While it's soundtrack is more Smooth Jazz than metal, the same company's Tokyo Xanadu did something similar with my favorite track in the game, Hazy Moon, though it got much more prominence later in the game.
Ys IX's a bit weird. The soundtrack is 'okay' by Falcom standards until about halfway through. And once you're that far all of a sudden almost all of the new songs are excellent.
The Ys games have so many bangers to love!
It's a Nihon Falcoom rule to always have great bangers in their games!
Hell yeah, this is one of my favorite songs from the series, glad to see you liked it so much
3:30 sort of transition makes me think of a scripted sequence between boss phases like in MGR
Watching this whilst playing in Keening Highlands, wow what a tune!
And this is ost is just used for a one-time early short sewer dungeon lol
Kind of like how in Ys 1 the first dungeon's music goes HARD. It's just the first dungeon guys!

Wonder how he'll react to the awesomeness that is desert after tears
The violin reminds me of Atelier battle themes.
Another series known for its killer tunes.
