Good job. My Lionel motor in my 1700 bit the big one so I replaced it with a Marx. The red and chrome look great under the Christmas tree.

The powder coating looks good. Did the chrome look like chrome or a greyish color. When you had them on the layout they looked grey?

How do I disassemble the motor?

remove the center screw from the smoke stacks, that will allow the motor to slide out for service. Remove the 2 screws from the brush plate and service as needed.
