Thank you! Yeah, ain’t no need to mislead with that type of price point, lol. Most of the Vivo diehards love every model, but that doesn't mean everyone should run and buy them ffs
I’ve had these for about a year and have to say I like these better than the not all weather ones. I live in a semi urban area and did feel great to have an all season shoe. The water resistant upper definitely has held up to tearing around the toe area that I almost always go through with shoes after about 6-12 months. Surprisingly my stitching has almost held up at the toe break. On the medial side it just recently started to thread about 9 months of consistent use through daily wear, running, lifting, plyos, and ATG styled training. Would definitely buy again but have something breathable for the summer.
@@mainsourcery I found it does! I don’t recommend doing this but my fiancé and I went to a water park and I didn’t have water shoes so I was like why not keep these on. My socks stayed dry even after full submerging them. With that being said, I think my mistake was doing since the chlorine probably wore out the protection a tad faster. They’ve kept my feet drying running in puddles and being outside after that still for about a year.
Currently shopping for a new pair of shoes right now, and the moment you mentioned that you also live in Austin & brought up the weather I immediately knew this shoe wouldn't be for me. I'll get something from Vivobarefoot for sure. Just not the AW version.
I got the trial knit FG, returned because of the problem you mentioned about pressing into my feet. I am wondering for all the vivo training/running shoes you've tested, which models don't have this problem (at least not that obvious)?
Hey, I was wondering if you could help me make a choice by answering the following question. I am between the Primus Lite 3, the Primus Lite knit, and this all weather model. Ignoring the weather resistance part, which do you get more use out of, or to put it in other words, which do you reach for more often, the knit or the lite 3/4? I am mainly going to be using these for light casual and lifting at the gym. Thanks.
3 and then knit! If you like knit shoes, though, then you'll likely find the knit to be the best. I'm just a sucker for the traditional laces on the 3. I actually have some knit and 3 in stock on That Fit Friend Shop if you're based in the states and plan to buy a pair. DM me and I'll make a special UA-cam coupon for you!
@@thatfitfriend thanks for the reply. I was leaning that way too. Unfortunately i’m not in the states but I hope someone sees this comment and makes use of the coupon offer!
In the sizing section you said if you sized down to a size ten it would be to snug but then in the measurement section you said in my size 10, what size did you get?
@thatfitfriend I've already been transitioning into barefoot shoes. I've worn casual daily barefoot shoes all through the spring/summer months. My running shoes are Normal healed Nike Runners and there has been no issues (the treads on my runners are pretty worn down at this point). However... Now the weather's turned I've had to change into my old regular healed boots and starting to have issues with pains in my legs and knees, especially after running. So I'm looking to switch to a barefoot running shoes best suited for really hard surface like road and pavements. Is it better to have a small tread or flatter tread as I'm worried about the surface impact on my feet/legs? Also going to buy winter barefoot boots to see if it resolves the pain issues. Wondering if switching between barefoot and heals is causing the pains. I appreciate your expertise.
@@Mangeosaurus Interesting! In this case, it might be the shoes, but I'd suggest keeping an open mind because the shoes may just be what's highlighting something else going on. With something like this, I think the best course of action is always "test and see". I don't know your injury history/training history/anatomy/know how you move, so I'm down to make suggestions, but we need more data before saying any thing definitively or with more weight. For your case, you may want to explore getting a barefoot shoe, then putting in an insole that will give you a little more cushion to help with the ease in period. Something like the Primus Trail Knit AW with a different insole could be a play. You could also look at models from Altra/Topo which have a midsole but a zero-drop construction to see if that helps at all while still wearing your barefoot shoes as you are now. All that said, I'd do one of the two above, try it for a few a weeks, track that data, then we can revisit based on what your body is presenting with! Does that make sense?
@thatfitfriend Thanks so much for guidance. I will look at getting a pair of the suggested shoes and see how things go. Its frustrating on my part. I'm 54 in January. I have been running approx 10.5k three consecutive nights a week, (when not in work) without issue for about 3 years. Suddenly now starting with leg and knee pains. I can only summarise it's the changing of shoe types... that or accepting the fact I'm just getting OLD! Anyhow, thanks again and much appreciated. 👍🏻
Does it stink though with the insoles inside, like the Primus Lite IIIs? I found the stink went away when I removed the insoles, and I just sun my Lite IIIs that day or the next after a run or heavy workout, and we're good. Also since you mentioned the Zelens for running, just wanted to ask if those stink?
@@thatfitfriend I see gotcha. Thanks brother. I've been doing a lot of leg work recently around Singapore (home), and we just came to Malaysia for our daughter to enjoy LegoLand, and I added the soles back to the IIIs. My god what a difference that makes they feel comfortable now LOL. I was walking around without the soles for a year or two, in the name of being "Barefoot" and my feet hurt like crazy. And the Lite IIIs for exercise (now torn slightly at the netting), just ordered another pair after 2 years after watching your review about the breathability and the heat. Hi there, thanks for the video, have you tried Vivobarefoot Primus Trail III All Weather FG? I live in cool/wet city and I do short road running 5-10k on 80% asfalt/paved road with occasional trail/hiking and I am looking for a do it all barefoot shoes, any recommendations😅?
Hey! Would you recommend these for office wear, walking, running, and HIIT type workouts? I have the primus lites knit and the upper is already coming apart. I also have the primus lite 3 but I really hate that they are all black. I am considering these but I’m not sure :(
Also if you don’t recommend the all weather ones what about the PRIMUS TRAIL KNIT FG? Hoping it has more durability and everything that I’m looking for especially for HIIT type workouts.
I'd give the Trail Knits a try. They tend to get a lot of love from the folks wanting maximal versatility out of their shoes! Go with the same in them that you went in your Primus models

The Primus Lite III has been the best training focused model that hasn't had this issue. The Motus has also been okay since it runs a smidge more TTS!

Hi Jake. Is this model good for long distance run? If not, do you know a better model ?
Eh, breathability isn't the best. I'd go with something with a more ventilated upper. Primus Lite Knit/3/Geo Racer Knit can be better picks from Vivo
About the Primus lite 3. I noticed that they also have Primus Lite 3.5. Is there any difference? They look really similar.
