Worked with these when I worked at a HiFi store, had them paired to some Forte IVs and Heresey's, they were ok.

I love the American "Tubes" lol it's kind of cute however in the rest of the world it's a valve and valve amps come in many flavours. The PP and SE the hybrid , like you mentioned but the one that doesn't get mentioned that often are OTL .. They are a special breed. To tell you what an OTL sounds like is hard but to try...It's like a solid state and SE with a little PP.. However it's the 3D soundstage that we give to SE's but more with more solid imaging.. The removal of the output transformers does something special .. I'm going to leave it there.. There is no better valve amp because they are so hard to design..Go Google great video guys 🙂

I’ve always preferred running a tube pre with a ss amp when it comes to separates. The combination just sounds right to me. This hybrid integrated is definitely something I’d look at if I were to simplify my setup

I had an EVO 300 and 400 and they were great with great sound stage but they don’t beat my Conrad Johnson’s for detail.

Rarely hear amp without fault .
Everything has strengths and weaknesses. Problem is, it’s 100% subjective and will be totally different on each persons system, room, and ear. Part of why we keep our reviews pretty basic. Also it’s my experience that at this level or tier of gear, it’s really just pretty great overall. I’ve got nothing that pops to mind based on the intent of the design and the consumer it was intended for. 😃😃
I hear some primaluna stuff a few years ago and was not impressed. I have been told that their quality has improved, so I am eager to try them again.
I have a Gen 1 Dialogue Premium, and it's pretty nice. I would say, give them a listen.. :)
They are excellent and built like a tank!! I have a 10+ yo Prologue Premium working like day one. Some people don't like PrimaLunas and/or are not impressed by them because they don't sound "tubey" enough (i.e. not boomy, not distorted). And that's true, they sound more like a high-end solid state amp than an old fashioned tube amp... very subtle tube sound but beautiful and polite. If you want the old fashioned tube sound you should go for something else.
Well said. These modern hi watt tube amps are exactly as you say. If you really want that “Tube Vibe” get a 300b tube amp of a single ended triode or pentode amplifier of the 5 watt variety. 🤣😍🤗
@@abxaudiophiles yes, I agree 100%. Almost any 300b or 2a3 triode amp will have that tubey sound.... PrimaLunas play in a different league, I think they try to have a "modern sound" similar to McIntosh tube amps (the current ones, not vintage).

If you're referring to the Primaluna 300 Hybrid, and I think you are. It's 100 watts @ 8 Ohms/150 watts @ 4 Ohms. ✌️

@@abxaudiophiles I have older Prima Luna Prologue Six monoblocs that I sometimes run in the winter months to mix it and warm up the chilly listening room. Otherwise, its older Linn amps. I get your excitement.
