- What was meant to be a 2 night car camp in moderate rain turned into an unmitigated disaster. Out of nowhere a red weather warning was issued after I'd setup camp. Gale force winds destroyed my camp. Hope you enjoy!

Such a shame this major storm kicked in when it did. Also the fact the warning came so late. I had been checking the weather forecast for days and it was just moderate rain. if you could reinforce putting more rope's by connecting them like X pattern with current setup it will hold up tight.
What a night,Tony😱!! You did all you could to make everything secure; it was just no match for Mother Nature. Did you ever find out how high the winds got during the night? When you first got in the tent and had to get up to go out to see what was flapping, I was begging you to get in the car!! Glad you heard me!😆 Very entertaining video🥳 So sorry you lost your crappy tent and great tarp. I saw Luke review that tent recently. He had major leaking issues. I thought “uh oh” when I saw it. Large tarp in wind......problematical at best...hug amount of force being exerted on fabric, ropes, archer points. . Would have been interesting to see if outcome would have been different with a "four season" tent and their stronger poles.

Exact same thing happened to me once, went from 28 degrees and sunny to 8 degrees, windy and rainy. Tarp we put over the two tents tore off and collapsed, then one of the tents also collapsed (with me in it!!). We were so mad we tossed everything in a dumpster and left, worst camping trip ever.
OMGoodness I would be scared to death!Thank goodness they have the truck to protect them!!!

Awww Bruce is nice and warm.i jumped when he jumped. A scary moment there. In SA we usually camp at Morgans Bay eastern Cape SA.when the wind comes up you must be prepared beforehand.i learn alot from you.

Try a North Face VE25. It will hold up in 60 mile an hour winds. A bit expensive, but you won't blow away.

You might look into drip guards for your truck windows so that if you are forced inside you can still open them just enough to let air circulate without rain getting in...I put some on my truck they work like a champ...cheers to you and Brucey!!!!

Not enough tie downs for any kind of weather I’ve been in a typhoon conditions in Alaska an many storm situations but you have to put up extreme rigging to survive an stay dry
OMG! I love your beautiful Australian Shepherd! I had one for 13 years, she was given to me when she was a year old. The best girl ever, best breed of dog in my book. Clean, smart, well mannered, no smell, easy to groom, wont run off, loyal, just the best.

@@ABCampingTony Sorry, they look and behave very similarly. Border Collies are a bit smaller. And I believe are listed as the smartest breed.

I always think it's silly to see a tent with rainfly underneath a tarp. You might as well put it in a bigger tent then cover your double tent with a tarp

Nice vid. Thanks. I've camped through many a storm on the Pacific NW coast in WA. I've learned always take the most robust gear money can buy. If car camping, have backups. Worst case scenario, you get to sleep in your truck.
OneTigris seems to be the 'in' thing right now. Not sure if I would trust their gear. A canvas tarp in a gale has never let me down.

Hi Tony and Brucey watching again for the second time. You both had a windy adventure on this one. Glad you had your vehicle to get out of that storm. At least you were able to cook and eat without it all crushing down. That would of been horrible. But I'm happy you were able to leave and get home on time before the worst of it. BTW, what are you smoking? Wrapper looks like a natural. Darkish ash...maybe Honduran? The last stick I smoked was a cuban Bolivar--a great morning smoke in a torpedo shape
