Such a lovely car. I got to spend time driving a TR4. Driver's car. Doesn't tolerate goobers. I loved driving it. Thanks for sharing.
We Thank You & you are welcome, absolutely nothing like TRIUMPH the British marque that TRuly demands & likes to be Driven. 44+yrs 392988 miles no need to ask me how I know🤗
As a Biritish admirer of the TR6, I feel honoured (“honored” no doubt in the USA!) to have watched your beautiful car being owned and driven by a proper owner, who uses it with pleasure and doesn’t just keep it in the garage on jacks as “an investment”. These stunning and beautiful cars deserve to be driven. Hats off to you sir. I am absolutely green with envy!
We Thank You unique relationship between Man & Machine we like each other. My 1st only & last TR6 makes demands of me, keep clean looking like a trailer queen, mechanically well maintained, in return I get to Drive It like I own it, when, where & as often as I like as of 8/8/23 2gether 44+ yrs 392,980 miles in pursuit of minimum 1/2 million on same TR6 www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjulius/albums/72157633108538417
A spectacular example of a stylish sports car. The Union Jacks on the rear quarters do seem a tad overenthusiastic. Were they an export option? The original chrome and enamel badges are still available.
@@greghill7759 Agree nothing like 'em. Early OEM TR6 ('69-'72) came with TR6 lettering on rear quarter panel same as UK depending on colour black or white '73-'76 & those shipped to the USA sported the Union Jack/TR6 rear quarter badging. Changed out during 1990 respray to Union Jack matter of personal taste TR6 encased between Union Jack then too somewhat of a symbolism for those that may wonder, driving British Iron in the USA. Yes you still can hunt/find enamel badges from British parts vendors
@@UCwp7q5nfJxOXx4txsSFGood enough, sir. Thanks for the reply and drive safely!
The British flag decal appeared on NA spec cars beginning in 1973. Before that NA spec cars carried the open block letter TR6 like the home market cars. By the time 1973 rolled around Triumph knew they weren’t going to bring out a new sports model and they needed another few years out of the TR6. The interior was given new cosmetics. Externally the chin spoiler apppear and the Union Jack on the rear panels. It stood for 20 years of TR, 50 years of Triumph and was so popular, they kept it for the remainder of the run in 1976.
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful!! 👏👏👏👏. As you drive around town , it has to be a great feeling knowing nobody else has anything comparable.
We Thank You 44+ yrs 392,982 miles Driving period is a joy/pleasure only comparable thought I entertain my interpretation of what TR6 means to me, Well Kept & Clean, Drive it! Routine Mechanical Maintenance, Upgrades makes it definitely 1 of a kind www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjulius/albums/72157633108538417

You as I are owned by a TR6 so we're part of the TR6 "In Crowd" the select few in the world fortunate enough to own/DRIVE TR6 enjoy it as we know there is absolutely nothing like a TR6 the LOOK/FEEL/SOUND!

WOW JULIUS! I was interested in the TR6 in general, but when you said you bought it seven years old with 86,000 miles and now has 380,000+ miles, my jaw dropped!!! I love when people properly maintain their vehicles and treat them as something durable rather than replaceable. Thanks for posting this!
Thanks! As of Tues 11/15/2022 make that 388,672 miles as stated got my 1st Only Last TR6 from original owner goal keep it clean mechanically maintained like a trailer queen but Driven as a Passion. We live in a throw away disposable society somethings better with age. October driving upgrades new clutch, hi-torque starter battery brake master clutch cylinder fan belt motor mounts steering column & 65 amp alt rebuilt in pursuit of 1/2 million miles Goal on a TR6
Wow, awesome TR6 Julius. I never thought the mighty Six could travel all those miles and look that good. Great work and enjoyment.
Thanks James neither did I when purchased in 1979 my intent Keep It Clean & Drive It proof in the puddin' possibility of TR6 the Glory Still Exists!
According to the federal HESCHLAVVO law, it is already forbidden in Switzerland to drive combustion engines on mountain passes from 2025. In France, the SCHLABOUBVE regulates that fossil vehicles that produce fine dust are prohibited in all cities from 2025. The BABVVO in Germany will exhaust gas pollution from 2027 and that is what will happen in entire EU also bann of all tires and brakes because of fine dust!!!
2 Things will always be difficult to ban in the USA without a fight combustion engines & guns not to say it won't happen eventually
Sadly China makes the rules now and most politicians are chinese puppets@@UCwp7q5nfJxOXx4txsSF

Awesome car. I have been a fan of yours for years now. I hope to meet you in the future. Mazel tov!
Thanks Albert should the stars line up possibilities remain as me & mine get around!
Beautiful TR-6!!! I bought mine new in August 1974. I had to find a hardtop for it and also an overdrive trans. I drove mine all over the country multiple times, including up Pike's Peak once. Loved the car and kept it for almost 25 years. Sold it in 1999 for what I paid for it, $5K, after a lot of renovations. I wonder now whether the new owner kept it. It was not perfect as the renovations I did were not off the frame and included some "bondo" but the car was pretty. I managed to get some wire wheels for it also which for me made it look like a real sports car. Wish I could post a photo of it; it was clean inside and out. Enjoy that ride for as long as you can !!!!
Thank You. Good for you missed that brand spanking new experience but over the years did what I could to get as close to that feeling as possible 1990 was the frame on resto after 11 yrs of driving original since purchase from 1st owner since you owned/drove one, nuff said, you never forget TR6. Being my 1st Only & Last TR6 will definitely continue the ride whenever the times comes I say use to have one they will have taken my driver's license away & pried the keys out of my hands

Your car is WAY cool. I had a '69 TR6 back in the mid 70's and it lived in the shop. I'd love one today but went for a soft-top Mazda MX-5 Miata instead. It was a great decision for me.... but I still think a TR6 is a beautiful lady that never ages. 😊😊

@@UCwp7q5nfJxOXx4txsSF thanks for the compliament...they are pretty unusual to drive and for me they are a classic and not something to put a fast engine into as the safety element is not there...no chassis crumple zones...no airbags :) few have roll over bars which now at this age of my life i think is crazy....i will not drive mine until i have a roll over bar which is solid and works.
In life we all need an interest in order to get up and go and classic cars are really great.....no wonder we had no mental health issues as children...we were too busy trying to survice... as global warming shuts down these old classics which i suspect it might in the form of taxes, i will change mine to electric so hope to kep mine till i pass to the next world....hopefully that will be Heaven and i hope all the cars will already be fully restored up there and ready for use. take care.

I'm thinking of putting a smaller steering wheel than the standard 15" on mine. How do you find the 13"? Is it good for touring and driving the twisties?
43 yrs I've had numerous steering wheels 15/14/13 inches currently 13" dished. Many think 13" harder to steer/parallel park but then how often do we park a TR6. A dream on touring & twisties vs the bus sized wagon wheel larger wheels one doesn't realize how much time they spend correcting back to center with the massive steering wheels. Then there's the TR6-nitus pain in leg/knee & ankle joints from having leg laid to the side against dash support which is totally eliminated with 13" dish. Changing from 14" flat was hunting 13" flat until fellow TR6 owner let me set behind the wheel of his 13" dished wheel TR6 sold me on it!
Nice !
We appreciate the props!
