- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Seriously get this a man some civics awards. He has more than earned it with all the drains he has unclogged free of charge. There has got to be a key to the city or a luncheon voucher or plaque or a medal, something for Post 10 please.

Haha, this is America. The only thing he will get is getting called a socialist, because he is doing it for the society for free and maybe getting splashed a couple of times by selfish assholes while unclogging waterdrains on the street.
You know what kind of landscaping erosion he has prevented or even someone’s home from flooding! I love his determination!
Our government is too incompetant to award anyone.
He needs to be given a job running the contracting crew for the DOT

While I try, I'm not able to watch *every* post 10 video, but when I saw the rake in the opening seconds, I made sure to save the video so I can watch the whole thing later.

It would have been nice if he explained what "delta p" means, for those of us who have no idea. OTOH it is a simple thing to google. Now I understand.

My favorite video! I loved seeing the duck eggs and the strutting tom turkey! Thanks for being protective of the duck. That's a place I could live and be content. Looked much better with the culvert opened and the pond drained. Thank you.
The various authorities and DOT's could learn a lot from your videos post 10, and fit those V shaped intake structures.
And those structures would help even if beavers were not a present problem, as they catch driftwood and grasses (edit: and human trash) before they can either clog mid-pipe or even just pass through and whack the sides doing damage.
They also make cleaning debris a breeze, as we have seen.
I could really see Post doing some training talks for regional authorities: it's that passionate interest that really makes a difference in these kinds of separated organisations.
LAMONT is too busy trying to figure out how to tax residents per miles driven to care about actually taking care of what they are supposed to. I know this area
Yes - They could learn a lot. For example, it takes one man with a rake about 10 minutes to clear out a clogged outlet. Not a crew of 5 Union guys for half a day. One man, 10 minutes.
You scared me a few times in this one-- I thought the rake might go shooting through, off on its own grand adventure. Am just as glad that it didn't and neither did you.

Tree frogs mean it's finally spring, love that sound :) Nice to see the culvert cleared out and functioning properly. This may also mean fewer mosquitoes during summer too, depending on how far down it drains and how much standing water is left. Great to see the duck eggs too! Win-win for everyone! I don't think itvwill have any impact on mosquitos. There's a bigger pond on the downstream side of the road.

Watching your videos after a stressful day at work is such a treat. So calming. Also wonderful to watch the surroundings in you part of the world. It is very similar to some of the middle and northern part of Sweden where I live.

@@larsiversen4466 chevy, ford and dodge have been making a lot of 4 cylinders and diesel v6 motors for a while now. A family friend has 400,000 miles on a Chevy Aveo from the mid 2000s and it runs perfectly still the only issues in all of the bearings can stay in place because the frame has been driven for so long. Alaska miles too. He lives in an area that reaches -40F often.

My anxiety spikes when he casually walks across a road without pointing the camera both ways. I can probably guess that he does check both ways, but it does not feel like he did. It is so natural to unconsciously equate the camera’s FOV with his own actual. Other than that, his videos are very satisfying to watch.

Around the 5 minute mark I got worried for you. That culvert was pulling so much water! I know you'd never work in an unsafe way, and I know you know your stuff. But I still worry about you sometimes, because I like you and want you to he happy and healthy. Worry aside, I really enjoyed this video. Wonder if you would consider doing a night time time lapse of beavers going at a culvert to try and patch it up after you’ve done your work clearing it. Assuming you got the camera equipment to do it.

I believe malard duck eggs take 3 weeks to hatch and another 5 weeks to fledge, but they will be on the water soon after hatching following mum and dad.
