WOW Braddah, I grew up in Lanakila Housing! The park across school St. Mango, guava avacado, coconut five fingers sour sap and even ulu trees was everywhere back then. Went to Likelike school. Played pop-warner football for Palama Settlement! Always competing against Merits Housing and the Boyz's from Odd Ln. Went to Kalakaua, never made it to Farrington instead we moved to Haleiwa. The country was nice back then 69 -72. Surfing was much better back then! Ali'i, Lanis, Cheung's reef, Pipeline wasn't even crowded back then and nobody droped in. Missed it. Mahalo, Aloha Ke Akua! Treasured memories. Now I'm retired Army and live near Ft Bliss, El Paso, TX.
This song brings tears to my eyes cruising at Lanakila housing with the boys on late summer nights everybody split ways and living there life but I still get the memories to think back on 🤙
Shout out to all us kids who grew up there and are making a better living for our parent(s) so they don't need to struggle so hard. Keep it local where ever you are at in this crazy world! Aloha.
