The fact this happened on the week of the 10 year anniversary of gta online is insane. If anything, Cayo should’ve been double money alongside most other ways to make money to celebrate the 10 years of the online.

A set up cost at all makes no sense. You buy the sub, you buy the equipment, and paval gets a cut from the whole thing at the end. Who are you even paying. It’s only Paval and the player involved with the heist.
After 5 years of suffering trying to find people to play Heists and deal with bad players rockstar graced us with a solo heist and it was the best thing ever. No longer did I have to rely on Tommy to do a simple job live drive! But now it's ruined
Exactly they couldn’t just keep it like they used to I remember always grinding it by my self and with my friends last year when you could do it every hour and only had to wait 20 mins I think for the cool down they better not keep this up with gta 6 with whatever heists they will have if they make us start from stratch
The Guard one convinced me to avoid this Heist because stealth mechanics are already broken enough in this game. It made it so much worse. If guards can spot bodies we should be allowed to move bodies... but that isn't an option. I already hated doing this heist before these nerfs. So it convinced me to do other things. I stick to doing Auto Shop and Agency stuff to make active income anymore. But these kind of nerfs are honestly convinced me to just stop playing the game entirely. If this is the direction they're going, why bother even playing?
@@sir_jaythe3rd704 You don't even need to do that. I kill around 10 guards in the compound every time, and never get a body spotted. Just gotta take out the Heavy quickly and kill the others in a particular order. I finish the heist in around 8 minutes.

If you think any change made to GTA 5 will be enough to sink Rockstar you should probably consider the $2 billion they have invested in GTA 6. I’m pretty sure they would survive shutting down the servers for GTA Online at this point.
To compensate for the drastic increase of the set up fee they should increase the payouts of the treasure chests you can find during the gathering intel set up when first scoping island. Say paying 50K per chest if you decided to put into the extra to get return on your investment.

Yea, I did mine yesterday solo. I made a little over 1M. I had taqila and cash weed secondaries, which isn't too bad, but that setup cost should have stayed 25k 100k is ridiculous
That's not a problem for me. I'm loaded with enough ca$h and I own everything the game has to offer. The issue is the heist itself. It isn't even fun to do. I play to have fun, not to grind. I'm actually having a lot of fun playing Cyberpunk and it's new expansion. The world is so real and immersive. It has awesome nightclubs. It shits all over old ass GTA5.
Considering R* recently made all businesses no longer require a public lobby for the first time in the game's history, which is obviously an incredible gift for solo players, this comment really has its head up its butt. The truth is Cayo always paid out way too much.
I did some number crunching months ago and I know how they could rebalance the loot values for team players without shafting solo players. They should make the primary loot worth less money and all secondary loot worth more. This would incentivize you to actually grab anything you can carry. It would actually give you a reason to bring teammates even if the cuts were split even.
I will always remember that one event week in February of 2021, was a great time to do this. All primary targets were 50% more, so a pink diamond would give you $2,145,000. With the secondary targets it was like 2.5 million. And that was before they added the nearly 2.5 hour cooldown. That week was so good that I was able to make GTA$100 million in a single week, mostly Cayo Perico heists combined with business sales. Rest in peace, GTAO event week February 4-10th 2021. You will be missed.
I had that save glitched and I made all my friends so rich. I forgot to do it one time when I tried to give my friend who went from Ps4 toPs5 and lost all he had on ps4 and I lost it I recently came back to gta to fuck around but Cayo is this bad now this is awful.
Nah the best time was when you got the panther statue and on hard mode. I use to do the replay glitch over and over again and I gave a friend of mine well over 50 mil with. More than 2.5m every time and 100k bonus for elite challenge
This hits a certain way for me. My friends stopped playing GTA years ago, so it already made me play less. But at least when I wanted to play, if I needed money for a new dlc, I had the Cayo heist. I knew Rockstar had changed, but this was possibly the worst way they’ve exhibited their greedy practices. For now, I’m just taking a GTA hiatus.
For real my friends stoped playing it for 2k24 and with the new season of mw2 and Fortnite I’ve stopped playing gta they did not need to nerf the most easy way to make money they just want money and we all know that
Don't come back mate it really isn't worth it at this point. I stopped playing around a year ago after playing since the start of 2015, a little after a year since the release of gta online and i only made a brief comeback to check out the mercenaries dlc which was absolutely atrocious. This game and this company isn't worth our time anymore, its time to give them the finger and move on. I would also advise anyone who reads this to NOT preorder gta 6 and wait until it comes out. I have no faith in rockstar anymore.
Cayo rewards were really generous and even with the now decreased values of the targets i would probably still think it was okay, but the setup cost killed it for me. I haven't played GTA online in a few months, and i find it ridiculous that Rockstar thinks this 10 year anniversary surprise is going to bring anyone back.
Nah, with all the things in the game, and how prices have inflated, Not even Cayo perico in its original form is worth it. Game is just a grindfest that's not worth playing anymore unless you're playing with friends. In which case, you should just play RP not Online.
After the horrific grind of the other businesses and money making methods prior to Cayo, netting a cool 1mil solo in about an hour was insane. I always felt as though this dlc was the actual development team going rogue to benefit the players. It lasted so long without being nerfed despite it immediately becoming common knowledge how easy it was to generate millions quickly. I’m willing to bet that they kept it quiet until corporate (T2) noticed a drop off in shark card sales. It was always going to be patched but credit to R* for how long it actually took them to “fix” it.
I always hate to see this blind, apologetic trust towards development teams of games and how people say that they """get screwed over""" by their corpo higher ups. Y'all shouldn't just blindly shift blame away from the development team, how do you think they also get their pay? Obviously mainly via shark card sales. How else? By being good at their jobs? GTA online is a janky, cheater infested mess, they barely work on it, let alone put any effort on it lmao. They don't care about the players, dude, nobody at Rockstar does, why the hell would they care about a bunch of children getting fake rich in some old, half-assed mess of a game? Rockstar (ALONG WITH THE DEVELOPERS) just got sloppy and didn't think Cayo perico would have become this "exploitable" in terms of in-game grinding. As far as they were aware they were just putting out a new heist and that was it, they didn't think the players would be THIS good enough at it to optimize their runs to high hell, enough to literally replace every other in-game grind, making old content obsolete along with Rockstar's main business, shark cards.

Sorry for 2 months old reply, but next nerf will be to remove loot from the aircraft hangar because it's too easy to get. I think the main tactic to go is (if guard outfit spawns at airport) Velum entry, empty hangar of all loot to fill bag, get outfit, get bike and speed to the compound an dget the keycode.
For the elite challenge, I use longfin (trust me, it's the best). First go to airstrip for secondary loot. Then go to the compound with the longfin by the drainage tunnel. Pick the main loot and safe. Later get out of the compound and swim out of the island. It usually takes me about 12 minutes. Easy +50k
not anymore because now the guard reinforcements are equipped with xray goggles and can see dead bodies through walls so you get detected right after the main target
What's insane to me is that they applied it retroactively! I was doing the CPH on Wednesday night until my building had a false fire alarm and I had to stop. It was already set-up and the primary target was the Ruby Necklace ($1.1 million). I was literally on the island, in the compound when I had to quit. A few hours later, after the update, when I went to relaunch, the primary target value dropped down to $770,000. They literally clawed back.

I agree 100%. This really is the nail in the coffin in some ways. I find the the casino setups just plain awful so even now I rarely do it, the Cayo was the heist for me and my friend group. I still did the Cayo even after the cool down nerf but much less often. Its versatile and has good replay ability. The pay was great too since most things suck in comparison and the good stuff costs millions to setup. The 100k is painful to new players too, it'll be like the original heists... dead. Its honestly stupid and has no real logic behind it besides making it much less worth doing. Obviously this is about GTA+ and shark card sales
The player base must be ready for what's next. As Rockstar gets ready for GTA VI expect them to extract the last drop out of you, and with way less content than usual. I left this joke of a game years ago and I don't regret It, Rockstar has 0 respect for you as a customer and as a human being.

If you don't like the game that's fine, I don't personally intentionally view content of a game I don't like though so I don't know why you'd even watch this video or anything like that unless you're growing into bit of a GTA hater at this point since you haven't played for years and only see the lame stuff they've done. That being said I'm more worried that GTA 6 will have all of these things that suck like GTA+ in game currency (not dollars more like red dead's gold system) in the game from the start. GTA 5 is still good but its was prime for a hot min, when looking at how they managed RDR2 online I worry. I love RDR2 and the online was fun. The biggest problem was a lack of updates, this was realistically the only thing holding it back from becoming something similar to the GTA online of old but Rockstar killed that. I'm worried they'll kill GTA 6 online from the start similar to red dead, that is unlikely id think but who knows anymore. Some maniac is in the Rockstar captains chair rn making bad moves.

Personally, I believe it is like a Birthday party where all your "presents" are your friends' and family members' utility bills and taxes, which you are required to pay for on their behalf for the next year.

Honestly I had a modder give me money for like 20 dollars for 200 million. But nowadays I just play singeplayer modded because its impossible for me to make my movies in online anymore due to rockstars BS
The Cayo Perico Heist and Diamond Casino Heist were the best when they first came out. I’ll never forget the Casino Heist in holiday 2019 with the 85% glitch and gold bar glitch. Also add the re-roll glitch onto that. And cause Rockstar was on holidays players got to take advantage of that hard. Also, I remember the getaway vehicles used to be closer like right on the horse track. And the door to the right from the top of the staircase was never blocked off.
Never go for the getaway vehicles if they're too far. Always steal an npc vehicle. There's plenty in the parking lot across the sewer tunnel and you have next to no cops shooting at you.
I was fine with the discovering the bodies thing. It didn’t really change much for me. Just a small difficulty raise. However, this payout nerf completely kills it for me and I have no reason to go back to my submarine anymore (except to visit the hermit chad that lives in it). I’m going to go back to managing my businesses.
I stopped playing Cayo when they made the enemies detect bodies. So often they would get detected for what seemed like no reason and it just wasn't fun anymore.
That explains why I came back to the game and couldn’t do the heist anymore. The alarm kept going off so I abandoned the heist and focused on my nightclub
It just sucks because I really missed out Cayo Perico in its prime. I just saved up for business to grind to save up for the kosatka. It took me a while personally. And now that I’m super late it gets all these nerfs. It feels like everything I grind for in GTA becomes worthless in the end. Plus I’m solo player.

I did the setups for cayo on Wednesday and got the ruby necklace. When I logged off I was glad I had the 1 mill locked in before the update. When I logged in yesterday it was down to $700,000. I won’t be completing the one I have set up or any other ones again after that. This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous with R*.
Can you imagine if they spent 5% of this energy making the optional Cayo preps worth doing and maybe even varied up the prep missions? Maybe even put some enemies in the lockup so it's not a mindless fetch quest where you only have to shoot 5 guys?

it's changes like these that make me genuinely concerned for the next GTA game. I wouldn't put it past R* to just phone in a story mode only to pump out their money maker that would be GTA6 online as soon as possible.
It almost feels that’s what happened to gta 5 they had so much story mode content and dlc planned but was all scrapped for online cause of its success, it wouldn’t surprise me if 6 will be online first with story mode coming out later this time with the lead writers in Dan houser, Benzies and lazlow gone the story will be dookie no doubt
I usually make around 1m from it, but tbh rockstar is just really crapping on the solo players. Just making their game worse and harder to play. Really hope gta6 is better than this.
Despite the nerfs, the Cayo Heist is still the best way to earn money if you're smart about it. Try to always have hard mode, get elite challenge, and never have team of over 2 players. Splitting 50/50 even with tequila you can get a million each. Also, I always get elite challenge solo. When you scout make sure you find bolt cutters, guard clothing, and grappling hooks. With these items you can loot outside the compound and not get caught. Going over the wall you don't have to worry about finding the door code, and you're basically right by the the way to the Office. You can go past the guards without alerting them get in the office, take the safe loot, hack the elevator, get the main and get out. I can dothe heist without killing a single guard and get elite challenge. And I agree, they did ruin it. Instead of nerfs they should have made it more challenging. My suggestions would be a cool down on approach vehicles. I also would have made you have to go to the extraction point that you choose to get off of the Island. I would get rid of the rebreathers.
Man I still remember when Cayo Perico came out, I spent the following months grinding with 2, sometimes 3 friends, then using the money to buy cars and just doing races, having fun. I miss that time.
Hey @TheProfessional rewatch the original Cayo Perico heist trailer and if you notice where they show the players grabbing gold you notice its legit outside the compound for some reason, I think they probably were gonna let gold spawn outside but maybe changed it last minute

Sell mixed goods from CEO $50,000 collected 5. Agency: Payphone hit - Security contract 6. Sell Bunker, Warehouses as needed This is my daily grind and brings in a good amount. User preference 🤷♂️. Cayo is like the other heist. Something we all used to do. Also acid lab sales Do the Gerald stash house to up your profits
I like to do most of this, and sometimes ill add in the cayo setup. Maybe i dont do cayo every play session but i may do a bit to prep. Then one time bam extra money.
How is it possible? Seriously, I have never in my life felt so ridiculously disappointed with a company as I am with Rockstar. It seems that when they are at the bottom, they keep going down! I haven't entered the game for months now since they removed the 200 cars from be obtained, I think everyone should do that.

Even with the nerfs that happened up to this point, me and one friend would still run Cayo Perico almost obsessively. We conjured a new route, worked out the escape routes where you get shot at the least, everything. It was our number one thing in Online. Not anymore. It was our single favourite thing to do in this game, now it's practically worthless, we've backpedaled several years now to where repeatedly doing business sales is the only real income.
I'm so thankful I did it like a hundred times when it came out. I barely play GTA online anymore but I have enough money to get anything I want whenever I get on. Sucks for all of the new players who won't get this amazing heist to grind on though. I've done my fair share of CEO crates. I'll never touch those things again.
I was one of the people who got wiped when that crazy apartment money glitch was around, and I've stopped playing ever since. Not out of some indignant rage for being wiped (I was pissed off but I get it), but because it was so tedious to get started back up all over again. This was basically the final nail in the coffin for me.
They want players to do other stuff than the Cayo Perico heist. Throwing in a ton of grindy businesses here and there, revamping the hangar cargo business, etc... They want players to touch every single content, slow down their money-making process and therefore tally more players online per day. That's what all the big publishers are going for nowadays. But the funny part is it always backfires and players just leave. No one has the time to grind all day. In any game for that matter.
After the cayo nerf the agency is the best grind rn with a guaranteed 1 mill every time you complete the contract, and the best part is that it can be done solo and is relatively easy but the bad part is that on old gen you freeze in the casino, don’t know if they fixed that yet I’m on series s

Before I played Cayo Perico for the first time I had like 20 mil. I grind it till I got 100 mil and then got bored of it. I would play it again from time to time but after the first nerf, I never touched it again. I was so grateful at the time that Rockstar finally released a solo heist and it’s just really sad that ever since then they’ve been nerfing it because of shark cards.
I stopped doing heist ever since I got put on to the car duplication glitch. After they put that ban on slam vans gtao was over for me. I ran up dozens of millions of dollars from doing the Franklin 3x method , scuba tank glitch out method, and even the last couple like the Agency and Maze Bank/Facility methods.
All I'm hearing through all of this is "Rockstar really don't get why people are still playing GTAO and are looking for ways to stop them from playing."
I'm a bit out of the loop. So on my last Cayo Perico Heist, I was close to obtain the main objective. For some reason the alarm was triggered. Thought it was a glitch. Now I hear the guards find bodies and start a witch hunt. That made me QUIT.
Not only that, Rockstar puts a bad sport warning out to you when you back out or fail and choose to continue onto other things to do besides the heist... Even as a solo player. 👉👌 R*
At this point im convinced rockstar games just makes these decisions purposely to get fans angry and then they sit in their mansions and laugh because they genuinely find it amusing to know that no matter how badly they treat their community they wont have to face any consequences. And they know that once they release gta 6 (who knows when) everyone will magically forget about all the things they did wrong and theyll be able to continue their bad behavior
I do remember seeing a comment somewhere not too long after the heist came out saying that the Cayo Perico Heist needs to be nerfed. Looks like they got their wish.
There was a glitch a week or two ago where you could get inside the buildings without unlocking the doors, unfortunately I'm not even shocked that rather than fix the glitch they nerfed the whole thing.
I ran cayo like an hour ago and did the West storage glitch and got double gold, completed the elite challenge, got the rubby necklace and still got 1.1 mill
R* forgot to nerf the metal detector jobs on the island while they are at it. I Figured the reason they raised the Setup fee was because they knew that people would cancell and restart hoping for a bigger prize.
Actually, I stopped playing the game since they removed around -200 cars from the game (at least the option to buy them). I was so disappointed of Rockstar that I completely lost hope and love for the game.
I only recently got into doing Cayo again after the update where guards could see dead bodies and raise the alarms, since I saw guide that helped with my usual method, but now, there's no point because they hate that people actually made millions doing heist because of how they designed it. The only reason for me now is to get the Hard Mode career challenge because they're broken and don't recognise I've already done that many times over much like how it doesn't count the agency missions I've done the specialist difficulty. At this point, everything else still pays out good enough if you're like me and more for just having the money for the sake of flexing and having to buy whatever the major updates add required to do the main content. The issue there was getting the money to buy what you wanted to pursue in terms of in-game criminal career in the first place because jobs didn't pay much unless you grinded them, but Cayo was at least an aid because it paid well for the hour or so you put into it.
the cayo perico heist was one of my favourite heists from 2020 to 2021, i remember in September through to October 2021 I robbed cayo perico constantly non stop and after my 76th heist i made a whopping 100 million..
@@Rhysy4-1YT ikr you was there when i did a lot of those heists because we did it back to back, but the more these nerfs keep on, the more it will end up like the arena wars DLC and the part that killed that DLC was the crappy pay-outs and the over priced vehicles..
Fun fact: The Gorillaz “Valley of the Pagans” music video was C&D’d by Rockstar because they thought it would spoil the Cayo Perico heist (despite the only “hint” of the heist being on an island was the inclusion of the Plastic Beach island at the end of the video). As a solo grinder this update is ridiculous, R* practically keeps admitting there ARE more solo grinders who play Caye than any other heist. It’s the only one we can do SOLO, R* needs to do better. Instead of nerfing one heist, make the others solo friendly as well
The Cayo Perico Heist was our noble steed. And Rockstar just walked it out to the backyard, and shot it dead. 🥺 Great way to NOT celebrate the 10th Anniversary. I don’t need the money anymore, I’m happy sitting at around $200,000,000 and some change. I mainly do Acid Sales, Agency Contracts and Payphone Hits nowadays, and a Special Crate Sale sometimes. I haven’t touched Cayo Perico since Criminal Enterprise, so it’s safe to say that Pavel has retired. It was an honour serving with him…as “Kapitan”.
I wasn't a cayo perico grinder in the first place, I only did it twice, but I can tell you this will make sure I never do the heist again. I think most people are going to stick to businesses and whatever the multiplier is that week instead.
Weekly bonuses are emphasized as the main grind for sure, but if you're strapped for cash playing(low $), it makes sense to still run a Cayo so you're not going broke. However, on the usual bad weeks, this obviously incentivizes little to no playing.
The enemy AI is ridiculous and they always know exactly where you are and they keep spawning , they are basically unlimited..seriously this is the most lazy system...Cockstar really needs to change this on future updates and gta 6. Every updates is like : go somewhere - steal something/kill someone/hack something/get detected/enemies follow you to your final objective and shoot at you...
I honestly think this is a good chance. Cayo made my favorite heist, diamond casino, obsolete and im glad that they made it balanced especially when you can do the setups in 30 minutes when the casino takes like an hour

I already suggested an all out boycott of rockstar products? Granted there will still be mi dless consumers, who won't understand our complaints and give rockstar money regardless. But that is not who my policy appeals to, it appeals to the OG's and new fans who still got a brain, and are not willing to sell out.
I've long since retired from grinding and moved on to speedrunning, so this change doesn't really affect me. But I feel bad for new players that rely on cayo. FYI for new players, there is a glitch you can do to get gold on the heist solo, it's a bit tricky to learn but I can't recommend it enough. And if you're ever considering shark cards, just buy a modded acc instead. Only $50 for a double character, double fast run acc with BEFF outfits and more money than you could possibly spend in a lifetime.
When they buffed the guards, this heist has became unplayable for me on PC. The guards spot me through walls or for no reason at all. And no, it's not them spotting dead bodies. It's just totally screwed ever since that update.
Thank you for giving us a detailed guide on how to get cocaine. However, the instructions were unclear that I needed to do this in the game, and now I have pending felony charges in the state of Georgia.
The worst part is they did this on the 10th anniversary of GTA online. Rockstar never fails to disappoint us.

A set up cost at all makes no sense. You buy the sub, you buy the equipment, and paval gets a cut from the whole thing at the end. Who are you even paying. It’s only Paval and the player involved with the heist.

After 5 years of suffering trying to find people to play Heists and deal with bad players rockstar graced us with a solo heist and it was the best thing ever. No longer did I have to rely on Tommy to do a simple job live drive! But now it's ruined

The Guard one convinced me to avoid this Heist because stealth mechanics are already broken enough in this game. It made it so much worse. If guards can spot bodies we should be allowed to move bodies... but that isn't an option. I already hated doing this heist before these nerfs. So it convinced me to do other things. I stick to doing Auto Shop and Agency stuff to make active income anymore. But these kind of nerfs are honestly convinced me to just stop playing the game entirely. If this is the direction they're going, why bother even playing?
The stealth in this heist is the easiest thing ever you don’t even have to kill anyone, I can finish it in 9 min with elite challenge
It's still possible kill Cayo guards and maintain stealth. It only requires more savvy now.
@@sir_jaythe3rd704 You don't even need to do that. I kill around 10 guards in the compound every time, and never get a body spotted. Just gotta take out the Heavy quickly and kill the others in a particular order. I finish the heist in around 8 minutes.

That's not a problem for me. I'm loaded with enough ca$h and I own everything the game has to offer. The issue is the heist itself. It isn't even fun to do. I play to have fun, not to grind. I'm actually having a lot of fun playing Cyberpunk and it's new expansion. The world is so real and immersive. It has awesome nightclubs. It shits all over old ass GTA5.
I got 780 million on there anyway. What they need is a overpowered vehicle that costs 500 million, so few get it and destroy everything else.

I did some number crunching months ago and I know how they could rebalance the loot values for team players without shafting solo players. They should make the primary loot worth less money and all secondary loot worth more. This would incentivize you to actually grab anything you can carry. It would actually give you a reason to bring teammates even if the cuts were split even.
I will always remember that one event week in February of 2021, was a great time to do this. All primary targets were 50% more, so a pink diamond would give you $2,145,000. With the secondary targets it was like 2.5 million. And that was before they added the nearly 2.5 hour cooldown. That week was so good that I was able to make GTA$100 million in a single week, mostly Cayo Perico heists combined with business sales.

I had that save glitched and I made all my friends so rich. I forgot to do it one time when I tried to give my friend who went from Ps4 toPs5 and lost all he had on ps4 and I lost it I recently came back to gta to fuck around but Cayo is this bad now this is awful.

Nah the best time was when you got the panther statue and on hard mode. I use to do the replay glitch over and over again and I gave a friend of mine well over 50 mil with. More than 2.5m every time and 100k bonus for elite challenge

This hits a certain way for me. My friends stopped playing GTA years ago, so it already made me play less. But at least when I wanted to play, if I needed money for a new dlc, I had the Cayo heist. I knew Rockstar had changed, but this was possibly the worst way they’ve exhibited their greedy practices. For now, I’m just taking a GTA hiatus.

Don't come back mate it really isn't worth it at this point. I stopped playing around a year ago after playing since the start of 2015, a little after a year since the release of gta online and i only made a brief comeback to check out the mercenaries dlc which was absolutely atrocious. This game and this company isn't worth our time anymore, its time to give them the finger and move on. I would also advise anyone who reads this to NOT preorder gta 6 and wait until it comes out. I have no faith in rockstar anymore.

Cayo rewards were really generous and even with the now decreased values of the targets i would probably still think it was okay, but the setup cost killed it for me. After the horrific grind of the other businesses and money making methods prior to Cayo, netting a cool 1mil solo in about an hour was insane.
I always felt as though this dlc was the actual development team going rogue to benefit the players.
It lasted so long without being nerfed despite it immediately becoming common knowledge how easy it was to generate millions quickly. I’m willing to bet that they kept it quiet until corporate (T2) noticed a drop off in shark card sales. It was always going to be patched but credit to R* for how long it actually took them to “fix” it.

As far as they were aware they were just putting out a new heist and that was it, they didn't think the players would be THIS good enough at it to optimize their runs to high hell, enough to literally replace every other in-game grind, making old content obsolete along with Rockstar's main business, shark cards.

Sorry for 2 months old reply, but next nerf will be to remove loot from the aircraft hangar because it's too easy to get. I think the main tactic to go is (if guard outfit spawns at airport) Velum entry, empty hangar of all loot to fill bag, get outfit, get bike and speed to the compound an dget the keycode.
Personally, I’d like to thank Rockstar. I’ve been needing to play other games and this just gave me a reason to give GTA a break for a while
For the elite challenge, I use longfin (trust me, it's the best). First go to airstrip for secondary loot. Then go to the compound with the longfin by the drainage tunnel. Pick the main loot and safe. Later get out of the compound and swim out of the island. It usually takes me about 12 minutes. Easy +50k
not anymore because now the guard reinforcements are equipped with xray goggles and can see dead bodies through walls so you get detected right after the main target
What's insane to me is that they applied it retroactively! I was doing the CPH on Wednesday night until my building had a false fire alarm and I had to stop. It was already set-up and the primary target was the Ruby Necklace ($1.1 million). I was literally on the island, in the compound when I had to quit. A few hours later, after the update, when I went to relaunch, the primary target value dropped down to $770,000. They literally clawed back.

I agree 100%. This really is the nail in the coffin in some ways. I find the the casino setups just plain awful so even now I rarely do it, the Cayo was the heist for me and my friend group. I still did the Cayo even after the cool down nerf but much less often. Its versatile and has good replay ability. The pay was great too since most things suck in comparison and the good stuff costs millions to setup. The 100k is painful to new players too, it'll be like the original heists... dead. Its honestly stupid and has no real logic behind it besides making it much less worth doing. Obviously this is about GTA+ and shark card sales
The player base must be ready for what's next. As Rockstar gets ready for GTA VI expect them to extract the last drop out of you, and with way less content than usual. I left this joke of a game years ago and I don't regret It, Rockstar has 0 respect for you as a customer and as a human being.

GTA 5 is still good but its was prime for a hot min, when looking at how they managed RDR2 online I worry. I love RDR2 and the online was fun. The biggest problem was a lack of updates, this was realistically the only thing holding it back from becoming something similar to the GTA online of old but Rockstar killed that. I'm worried they'll kill GTA 6 online from the start similar to red dead, that is unlikely id think but who knows anymore. Some maniac is in the Rockstar captains chair rn making bad moves.

The Cayo Perico Heist and Diamond Casino Heist were the best when they first came out. I’ll never forget the Casino Heist in holiday 2019 with the 85% glitch and gold bar glitch. Also add the re-roll glitch onto that. And cause Rockstar was on holidays players got to take advantage of that hard. Also, I remember the getaway vehicles used to be closer like right on the horse track. And the door to the right from the top of the staircase was never blocked off.
Never go for the getaway vehicles if they're too far. Always steal an npc vehicle. There's plenty in the parking lot across the sewer tunnel and you have next to no cops shooting at you.
I was fine with the discovering the bodies thing. It didn’t really change much for me. Just a small difficulty raise. However, this payout nerf completely kills it for me and I have no reason to go back to my submarine anymore (except to visit the hermit chad that lives in it). I’m going to go back to managing my businesses.
I stopped playing Cayo when they made the enemies detect bodies. So often they would get detected for what seemed like no reason and it just wasn't fun anymore.
That explains why I came back to the game and couldn’t do the heist anymore. The alarm kept going off so I abandoned the heist and focused on my nightclub

It just sucks because I really missed out Cayo Perico in its prime. I just saved up for business to grind to save up for the kosatka. It took me a while personally. And now that I’m super late it gets all these nerfs. It feels like everything I grind for in GTA becomes worthless in the end. Plus I’m solo player.

I did the setups for cayo on Wednesday and got the ruby necklace. When I logged off I was glad I had the 1 mill locked in before the update. When I logged in yesterday it was down to $700,000. I won’t be completing the one I have set up or any other ones again after that. This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous with R*.
Can you imagine if they spent 5% of this energy making the optional Cayo preps worth doing and maybe even varied up the prep missions?

it's changes like these that make me genuinely concerned for the next GTA game. I wouldn't put it past R* to just phone in a story mode only to pump out their money maker that would be GTA6 online as soon as possible.
It almost feels that’s what happened to gta 5 they had so much story mode content and dlc planned but was all scrapped for online cause of its success, it wouldn’t surprise me if 6 will be online first with story mode coming out later this time with the lead writers in Dan houser, Benzies and lazlow gone the story will be dookie no doubt

I usually make around 1m from it, but tbh rockstar is just really crapping on the solo players. Just making their game worse and harder to play. Really hope gta6 is better than this.
Despite the nerfs, the Cayo Heist is still the best way to earn money if you're smart about it. Try to always have hard mode, get elite challenge, and never have team of over 2 players. Splitting 50/50 even with tequila you can get a million each. Also, I always get elite challenge solo. When you scout make sure you find bolt cutters, guard clothing, and grappling hooks. With these items you can loot outside the compound and not get caught. Going over the wall you don't have to worry about finding the door code, and you're basically right by the the way to the Office. You can go past the guards without alerting them get in the office, take the safe loot, hack the elevator, get the main and get out. I can dothe heist without killing a single guard and get elite challenge. And I agree, they did ruin it. Instead of nerfs they should have made it more challenging. My suggestions would be a cool down on approach vehicles. I also would have made you have to go to the extraction point that you choose to get off of the Island. I would get rid of the rebreathers.
The biggest psychological barrier that will stop people playing this heist is the massive 300% increase to the set up fee. $100k
Man I still remember when Cayo Perico came out, I spent the following months grinding with 2, sometimes 3 friends, then using the money to buy cars and just doing races, having fun. I miss that time.
Hey @TheProfessional rewatch the original Cayo Perico heist trailer and if you notice where they show the players grabbing gold you notice its legit outside the compound for some reason, I think they probably were gonna let gold spawn outside but maybe changed it last minute

Even with the nerfs that happened up to this point, me and one friend would still run Cayo Perico almost obsessively. We conjured a new route, worked out the escape routes where you get shot at the least, everything. It was our number one thing in Online. Not anymore. It was our single favourite thing to do in this game, now it's practically worthless, we've backpedaled several years now to where repeatedly doing business sales is the only real income.

I was one of the people who got wiped when that crazy apartment money glitch was around, and I've stopped playing ever since. Not out of some indignant rage for being wiped (I was pissed off but I get it), but because it was so tedious to get started back up all over again. This was basically the final nail in the coffin for me.
They want players to do other stuff than the Cayo Perico heist. Throwing in a ton of grindy businesses here and there, revamping the hangar cargo business, etc... They want players to touch every single content, slow down their money-making process and therefore tally more players online per day. That's what all the big publishers are going for nowadays. But the funny part is it always backfires and players just leave. No one has the time to grind all day. In any game for that matter.

Since they’ve nerfed the payouts, the least they can do is change the 2 hour cool down to 48 minutes at least.

Before I played Cayo Perico for the first time I had like 20 mil. I grind it till I got 100 mil and then got bored of it. I would play it again from time to time but after the first nerf, I never touched it again. I was so grateful at the time that Rockstar finally released a solo heist and it’s just really sad that ever since then they’ve been nerfing it because of shark cards.
When this heist first came out this was my number 1 money making method for a long time, now I’m questioning if it’s even worth doing anymore…

I stopped doing heist ever since I got put on to the car duplication glitch. After they put that ban on slam vans gtao was over for me. I ran up dozens of millions of dollars from doing the Franklin 3x method , scuba tank glitch out method, and even the last couple like the Agency and Maze Bank/Facility methods.
The Fact that this was originally Single Player DLC and they just used it for soulless GTAO rly says smth about Rockstar

I'm a bit out of the loop. So on my last Cayo Perico Heist, I was close to obtain the main objective. For some reason the alarm was triggered. Thought it was a glitch. Now I hear the guards find bodies and start a witch hunt. That made me QUIT.
Not only that, Rockstar puts a bad sport warning out to you when you back out or fail and choose to continue onto other things to do besides the heist... Even as a solo player. 👉👌 R*
At this point im convinced rockstar games just makes these decisions purposely to get fans angry and then they sit in their mansions and laugh because they genuinely find it amusing to know that no matter how badly they treat their community they wont have to face any consequences. And they know that once they release gta 6 (who knows when) everyone will magically forget about all the things they did wrong and theyll be able to continue their bad behavior

There was a glitch a week or two ago where you could get inside the buildings without unlocking the doors, unfortunately I'm not even shocked that rather than fix the glitch they nerfed the whole thing.
I ran cayo like an hour ago and did the West storage glitch and got double gold, completed the elite challenge, got the rubby necklace and still got 1.1 mill
R* forgot to nerf the metal detector jobs on the island while they are at it. I Figured the reason they raised the Setup fee was because they knew that people would cancell and restart hoping for a bigger prize.
Actually, I stopped playing the game since they removed around -200 cars from the game (at least the option to buy them). I was so disappointed of Rockstar that I completely lost hope and love for the game.

I only recently got into doing Cayo again after the update where guards could see dead bodies and raise the alarms, since I saw guide that helped with my usual method, but now, there's no point because they hate that people actually made millions doing heist because of how they designed it.
The only reason for me now is to get the Hard Mode career challenge because they're broken and don't recognise I've already done that many times over much like how it doesn't count the agency missions I've done the specialist difficulty.
At this point, everything else still pays out good enough if you're like me and more for just having the money for the sake of flexing and having to buy whatever the major updates add required to do the main content.
The issue there was getting the money to buy what you wanted to pursue in terms of in-game criminal career in the first place because jobs didn't pay much unless you grinded them, but Cayo was at least an aid because it paid well for the hour or so you put into it.

the cayo perico heist was one of my favourite heists from 2020 to 2021, i remember in September through to October 2021 I robbed cayo perico constantly non stop and after my 76th heist i made a whopping 100 million..

As a solo grinder this update is ridiculous, R* practically keeps admitting there ARE more solo grinders who play Caye than any other heist. It’s the only one we can do SOLO, R* needs to do better. Instead of nerfing one heist, make the others solo friendly as well

I don’t need the money anymore, I’m happy sitting at around $200,000,000 and some change. I mainly do Acid Sales, Agency Contracts and Payphone Hits nowadays, and a Special Crate Sale sometimes. I haven’t touched Cayo Perico since Criminal Enterprise, so it’s safe to say that Pavel has retired. It was an honour serving with him…as “Kapitan”.

I wasn't a cayo perico grinder in the first place, I only did it twice, but I can tell you this will make sure I never do the heist again. I think most people are going to stick to businesses and whatever the multiplier is that week instead.
Weekly bonuses are emphasized as the main grind for sure, but if you're strapped for cash playing(low $), it makes sense to still run a Cayo so you're not going broke. However, on the usual bad weeks, this obviously incentivizes little to no playing.
The enemy AI is ridiculous and they always know exactly where you are and they keep spawning , they are basically unlimited..seriously this is the most lazy system...Cockstar really needs to change this on future updates and gta 6. Every updates is like : go somewhere - steal something/kill someone/hack something/get detected/enemies follow you to your final objective and shoot at you...

I already suggested an all out boycott of rockstar products? Granted there will still be mi dless consumers, who won't understand our complaints and give rockstar money regardless. I've long since retired from grinding and moved on to speedrunning, so this change doesn't really affect me. But I feel bad for new players that rely on cayo. FYI for new players, there is a glitch you can do to get gold on the heist solo, it's a bit tricky to learn but I can't recommend it enough. And if you're ever considering shark cards, just buy a modded acc instead. Only $50 for a double character, double fast run acc with BEFF outfits and more money than you could possibly spend in a lifetime.
Also there is a really simple but effective duping glitch that still works after 2 months

When they buffed the guards, this heist has became unplayable for me on PC. The guards spot me through walls or for no reason at all. And no, it's not them spotting dead bodies. It's just totally screwed ever since that update.
