Suzanne Pleshette was not one for sleeping around. She was too big a STAR to indulge in anything so casual. In fact, during production of Nevada Smith, which was shot in a very rough location, she fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Even on the talk show with Johnny Carson, she blurted out that there was a rumour that she had slept with Carson for a part. Her reply to the audience was "I did not sleep with Johnny Carson because (1) he never asked me and (2) the part wasn't worth it. Suzanne had a wonderful camaraderie with all her male co-stars. In Wanted Dead or Alive, Steve's co-star was the lovely, Lisa Gaye. She liked Steve and called him a gentleman, but would never sit on his bike because he had a love for speed that frightened the daylights out of her.
I know you have to have a star, but McQueen playing a 16 year old native American didn't make sense. Him not being able to get served in a bar didn't make any sense. The bad guys not recognizing him later in life didn't make sense.
Not only that. But in the beginning, when the bad guys come to Max's ranch. They bully Max, knock him down, then take off for the structure where Max's parents are, something like a general store and saloon all put together. Max takes off after them at a trot and finally shows up about an hour later, after the bad guys have supposedly come and gone. Does anybody really think, that at a trot, it would take Max a whole hour to get back home? I mean think about it. He could've easily covered three miles in an hour with the kind of pace he was laying down!
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They were good friends. She stated that the kiss was very difficult because they had a brother sister type relationship.
Good Movie.
This was based on a character from Harold Robbin’s “The Carpet Baggers”
Iron Eyes Cody (who pops up for a second) was a fake native american too.
He was Sicilian the name Iron Eyes was his character's name in a bob Hope film The Paleface and changed his name to that.

Put it down to dramatic license!
