I read where Tommy Roe had to retire from performing due to a heart attack he had suffered. Tommy, I’m sorry you had to retire from the music business but I enjoyed your music and your songs. Thank you for the memories
🙏
On March 15 , 1969, this song was at the top of the charts. I remember girls in the hallways at school singing this as they headed to class!
And the world is a much better place with Tommy Roe and his silly but catchy, one off, bubble gum wonders. I still love them all.
Loved this song as a kid, I still do!!!
I'm rocking out here like 25 years after the last time I've heard this lyrics intact!
Just puts a smile on you face just good clean fun all American music.
Tell me about it, Janet!
Poof just like that I’m 9yrs young again, thank you for this!💕💕💕
We're the same age. 🙂 Those were the days, my friend!
This song brings back a lot of memories! #1 in 1969! I was 8 years old when it came out!
Me too !
Same here! 👍
I was 6
9 years old. Great times to be a kid. The summer of 1969! Buying my Snickers Paydays Butterfinger Almond Joys Zero bars Hershey bar for 5¢ each. Hostess fruit pies cupcakes ding dongs Twinkies for 10¢ each. Coke or Pepsi for 10¢ a bottle and got back a nickel on each bottle return. Doritos taco flavor or cheese for 10¢. Took it all home in a free paper bag on my brand new 1969 Schwinn Stingray bike with the sissy bar, banana seat, extra long forks and gold metal flake paint. No need to buy 25¢ a gallon gasoline 109 octane. Different people different era different styles different values different music different time different country never to return again. Glad I lived it, like 10's of millions of kids alive then and now.
I was 10. Just,... when the " GIRL " thing started kicking me in the ass!
Ahhh, those memories! So glad to be a late " Boomer! "
Killer bass lines !
Joe Osborne is the bassist on this.
@@msoileau83 thanks !
One of my mom's favourite songs miss you so much 😔😔😔
My late mother favorite song too😢
Dizzy was the very first 45 I purchased myself. Played it every day for a long time!
ME TOO, my first record for my 12th birthday. I loved the flip side "The You I Need", and played it until it wouldn't play any more.
My father bought me my first am pocket transistor radio in the early 70's. This is one of the songs I remember hearing on it. I love it.
I loved this when it first came out, my friend and I use to dance and sing along with it
1969, a great year for this classic, man landing on the moon, the best Bond movie....and my birth in June
I used to love this song as a little kid!
At 67 I still like DIZZY
I did too. It came out in 1969 and I was 12 and had just moved from Rhode Island to California. I remember it was my favorite song and then Hair by The Cowsills.
One of my favorite 60s tunes. Was bummed to find a Tommy Roe Greatest Hits vinyl in pristine condition and this wasn't on it :(
Love this song! Had to learn to play the drums for it, what a great beat!🤍🤍🦋🦋🦋🥁
Hal Blaine deserves lots of credit for making this song a big hit!
I was living in the same town with Linda Blair the first time I heard this song, four years before her turn in 'The Exorcist'; and my name is Tommy.
True story!
Love this song
Oh childhood memories in Germany of my second grade class dancing to this song because my teacher loved it so much 😍🎶♥️💯
Thank you for sharing this memory!
Just wrote to him for autographs...just got them back...one of my favorite 60s singer!
Love this song.
Number 1 on March 15th 1969. A catchy tune from HS days
First 45 single I ever bought. I was 9 yo.
Despite being a music nerd, I actually had never heard of this song until recently. I'm more familiar with Tommy Roe's other big hit, "Sheila."
pop을 처음 접한 1977년(중학교 1학년)에 처음 듣고 2023년인 지금도 pop을 들을 때면 늘 빠지지 않는 명곡!!! 감사합니다. 잘봤습니다.^^
When clean cut met sideburns, dad said I could buy the 45.
It’s amazing I keep going is that what these guys look like in these older videos.

Thank you for the greatest music memory ever
Such an innocent sweet song.
#1 in South Africa for 2 weeks
Nice one Sammy, great sync! I never knew the Wrecking Crew was backing this. Thanks!
Thanks John. I just found out myself!
Joe Osborne plays bass on this.
Those drums were Hal Blaine, of course, and he deserves more credit for this being a big hit.

I did not know he had a heart attack. I was so in love with him when I was in my early twenties, I still love him. I watch hi is video frome 1969 every night before I go to bed.
Very cool high school song. 😎 Thanks Tommy.
This drum beat was sampled by David Holmes on his remix of Justin Warfield's Live from the Opium Den
Love this-I was 9 in 1969😅

노래 너무 좋아해서 가수 얼굴 궁금했는데
젊은시절 얼굴이네요

Great matching of stereo to this HQ video Sammy.
Many thanks Jacob.
Ich mag die Musik aus dieser Zeit. Diese Musik ist unvergänglich. Kein Vergleich mit heute. Leider.
Stimme voll !
Back when music videos were just -- um, music and video.
Pristine quality! Thanks.
You're welcome!
C👀L Song 💃🕺
Brilliant 🤩
GREAT Job at the 4k!
Wow, talk about bubble gum music ❤️
In a young pop song video,I think:
Why was he in a tuxedo?
Why not in a psychedelic shirt, for example?
I know psychedelic fashion was over in 1969,but some colorful shirt would be great in that promo!

Day 6921. 3 x 3 x 769. Raw honey and apple and all of my urine til 1.00pm then dried figs and apple and lettuce and distilled water then more urine then fresh fruit and vegetables and other foods at 7.00pm. No change.
Is it just me? or does his voice sound like a cartoon character?
Lip-syncing was so sad and goofy.
