I don’t think it was far enough up on the trailer to do that…..too much weight on the back of that boat. But getting it back in the water was the best bet…..
Think your estimate is way low, gettin wrecker out there will eat up better than half of $2K, not counting damage to boat. That boat owners gonna find out how good a friend (that Freespooled winch) he really has. This video shows what it is really like at a boat ramp some of the time. Thanks for the video.
That's why I'll never own a roller trailer. These guys failed to put the securing chain on the bow eye- and when they started up the tank with only the winch holding it- the winch cable snapped. Bad ass rotator though!
I once owned a 20 foot cuddy cruiser I/O and trailed it well on a dual axel all roller trailer. the boat only weighed 2500#. It was a dream loading and unloading. One thing I never did was unhook the cable from the power winch to the bow hook until the boat was backed mostly into the water. Never trust the rollers to hold a boat on an incline without restraint from the cable!
Good job. Truck strikes me as not enough for the size of the boat. Poor trailer fit and unmaintained winch. A strap winch would be better than a wire rope for that rig.
Damn Tyler, it’s about 50/50 ratio here lately road versus water!🤣 At any rate it shows you guys are try professionals, no matter the situation a professional knows how to get it done! Nice job as usual, wouldn’t expect anything less, keep it up and keep em’ coming!💪👊
I like the space of the new boxes, but I am still getting used to the new touch screen controls. I think the switches on the older style controls are definitely quicker to operate, however you can only operate them from the driver side. It's nice to be able to control everything from both sides of the truck on the new touch screen, and I think I will like it more the more I consistently use it.
Curious if they kicked the tow truck in neutral when the boat was lifted, sort of a pull the truck under the boat instead of pulling the boat up the trailer? Nice Save from a bad day at the ramp! 👍😁
If you were to buy another rotater would you buy another slider?? I’ve ran rotaters before retiring but never a slider or sliding rotater. Some guys I’ve talked to loved em,others not so much. Does it complicate matters for inexperienced operators who are on a steep learning curve.
A sliding rotator is probably the only kind we will ever own. It is just a way more versatile machine, in my opinion. I personally don't think it complicates things, but instead makes setting the truck up a little bit more forgiving on placement at a scene
So if he had the 2 straps on the stern of the boat then the boat wouldn't have slid off of the trailer when the winch cable broke. Those rollers didn't help either.
Did they look at the transom and out drive to check for damage before putting it in the water? Probably would have been easier to pick up the whole boat and put it on the trailer…you had the unit to do it! Good job as usual hope to see you in a few weeks till then take care!
They put it in the water long enough to get it positioned on the trailer and then immediately removed it. It really didn't look like much damage at all, surprisingly! What week are you coming to visit?!
I hope he took a REALLY good look at his outdrives and transom before releasing it from the winch cable. There could be some serious water leaks back there.
Gotta Love those Boat Owners. You know what they say about BOAT (Break Out Another Thousand). Great Job in getting them going.
pretty much that was the cost of the use of the rotator around a grand Yep BOAT - BUST OUT ANOTHER THOUSAND
Sometimes Boat Ramps are the Best Show in Town.
Absolutely!
I'd imagine a boat with trailer lift on a ramp is fairly awkward lift. Great job. That trailer didn't look to be the best fit for that boat however.
Must be a great feeling to have boaters that are also experienced recovery guys ,hmm !
I was thinking the same thing. These guys sure like to hear themselves talk and “know it all”
Tyler did good keeping his patience with them.
I love that green on the rotator wish I could see it in person
Outstanding job Mr Wilcox Boats are fun but very expensive to own .. Take care and enjoy your Saturday
Thank you!
Exactly why I wouldn’t use a roller trailer
dude you got five 200lb guys sit on the tailgate and get the back of truck down and trailer willcome off the ground...jeeez
Never thought of that at the time 😂
I like it !then you could drift the truck down to the trailer reattach and you are on your way.
I don’t think it was far enough up on the trailer to do that…..too much weight on the back of that boat. But getting it back in the water was the best bet…..
Always fun to watch when it is not my boat! Hope boat boy has at least $2k in his pocket!!

thats a four winns 248 vista.. its a 6k lb boat.. should be on a 6 lug axle trailer, not 5 lug. that trailer is underrated for the boat

Welcome back, Wilcox!
Nice job Tyler.
Awesome .
Old school tip to get a boat all the way on when the winch won't do it is drive forward and hit the brakes .
Uhhh. "I don't think so Tim."
Especially when the trailer probably needs one more axle to begin with
Sounds risk free
Did he put the bungs in? Wait for the second chapter. Ian
They put the boat in long enough to reposition it on the trailer, then pulled it right back out.
Wilcox Garage, Very funny video!
Great video
Great job
We used to call those tragic - tilt trailers
now thats a tow truck!!
Interesting winch out.
Great boat float!!!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁
Sure alot of water rescues on this channel! Lol
Going need a submarine! 😂
Maybe we'll buy one of those next 😂
Good job. Truck strikes me as not enough for the size of the boat. Poor trailer fit and unmaintained winch. A strap winch would be better than a wire rope for that rig.
Thank you! I definitely prefer the strap vs a cable on the winch too

Whatever pays the bills 😂
Do you prefer the older style control system vs the new touch screen control interface

No, we tried utilizing the slide feature on the rotator to move it forward on the trailer though and it didn't seem to help.

You need to get a TRIPOD !!
So if he had the 2 straps on the stern of the boat then the boat wouldn't have slid off of the trailer when the winch cable broke. Those rollers didn't help either.

The boat was in the water long enough to get it centered and all the way on, then was removed
Tons of chiefs telling the one Indian how to do it (BTW the Indian was the only one already expertly trained to do said job)
seems like when the back was picked up they could have backed the truck and trailer under the boat.
👋
would you not use one of the truck winches with a snatch block to front of trailer to the boat ?
For no more than the weight of the boat is, the winch would most likely drag the trailer sideways
Hope they put the plug in the boat....
He doesn't have enough truck or trailer for that big of boat on that steep incline.
Not an unusual with boats & could have been simply pulled by onto trailer.
Please go oversize on the trailer!
Roller trailers are the worst
Those easy load trailers boats just roll off them also.
I might just have a guess that the trailer is the wrong size and loading for the boat....Just a guess like.
I once spent a couple hours in Sandusky's jail. I've grown up since then.
This is why you shouldn't buy roller trailers.
Too much boat.
those trailers are the worst. boats will roll off them going down the road
Wouldn't pay the wrecker cost for that boat...
"keep going, back trailer & truck into water - cya later"
🤔🤑🤑2k🕞🕟
A little bit less than that...
