wow - I had always wondered how to do a flip-it card and it's great that I don't have to buy any of the fancy dies and can just use what I already have!! Thanks so much for sharing :-)
Thank you so much for the tutorial on how to make flip it cards using the spellbinder dies instead of having to buy the actual flip it die. I'm new to the craft/card making world since I had to pick up a hobby since I had to stop working due to two brain surgeries I had. I enjoy making cards and sending them to random people who may just need a lil card to brighten their day! Would you mind sending me an already made flip it card so that I can see better how you made it!? Thnxs!!
I've just recently become a demo (3 months ago) and the money I've spent has been mostly on the lovely goodies from the catalog and last year I was part of a virtual hostess group. Just wanted to say that I love your card and I'm going to have a go at making it now. tfs Lisa :D
Hi Darlene, This is an adorable card. I love the Owls. I will be making one or more. I'm looking forward to my 1st convention, It will also be my birthday. Take Care Thanks so much for doing this video...
Hi Nelena, unfortunately the video is already posted and I can't slow it down. You can see my blog by clicking the link in the video description. Be sure to click "show more" if you can't see it.
Darlene, that is adorable. I love the card, but more I love the fact that you showed how to make a flip-it card without the actual flip-it die. Only one thing, could you slow down the video a little. It's really so fast, its hard to do what your doing at that speed. My brain doesn't even go that fast!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! For someone that usually doesn't like fake owls, I really think this card is cute!!!
This is soooooooooooo Sweet!!..Thanks for the Tutorial..I had seen something like this done on UA-cam several years ago...but couldn't find it....and wasn't prepared to go out and buy new dies..You saved the day!! hee hee :) Debbi...
I have that Owl punch and I rarely use it. I'll have to break it out! Wouldn't it make a better card if you used a 2 sided cardstock or paper? If it was 2 sided you wouldn't see that stark white. It makes the card seem unfinished. I use the Framelits Flip it dies so it cuts the work in half. The owls are adorable!
Teena - thank you! You can still buy the owl punch. Go to my blog post (in the description above), and see the link in the "supplies" section. The paper is Neenah - it is also listed under supplies.
Great video...I actually LOVE the speed! One can focus on the details and get the job done! Very cute card, wish the owl dies were still available. Love The "movement" of the owl's eyes!! Great detail. First time I've seen anyone use your technique to ink the paper to get the texture and color you want, very nice!! I am very new to die cutting, having bought a Cuttlebug on Amazon just a month ago. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us on youtube!!
Hey..you are really good! Great video. Not sure that my attention span is advanced enough to encompass all the steps on that card, but I can envision eliminating a few of the details and making it a bit less intricate but still amazing to accommodate my level of skill and focus. I've been trying to figure out how to do that swing phone saying for months. Duh! I should have just gone to UA-cam and found your tutorial! Thanks again for a very helpful lesson.
Wow you did this card and made it look sooo simple and it was perfect. Can you tell me if you can still get the owl set punch and what type of paper you were using for the distress inking I thought you sain Neen paper but not sure. Thank you for sharing.
I love the quickness of your videos, as a seasoned stamper I don't need to SEE you do all the steps. thanks for all you great videos!
I had just watched as someone made this card with a die and was thinking how much I would like to buy one. Now, thanks to you I don't need to purchase one I can make one with the dies I have.
