I think this is beautiful to see how proud those men are of their potatoes. If I have the possibility to taste Maltese potatoes I will do it without hesitation :D
I think this is brilliant. The combination of beautifully shot HD video on such a traditional Maltese job is such a beautiful contrast... a bit of a reflection of the contrast between modern developments and a strong traditional culture still present on the islands. And the Maltese potato IS the best in the world! =)
Well done Duerinck Productions .... you got the Maltese potato right back in track .. love the passion and pride of the Maltesians and their potato power :)!
@@klodd7327 I know this video is super old and your comments are too. But I thought you maybe still wanted to know that song in the background, its called: Ludovico Einaudi - Moto Perpetuo. ^^

Great tribute to the Maltese potato, though it focusses too much on the superlatives and exagerated remarks of one farmer and seems to make a caricature of the whole thing. I would add some historical information: how the potato became Malta´s cash crop in the 19th century, replacing cotton (which was THE crop in the blood of the Maltese till 1814, when Spain closed its market to foreign cotton and US cotton flooded Europe). The transition was extremely hard and painful...

Malta has a very tiny territory yet there are farms, family farms which are unable to use the land to the full. This is not helping the Maltese economy enough to be a viable option for territory use.
Hadd m'ghandu ghalfejn jidhak b'hadd, kulhadd ghandu bzonn xulxin. And Gizimina93 when it's time to harvest the crops go and give a hand to Mike Caruana so you too can be seen on the float.
Min prova jwaqghu ghac-cajt ghax ma fehmx x'ried jghid. Jien fhimtu, ghax naf li hafna kemm hemm xoghol biex tkabbar il-patata, u dan iz-zaghzugh jidher li hadem u ghadu jahdem biex izzom il-kultura Maltija. Prosit.
