I wish more people were like you, I deal with people being cruel about my appearance all the time, even in church sadly. Today I went out with my husband to a coffee shop to have a nice time. It was painful to be ignored and then laughed at by the girl at the counter and a man behind me. I'm overweight,in my sixties and have a big double chin. I have a lot of health problems but people just judge what they see. It's so ironic because we live in a society that now demands tolerance but the buck stops here, at far, straight,old white woman like myself. Sorry for the long reply.

I became aware that--in the past, more than in the present--schools weren't doing a very good job of identifying the talents and INTERESTS of young people and in helping them to lead happy and successful lives, comfortable with themselves but also useful to the people around them. Many children have stronger non-language skills, and schools in the past were maybe too language-oriented and tended to reward THOSE children with strong language skills and were failing to encourage and promote the development of the talents of young people with non-language skills. At the present time, children with stronger non-language skills are being helped to develop those skills and being helped to go on to technical schools and other places that offer post high school training that rewards and develops the non-language skills that many young people have and that are so useful to our society.

I met Marylin Manson and Dita Von Teese at a gun show in Birch Run, Michigan. Dita's mom lives about an hour north, so they were probably on their way back from visiting. I had no idea who either of them were, but Dita wore a Dita Von Teese t shirt, so when I got home from the show, I looked up the name and found out who she was, and found out that the tall geeky looking guy she was with was Marylin Manson. He didn't dress funny, he didn't wear makeup, and he had a normal looking hair style. Dita looked pretty good.
